Cytorrak powered colossus? Me likey.
Im just wondering what Odin and Tony came up with for Wolvie. Looks like spikes is the only change, except his claws appear to be glowing. -
I havent been following many comics lately, I recognize most of the worthy, but not all of them. Is Thing one of them? And how id Cytorrak feeling iff Juggie is lugging around another mystical weapon?
As far as the Mighty, where are they getting there extra, whatever there gonna have, from? -
Quote:No, I've never played a stalker before, but I was thinking either /wp or /nin.If you're a level 32 tank, then you're four levels away from having an attack. Energy Transfer honestly changes the set, even if it isn't as good as it used to be.
Stalkers aren't as durable as Brutes, but they can survive fairly well, as long as you don't pick /regeneration.
Have you played a stalker before?
As far as brutes, I was thinking either /wp or /EA, especially with the proposed changes to EA that are coming down the line with the next set of proliferation. -
For the longest time I have wanted to play a toon with EM. I have a tank at 32 with EM, but honestly, I hate tanks damage output. So my question is, should I play it on a brute or a stalker? I like to play toons that dishout damage and can survive. I understand that whirling hands damage is, well below subpar, but I'm fine with that.

Quote:Just to play devils advocate, but the Devs have stated numerous times the the game is balanced around SO's, not IO'sWith today's IO's and incarnate possibilities I think making IH a toggle would be way too much, seems like it would just be far too overpowered. I will agree that Regen needs Integration to pick up a taunt aura but besides that I think it will compete just fine in survivability with all the other sets (note I said compete, not be better or worse than any other set).
-
/SR can be softcapped without dumping IO's into it, it's all the other def sets that require IO's to become softcapped.
-
I can finally make a SS/Reg toon, finally!!
It will be interesting to see what tweaks are made to regen now. Maybe it can finally be buffed instead of nerfed. -
-
I will also be looking into some of the new content, unfortunately my ss/sr brute is on a server that is, well, dead, so not much going on there. Once I can afford to switch him to a more popultaed server, I will do so.

Quote:Ah, I didn't realize that was thought of as a nerf. Personally, I have no problems reaching 70% furyA couple issues ago they changed how Fury works. The net net as I understand it is that it's harder to reach >70%-75% fury now, but Fury is easier to maintain (decays slower).
This brought Brute's damage output (esp. solo) down relative to pre "nerf" and put a couple Brute sets under Scrapper sets for dps (at least single-target). Some suspicious among us would say that the devs did this in response to BillZBubba's many threads showing Brute dmg > Scraper dmg at full fury for several common sets. But that's just supposition
Because of the way several sets buff base damage, with sort of a lower achievable Fury cap, Brute versions of these sets now underperform Scrapper versions for dps (again, mainly ST dps I think). For example, Follow Up in claws buffs Brute dmg less than scrapper dmg, and AAO in Sheilds has the same issue. Without a higher achievable (solo) Fury cap, this is lowering Brute dps relative to before the Fury change.
At least that's how I understand it. I could be wrong. But my tricked out Claws/SR brute gets notably lower pylon dps running the top chain of FU-Focus-Slash. -
Quote:I've not heard of a nerf to fury.you get better Claws numbers on a scrapper due to Follow Up buffing better (higher base damage) and the nerf to Fury
more offense > go scrapper
more defense > go brute (higher HP helps WP)
my Claws/SR Brute sadly does worse pylon times than the scrapper equivalents
As far as not deleting the original, that happened a looonnng time ago. Hell, Jack (or Jake, whatever his name was) Emmert was still in charge when I deleted him. -
So, I have decided to reroll my main, and have a question.
See, back when the game released, I decided to emulate my favorite comic book character and made a claws/reg scrapper. Well, after regen went through all of its adjustments, I found I no longer liked the set. Even now, I find it almost intolerable to play. So i decided to reroll him as a claws/wp.
Here's where the question comes in.
Should I make him a brute or scrapper. I live in scrapperlock. All of my toons I play like this. I like to deal damage and outlive my team, and have been known on more than one occasion to go left when the rest of the team goes right.
So should I make him a brute or scrapper? Scrappers have higher base damage and are pretty freakin survivable. I have a 50 Spines/wp that has outlasted a couple of tanks, just on basic IO's.
I'm honestly not that concerned with set bonuses on this toon either. I wont be trying to solo AV's (that's what my claws/sr scrapper is for)
Forgive my rambling, just woke up and headed out the door to run 4 miles, so any help is appreciated. -
I'm really tired, so this may have something to do with it, but I have a question. Did you not slot damage in some of your attacks? Why?
I just started a Elec/sr myself. Here is my planned build, for comparisons sake.

Quote:Well, my major concern is soloing. On a team, I pretty much know my role as a squishy, from all the years protecting them. Or if they were smartasses leading 2 or 3 groups into them to watch them die. Luckily that doesn't happen very often.I could happily accept that when bringing in team variables, the defender can take the lead, but this is a melee player asking for insight in the scrapper forum about squishies.
Perhaps the OP should tell us whether he cares about the teaming ramifications or if he was specifically placing his inquiry here since he plans to solo with his squishy. -
Not gonna lie. Gave me the chills, def looking forward to this.
-
-
So, I asked a couple of days ago on the scrapper forum for advice on shich squishy to play. Ive been playing since just after release, and only played melee toons in that time. Since I've recently gotten my most recent project completed, I thought I'd start a new one. I was thinking maybe a blaster or kheld. I'm not quite sure which Kheld to choose though. Which one would you recommend for a diehard Melee player?
-
Think I'll poke my head in here. I was just fixing to ask the same question. I'm a 7 year vet that has only played melee toons. Like, the whole 7 years. So I was gonna ask for guidance on what I thought would be a good combo on a blaster that lives in melee. Maybe it will help spurn the OP in with some info. As for myself:
I have about 150-200mil in inf that I'm ready and willing to drop into this toon.
As far as play style, well, 7 years of melee, so I'll wind up blapping mostly by habit of being in melee.
Not intending to threadjack, just trying to help OP and get some of my own questions answered. -
I've got it narrowed down to a corr (either fire/dark, or ice/cold) a mm (thugs/dm or necro/dm) or a VEAT. Thanks for everyones input, anything else on the matter may be helpful still.
-
...what non melee toon would you make?
I've been playing since a few weeks after release, with the occasional break here or there to deploy, and all I've ever really been interested in is melee toons, specifically scrappers and brutes. Now I have the urge to play something else, to try out one of these "squishies" though I'm really not sure what to choose. That's why I come here, to the Hall of Scrappers. When you aren't stuck in scrapperlock or chasing fury, what do you play? -
That's a good point, I didn't think of that. I'll have to try to come up with something in Mids when I get out of the hospital.
-
Woohoo, just Soloed an AV at 22. Granted, he was lvl 21, but I did it. No temps, no insps. Doc Delilah was there though. Once I figure out where the picture is saved to, I will post it up.
-
Thanks just what I needed to know, it's completely skippable for me.
