Oops!! That's what I get for only reading the first couple of posts before I put mine up.
  2. I don't know when it's coming out but I did notice alot of activity on the forums for beta testing it. Look up Avatea. You'll see what I'm talking about.

There was talk of organic wings and armor. That sounds really cool. I saw some other tidbits but I'll let you guys find out for yourselves.
  3. Happy Anniversary, here's to 50 more!!
  4. I would be all for this. I get tired of running to the store to check the price on an item to see if it's worth selling on the market.
  5. Yes, with i17 Silver Mantis was put in Sharkhead and they changed which zones some of the missions were so that we don't have to go back and forth all the time. Both changes came with i17.

    1. Simply do you really have that kind of infamy to be playing around with ? Or are you just putting together a build regardless of cost ? Some of those IO's are very expensive, even if your just placing a bid and waiting for that bid to come. Your talking around 200 million for some IOs you listed.

    2. The use of inventions is to obtain something from the set bonuses. Yes Proc's can be nice in certain things. But not everything is worth slotting with Inventions. Some are better off being served by slotting with regular defense or heal IOs. Slotting Maneuvers with Defense buff sometimes is better then using some set like luck of the gambler.

In your build it seems you went for shiny. It looked shiny and expensive, so it must be good. Sadly its not always true. Personally I do not think Purples sets are worth much, unless you have everything else covered. So yes if a power is not being used to help you towards gaining the defense cap then it would be fine to slot it with some purple set for some higher recharge, hp, damage buff.

    3. After looking over Thermal a bit I can say many of the powers are group friendly. But you might have issues getting a group because of the pet-less issue. So if you start taking away the powers for groups only. Your down to 3 powers from thermal and 3 from Robots. You would have to take sets like fitness, fighting, Speed, Leaping and leviathan Mastery. You should be able to cover Positional Range and Energy and Negative Defense Caps. AOE would be close behind. I can get you to Smashing Lethal Defense cap, which would probably be better since most mobs do that type of DPS. Just would be a bit more work and taking Mace Mastery for Scorpion shield.

The build would have to be worked to obtain Defense caps as Early as possible. Once you get that dying less will make it not much of a struggle. Otherwise if you go the route of DPS first, leveling will be painful.

    4. End results - Personally I think Traps is the be all end all atm. Simply if you look at traps compared to Thermal. You can use EVERY Power in traps. Traps has protection, Healing, DPS, Debuffs, Minor hold ( Poison trap ). Where as you would have attacks like whirlwind, boxing, Kick and flurry.

I had my heart set on making a Demon summoning ( for the whip ) Traps toon. But my concept atm is not fleshing out with the look I want. Nutshell I can't get the right costume I would like. So I am considering Pet-less Robot Traps. But I will probably go the route of 50s full Robot Traps swap IOs from my Robot FF and use the 2nd build for a petless build.

So if you really have the game money to play around with I would MM / Traps. Once you hit defense cap and have trip mines it will pretty much all you will be doing anyways. Basically you will be walking up to a bunch of mobs and dropping a trip mine as they swing and miss.

Think about what your really looking to do and I am willing to help you out with some ideas and tweaking up the builds.
Thank you for being so helpful. The toon in question is already a lvl 50 and my main on virtue. I'm almost done slotting his first build and I thought going petless for the second build would be a fun experiment to try out. I don't have the infamy to create a 2nd build yet. I just wanted to get the slots set first. I plan to do his 2nd build the same way I'm doing his first build. First, I IO him then I add the set IOs 1 at a time. I have all the time in the world to do this and I don't care how long it takes. I just want the best possible build under the circumstances.

This is exactly what I wanted someone to do. Thank you so much. One question though, why did you take assault rather than tactics?

Three endurance reducers into assault can be replaced by one slot, and a single endurance reducer in a power that will burn more endurance (ie: an attack) will save you far more in endurance than the extra two endurance reducers in assault ever could. Put those two slots elsewhere.

FWIW, plainguy's advice about capping defense seems sound. And, it would be a good idea to six-slot your attacks using slots you would pull out of a variety of other powers, because your rifle will be your "lifeline" when petless.
    Great advice thanks.

I'm not too sharp on thermal atm without looking at the power set a bit in mids to get a feel for it.

Sadly Traps is pretty much the only set I can say clearly can be done petless because you have the ability to get to Defense cap AND you have a decent attack of Trip Mine which you could literally just cycle over and over again if your defense cap is high enough.

So you would have to be set up for Defense cap and good healing assuming thermal is built for that.
Also great advice. I'll take both of these factors into consideration. Thank you.

Coiincidence that people no longer ask for petless Thugs builds???

    Your honor,

    the prosecution rests.
Ummm, no. I just want a 2nd build to tool around with when I'm in need of a challenge but I want it to be as good as it can get. I really don't get why all the hate. You were the least hateful of the above posters but you have no idea what I'm thinking. All I asked for was a little advice and instead I get verbally *****.
  8. Hmmmm, didn't I say that this was a rough draft?

I worked on it a little to add some resistance and defense. I'm still not sure this is the build that I want but I think it's much better than the first one.

  9. I'm trying to work up a good no pets build for my second build. This is definitely a rough draft. I want to move around alot of these slots. This is mainly to show you guys which powers and enhancements I have in mind. If someone could take this build and optimize the slotting that would be helpful and very much appreciated. I'm a little flexible on the powers but I definitely don't want cauterize. I hate single target heals. Thanks.

Edit: As you can see from my slotting preferences I like to use procs.

  10. This is kind of a variation of something that I've seen requested several times before. I know others have asked for Npc's in the bases. I would like them to be customizable just like the ones in AE. It would also be awesome if you could give them emotes and something to say when a player approaches them. It could be given out as a vet reward. I'm not suggesting this because I would be one of the chosen few. I'm only a 42 month vet, so I would have to wait awhile for any new vet rewards. I just think that the demands on the servers might make it unfeasible to do it any other way. You could also limit the amount that a player can use (i.e. only one per account, per player in selected SG, etc...).
  11. Thanks for the great run this morning guys. My internet crashed and was out for about 5 hours. That's why you lost me in the 2nd raid. I'll be there next week for more raiding fun. Take care.
  12. Great I'll see you guys there if the servers come back up in time. Which brings up my next point when I do finally start the hami raid Virtue it will be on Fri. not Thurs. to avoid any possible conflict with weekly scheduled maintenance. If it's unscheduled we're out of luck until they come back up.
  13. Quit whining and just play the game.
  14. Thanks for 2 awesome runs today guys. If you attended, please post here to let everyone know. I got about 600 merits to add to the 300+ I already had. It is much appreciated. We're going to keep this going. Tomorrow we'll run on Virtue, same time different station. Next Monday back here on Freedom. After a couple of weeks to let it catch on I'll reserve Wed. and Thurs. mornings for redside hami raids on Virtue and Freedom. Thanks again. Cya in the funny papers.
  15. The Monday morning raid on Freedom was a huge success!! I did 2 raids and I was too tired for a 3rd but one was forming when I left. I grabbed about 600 new merits to add to the 300+ I already had. That's why I'm gonna start a weekly event on Tuesdays on Virtue. Same time (11am est). This will begin tomorrow (June 8th). If all goes well and there's enough interest we'll do 2 or 3 raids. After a couple of weeks to let this catch on I'll reserve Wed's and Thurs' mornings for redside Hami raids.

  17. GhoulSlayer

    Sonic/sonic corr

This is my first attempt at sonic/sonic corr, so I really don't know what I want to do with this guy. I worked up a build that I think will do well but I wanted to see what others thought of it.

    Dark/Kin

Well for starters, when I had more dark powers there were just too many clickies. Keep in mind that Sands of Mu and Nemesis Staff are also clickies. The way this build is set up there are 10 clickies which is my entire bottom tray. Secondly, I decided that the kin powers were much more important than dark. I wanted to pick up the pool powers that I took so that I would be more useful in supporting the team. Really the only place I have room in this build as far as I can see is by taking fewer epics to take those dark powers. I definitely want Scorpion Shield and Focused Accuracy. I would be willing to let the others go in place of 2 of them but that would leave me with 11 clickies and those dark powers would only be able to be 4 slotted. My build was similar to this for the last few months (same powers but I moved some bad slotting). I've been very successful at all kinds of SFs with this build which is what I primarily do with this guy nowadays. I don't usually have too much trouble with things running away because I'm almost always standing next to a brute who is spamming his taunts and other powers which taunt. I have no intention of soloing this toon ever. My goal is to help the team and to speed through mobs with them. So far, I've been able to do so very well with a similar build. After thinking about what you said though, it might be an improvement to replace Summon Disruptor with TT especially in PvP to hold more things down. I guess I'll go back to the drawing board...again.
  20. GhoulSlayer

    Dark/Kin

Mainly yes, but I also made it so that it could be used for support in PvP. Even in PvE I'm usually on a team so I think of this toon more for support in any case.
  21. GhoulSlayer

    Dark/Kin

I've been playing around with this build for awhile to get the best out of it. I think I finally have it right but I want to get some other opinions. Be honest, be brutal if you have to.

edit: I use ninja run and raptor pack for my travel powers. I'm thinking of dropping BotZ in tp foe (kb prot)

  22. Cya there Sparky! I'll save a spot on my team for ya.
  23. I work nights and I seem to miss all of the fun stuff most of the time unless I have a night off. So, I was thinking that maybe there's enough other people around like me that would prefer to have some of the larger scale events take place during the daytime. That's why I decided kick this off. Starting next Monday (June 7) at 11 am est we will be having a weekly event. We'll kick it off with a Rikti Mothership raid in RWZ1. If there's enough interest and all goes well we'll probably do 2 or 3. Find me in-game. My global is @Ghoul Slayer. On that day I will be playing as Dark Flea.

    Catwoman is a villain.

See, 'cuz Gothess got me and her matching Going Rogue Pre-orders in order to play Dual Pistols and experience the other treats. And now we're not getting the skins or exclusive enhancements?

So this is how all the people that created characters before the Isolator badge was released felt...
Agreed!! This is not cool at all. I pre-purchased a month ago and now I don't have access to these things.

Edit: Hey devs, how about a gamestop upgrade? I was already planning on buying the normal upgrade when the game hit the shelves. I'm willing the pay the difference but I'm not willing to pay full price when I already pre-purchased.
