  1. I have decided to roll up another new toon. While at first I was contemplating a non melee toon (almost 6 years now and all I've managed to get past 30 is Scraps, brutes, and a single blaster) then I realized I had been smelling my dogs farts and needed some air.

After clearing my mind, I decided.
    Fire Melee and Invulnerability.
Now the only question is, Scrapper or Brute?
I don't really prefer one A/T over the other, and I have more than a couple of each at 50.

So can someone help sway my decision?

Forgot to mention, I will be doing some PvP with this toon, as well as the late game tfs/sfs frequently.
  2. They are very durable. Unyielding is just your status protection.
Invincibility, which you get at 28, I believe, is what you're really waiting on. I also have to ask if you have Siphon Life and Dullpain, as those twop powers together make you a force to be reckoned with.

Someone send that man some L.S.D. stat!
  4. Seems good to me, as long as your other stats are where you want them to be.
With my planned build I am sitting around 43%, perma DP, Hasten is close to perma, and I still have 64% s/l resists.
  5. Last time I played any toons that were invulnerability, was just after CoV came out. I know there have been changes to the set, but I can't remember exactly what. I know they tried to make the passives more desirable, but not sure how. If one were to make a brute with invulnerability, how would you slot it?
  6. Everyone's opinion on whats best is going to be different. I myself do not have any patron powers, simply because it did not fit my toons concept. There is a guide in the guide section that is a basic SS/SR. Not everyone agrees with the guide, but that's what's so great about opinions, everyone has one.

Here's a link to the guide.

I agree that they are persuaded by forum posts, that's part of the reason why I started this little discussion.
  8. No advice, just curious about something. wtf is a guildie?

The thing is, a scrapper isn't a brute, and as far as a ninjitsu stalker, well, I've tried the at, more than a few times, and quite frankly, nvm, I'll be polite, they don't fit my personality. I do agree with new powersets though, definitely do. But really, with knowing what the AT modifiers are, and only having to maybe change the order of powers or create one new one to take the place of hide, how much work is really involved?
  10. First off, I know there wont be any proliferations for awhile, this is just for discussions sake.
I read through the ice melee thread today and it got me to thinking. There are some powersets that I would love to see ported from stalkers and brutes and from scrappers to brutes. WIth that in mind, it occored to me, "I'm sure there are others that have there wishes to."
So call this an unofficial poll. State what powerset you would like proliferated from where, and if you want, put the reasons why, even if it is just to be overpowered, I want to hear your reasons.
    I'll start.

    Scrappers need:
Super Strength, Ninjitsu, Ice Melee and Ice Armor.
    Ice Armor Spines ftw!!

    Brutes need:
Regen- I seriously want a SS/Reg Brute. Imagine after you have some IO's, runnin 35ish % def, all that regen, unlimited end, click from heals, droppin foot stomp, Ko Blow, finishing a group off with full fury, then dashing off to the next and hitting dull pain. Sounds like fun to me.

And getting out after was a nightmare in itself: I had people offering me O-Ports and the like when I needed to level to 25 first to use them. Got out OK, but it was a lot of running and getting lost.

Thanks for all who participated, and for those that couldn't (or that I foolishly missed, my sincere apologies if I did) I'll try to get something together again soon!
I was there, the spines/wp. And I am looking forward to the next time something like this is done.
Did anyone actually get a screenie? I wasn't able to.
  12. Personally my claws/wp was forced to wander the earth until the end of time. The claws are just strapped to the back of his hands. Over the years he has found the claws much easier to deal with than axes and swords, and with other people in this day and age emitting flames and wrapping there hands in unstable energy fields, he needed something small and inconspicous.

    Old Player

Why do you have acro with Inv? Should be completely unnecessary.
  14. I'll be there on Kaiban, my spines/wp, unless I manage to get my new project that high.

    4 AVs at once!

Yeah, I looked closely at the pictures with mids right beside it. Pretty sure I have all the same power picks, but slotting and which IO's I'm just not getting.

I tried to get a build together in Mid's as well, but no dice.

    Care to share your build?

think someone has done more than that, but it was invuln

Congratz! Only way I've been able to solo an av with willpower was using DM, and that was just one.
Definitely curious about the build myself.
  19. Take your pick, I have a spines/wp, a claws/sr, and I'm thinking of leveling something else up to the 20's or 30's this weekend, but I'll be there regardless.
  20. Hey Whisky Jack, took your build, made a few modifications, and now have the build that I am going to work toward on my new fm/wp brute. His defenses are only 38%, but his resists are 58% for s/l, and mid 30's on the others, along with a nice 683% regen with 1 foe in range of rttc. Thanks for that!
  21. Hand Clap on Super Strength. The damn thing does absolutely no damage.
  22. What about either a DB/EA or Claws/EA brute. You don't start with the stealth power like a stalker, but you do get it around 20 I believe, and it does not suppress, so the defense is constant from it.

Gobbledygook: All scarpeprs are pretty well balanced with one another. Some sets are slow to animate and activate, bu in general they have higher damage. Then you have Dual Blades which animate very quickly and smoothly, but iirc it has lower damage.

Spines is good because it has a constant PBAoE and a damage type that's not too resisted. Along that same vien, Dark, Elec, and fire are good secondaries because they oo have a pbaoe aura. They won't protect you the most, but they'll still do well for what you want.
Here's my other question, and maybe this should be directed towards the OP, but here goes anyway. Why ignore the -1 setting for difficulty? Does that diminish the amount of LTs in a mish?
  24. Thanks Exx. I've spen the last couple days in my off time with my nose in mids. So far, this is the best I've come up with. Any other help is appreciated.
