AR/Traps used to be really good, but now any AR/ combination is superior corruptor side.

    But AR/sonic does sound interesting.

Some people do not like caltrops, but I am one of those people that do.

Caltrops allows you to use them defensively or even offensively if played right which is why I love using them so much.
  3. My Fire/fire dom will be amazing to play once these changes hit live.

    what's so wrong with farming?

There is nothing wrong with farming as it is not against the EULA (unless you participate in the RMT).

The problem is some people are determined to lump farmers with the exploiters. That from my view is a narrow minded perspective to take given they are not the same.

Well I have a funny story which shows how far zone pvp has sunk. I was in Sirens the other day and a controller came up as my bounty. When I tracked him down with my stalker I found him on top of a building attacking a resting brute. These guys were farming damage. In Sirens. Where someone always has you on their map. So of course I kill the controller and the Brute gets wild and calls me every name in the book - so I ask him- could you possibly think of a worse zone to try to farm damage in? So instead of moving to a different zone where they have a chance of hiding, the controller calls in four blaster buddies to guard them while they farm damage. Not kidding here. They lay out caltrops and hover around and kill anyone getting close. Stalkers cant hide either because the brute calls out locations to the blasters. So what do I do? I switch to MY blaster, stand on the caltrops and blow the brute to hell while the others watch helplessly. Good times. The brute went absolutely ballistic which really was just icing on the cake. The nice thing about it was that after the blasters recovered from their stunned silence, some of them switched to vills to get me and actual zone pvp broke out.

    That is awesome!

    10. The current PVP system needs to be refined such that a new/returning player can jump in to begin to understand how PVP works. Not only do powers function differently in PVP than PVE (which requires a lot of learning), but there is a learning process as to maximum efficiency for slotting as well. Diminishing returns stacked onto another layer of diminishing returns is clunky, and promotes a homogenization direction which seems to be a trend in many PVP aspects of MMORPG's. In the end homogenization should provide more balanced level of PVP, but the experience is lessened if everyone ends up with similiar powers that are mandatory (eg phase, hibernate, etc). To be honest I prefer diversity in PVP that way more roles are available for certain power sets, and it becomes more inclusive that way. The changes made to CoX PVP was supposed to make it even more inclusive, but it appears that PVP has become even more exclusive to select builds. Also the ability to tunnel vision to victory through sheer damage is also a trend in MMORPG PVP I do not like seeing coming back to life. Still CoX despite all the changes is still the most fast paced, and dynamic PVP that can offered online. To be honest PVP balance in this game is not that far off, but it requires a few key changes to be made for PVP to be where it needs to be.
  7. So why isn't there as many complaints about AR though? Between slug, buckshot, and M-30 that is a lot of frustration for your team.
  8. So diminishing returns on top of diminishing returns?

How does it help casual PVPers step into PVP?
  9. The ability to use an entire zone to duel someone is what makes this game so appealing. Dueling in a small confined area is not my idea of fun.

Throw in multiple opponents, and it becomes interesting.
  10. This is happening because they want to invest as little resources as possible for PVP which is a shame.
  11. Thank you for your contribution of a vast amount of information.

    Take care.
  12. Basically they need to be able to introduce new players to PVP some way given how powers work differently in PVP compared to PVE.
  13. Stalkers secondaries are all weak in PVP when you think about it. They all have their perks in certain situations though.

Way to go mac, and seriously never give up the fight. Still fighting it my self atm. good luck bro.

everyone should mail 100 copies of this post to the devs lol.

    Good idea.
  15. The pacing of PVP combat is still faster than the majority of MMORPG's on the market.

A lot of these changes are a bit too much, but only a few tweaks need to be made to bring PVP back to where it needs to be.

PVP shouldn't be purely about who can put out the most damage. Soft and Hard controls, debuffs/buffs need to have a place in PVP, but not make it a requirement in PVP either. A balanced approach needs to be taken. Gravitating from one each extreme in PVP to the other has not worked thus far.

So my message to the PVP team of the CoX staff is to find a compromise, so that it is more inclusive for other power combinations to be brought to the PVP party so to say.
