    Soloing AV/GM's

I'm interested in this as well. I have a Scrapper nad a Brute that I hunt AV's with, and was wondering what kinda squishy would be best suited for huntem down as well.
  2. My SS/SR brute doent have much of an issue with end at all, of course I have a performance shifter proc, and the numina, proc, and the other two procs that get slotted in health/aidself.

Agreed. A res to -regen is not asking for a lot in a */regen set. Even /wp has res to -regen in fast healing. Although res to -rech can be gotten from the winter's gift IO, that also would be a good add on to the set. Those buffs would not be game breaking so I don't see why it wouldn't be considered. So yeah. -regen res in fast healing (it would be better suited in an auto power) and -slow res in resilance sound good to me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The resistance to -regen that willpower has is laughable, simply because everything with -regen pretty much floors you. It is a rare occurance when my willpower gets only partially regen debuffed. I could be facing 10 enemies and be generating over 100hp/sec, and I get hit by a broken NPC power and bam! 0.00% - 0.00hp/sec shows up on my combat stats.

Player powers with -regen are rather overpowered as well (trapsoison trap is the worst offender, but not the only one), and my only guess is this is to counteract an AV's enormous regen resistance. Simple solution: tone all -regen down SIGNIFICANTLY, and remove AV -regen resistance.

Give regen capped regen resistance(similiar to SR's capped defense resistance) probably in fast healing, integration, and resiliance.

Give willpower more, say 50% regen resistance, divided into fast healing and high pain tolerance.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Willpower also has resistance and defense though, regen does not.

    Please, show me this. Really.

[/ QUOTE ]I seem to recall that Super Reflexes wasn't nerfed 4 times because it was considered too powerful, whereas Regen was.

However, I was merely being flip and if I am wrong then I am wrong. I stand corrected.

On a serious note though, don't all of the armor sets have a weakness, a "kryptonite" if you will? If Regen was given debuff resistance wouldn't that make it the only set without such a weakness?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The issue with regen back in the day wasn't really regen. It was regen combined with tough and weave.

As far as the other sets?
Super Reflexes has defense, defense debuff resistance, slow resists and scaling resists to damage.

Invuln has Resistance, and defense, has a self heal, slow resists, resistance to defense debuff, +to hit.

Dark Armor has resistance, defense, -to hit, self heal, +perception, and a damage Aura, and end drain resistance

Firey Armor has resistance, self heal (which grants toxic resistance), self end recovery, a build up type power.

Shield has defense, resistance, higher hit point, defense debuff resistance, Increase in damage aura that also debuffs foes damage, recharge debuff resistance, and a pbaoe superior damage attack.

Willpower has +hp, regen, resistance, defense, +perception, foe -to hit, +recovery passive, +regen passive

Regen has +regen passive, +recovery passive, +regen toggle two self heals, +resistance in resilience, 5% or so i believe.

Yes, I think what the OP suggested is reasonable.
  5. They said they weren't going to resolve any balance issues with IO's.
  6. Or, and I know people don't like using these, Inspirations. The have these little things that will release you from a hold, and you don't have to use a pool power choice.

Rage does not a brute make.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Huh?

    [/ QUOTE ]
I believe he is making reference to the fact that the OPs question is more directly inquiring about Fury and not the superstrength powerset and/or rage.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is exactly what I meant, thank you.
  9. Theres a thread in the brute section. Essentially the same thing. I think the title is something like
    DM/WP Holy wow
  10. Rage does not a brute make.
  11. Get Diviner Maros (sp?) as your next contact if you can, I think Darrin Wade introduces him. There are two EB's that will be upgraded to AV's if you run invincible. Barracuda and Calystix. I just soloed them yesterday. Believe I was either 27 or 28. Fun stuff.
  12. Didn't you start a Brute at one point in time Powerforge? Or is this for a new AV soloing beast?
  13. I like these. Touches my patriotic heart.
  14. Heres one pic
Theres more in the album. Just the two AVs on the brute, the others are my scrapper/

  15. Theres pics, they were purple. Even level.
And it was DM, not EM.
  16. I made sure the npc ally in the mish got killed before I went after the AV
  17. So, did we get a patch this week to fix it, or are we screwed over the weekend to?
  18. With tomorrow bein the 4th, decided to bump this.
  19. Just dropped Calystix to. Psi AV with pets. Fun.

(That last part was a lie)

Soloing an AV at 27, even with using inspirations is impressive. It's definitely worth boasting about. The only thing (in my mind) not worth boasting over is if you had to use a shivan or a heavy or something to "solo" it. I don't consider that really soloing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree, so I took a picture or two. Working on Calystix atm.
Also probaly should have stated this was on a brutem but oh well, brute boards are always dead.
    Beginning

    ...and the end

Can't wait till I have more slots and tough and weave.
Man this guy is gonne be a wrecking ball.
  21. Ok, soloing an AV at 27, inspirations used, acceptable or no?
Only have 33 percent s/l resist, so had to use a purple to survive alpha and get in close for Rttc to start it's magic.

So, is it boast worthy? Not that I like to toot my own horn, but I am the type person that likes to know that I accomplished something, and not be the only one who feels that way.

    DM/WP holy wow

    DM/WP = easy button.
I thought it was cool when I soloed an AV on my scrapper at 42.
I just took out Barracuda (AV version) at 27. With just 32% s/l res. Yeah, I popped a green here or there, but screw it, an AV

    Proof!!

Edited cause of the internet rule of pics or it didnt happen.
  23. Ok, posted in the other thread. Nice costumes in there.
  24. Ok, heres mine.
After an accident on the football field, Jason Conner was rendered a paraplegic.
His father having died on a mission in the Balkans, and a mother that turned to drugs and prostitution, Jasons life was not going in a positive direction.
During a Longbow raid to stamp out an Arachnos cell in Skyway, a Longbow Ballista was knocked through a wall of a home near the warehouse district.
When Ms. Liberty went to find the Ballista, she discovered the young boy, now in his early twenties, had taken up a shotgun to defend the unconcious Ballista from the Huntsman that had come to finish him off. In appreciation of his bravery, she offered to have her Longbow scientists fix his condition for him. After servo motors were put into his body, his neurolic system stimulated with electricity, and a modified Superdine formula given, he was not only able to walk again, but became super strong. Deciding to use his newfound gifts for good, he took up a shield, and put on the colors of his country and now goes by the name Colonel Victory.

This SF is not easy as is. It's not even that it's hard. Once you IO out a Brute, nothing is very challenging anymore, so I welcome an actual challenge. The problem is it isn't difficult, it's just tedious and very long. Button mashing my attack chain over and over for almost 45 minutes isn't fun IMO.

Just disappointed. The TF/SF is really the only thing issue 15 has besides AE tweaks and fixes. So for someone like myslef who doesn't care for AE and does alot of TF/SF, it a bit aggrevating to find out I hate the new SF.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This. For some reason my team could not drop Reichsman. We had all of the temp powers, but could not get him below half health. He would phase, and there was nothing we could do about it.
We had two brutes, a corr, a mm, 2 dom, and 2 stalkers.
I went afk with Reichsmann on me so I could look on the boards to see if he was bugged or something. Of course I came back to full health.

Oh, and JDouble, there is one thing other than the SF that I like.
    They fixed the alakazamreact emote.
Thats the other thing that this issue had for me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

One Corr w/o multiple VEATs is not what I'd call a good team suited to taking on a new SF, unless most of the players are very good and already know what the SF is all about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I would. A full team, with different AT's all driven by good players. The issue wasn't the lack of VEAT's (Which I've done every tf/sf in the game without a Veat/Eat) it was the bugged MM power which prevented us from getting him below half health. Every AT was represented, except for VEATs.
Then again I'm one of those crazy people that doesn't believe you have to have a certain powerset just to do a Tf/Sf.
