No, it's not right, but they've been doing that for awhile now. The behavior is expected, but their scripts got mucked up.
  2. This specific thing is WAI, and is relatively well-known.

The runner there was the "buyer". Find other groups that are standing around like this, and you will see that the buyer always runs. They usually say something like he did, too.
  3. I'm quite interested in this pack, but one thing bugs me. This is an all-emote pack, but I only get to see screenshots, and a very brief trailer video.

I'd really like to know what I'm buying. Please upload some non-flashy videos of the animations.
  4. I see. So the ship that carried him here as an infant is entirely operational, and suits his adult size just fine.

Five years of oxygen (or whatever the heck he breathes naturally when not powered by our sun), food, water, all in what is an escape pod.

I know I'm digging a little far on what's supposed to just be fun, but even comic movies shouldn't test the limits of my suspension of disbelief this far.
  5. Let's ignore many of the more talked-about flaws of Superman Returns for a moment. Forgive me if this has been mentioned before, but I was struck by this only this past weekend:

If Superman is super thanks to our sun, how did he fly outside of our solar system to the ruins of Krypton and survive?

Did anyone else catch that? Seems like a bigger flaw than super-baby.
  6. I agree with the logic! I also agree that they probably shouldn't be changed.

Practically all powers apply an excessive amount of force to be considered heroic (lucky villains). When I see arrows, or spines sticking out of an enemy that's still fighting, I chuckle. I can hack away at entry-level gang members with a gigantic sword, and they... keep... fighting!

Practically nothing makes sense in this game from reality's perspective. I think that's why some people just can't get into games in general. There are mechanics and tropes we all expect that normies just can't wrap their heads around.
  7. I can't speak for everyone, but shortly after the market merge & GoRo, I started to market just about everything to see if demand had gone up on some of the garbage (new players and all that).

FYI, demand did not go up. The Hero/Villain merits have had more of an impact. At least I didn't invest in this "scheme"!

    AV
tl;dr: The chain-guns aren't reliable enough for this game. Maverick is the perfect sidearm for HvsZ. Nite-Finder comes in second due to range, but it only holds 1 dart at a time.

If you mean the Longshot, don't expect to snipe since the default range on these toys is really bleh. The stock will hold 2 additional clips that you can buy separately. That's 18 shots without needing to reload darts. This one is one of my favorites for indoor play.

I don't really recommend clip guns for HvsZ, though (unless you go with the raider pictured above...35 shot clip). If you run out of clips, the reload time becomes a death-sentence.

Dead West has got it just right. A Raider/Maverick loadout will set you up for perfect Zombie-killing goodness. I hate the Tommy, though...I'm surprised someone likes and uses it! The Raider is a pain if you ever get a jam due to it's long barrel. Get a "marshmallow roaster" to push those dead darts out, just in case.

Avoid the chain-fed guns for HvsZ. They can be a pain just for regular Nerfing, so I can't imagine using them in a game that favors really fast paced close-quarters. The Vulcan tends to skip unless you use auto-fire, and since auto uses 6DD batteries, that can get expensive! It's really fun, but hard to recommend.

...and holy MOLY Dead West! Are those both your paintjobs? If so, sweet blasters!
  9. Put me on board with the crowd that dislikes his design philosophy, but has no interest/opinion on him as a man. His statements may be fact, but I disagree with his conclusion(s).

That said, it's pretty darn cool that Paragon Studios could release an expansion that prominently vilifies the in game persona of their ex-boss!*

    *completely tongue-in-cheek here.
  10. I've never played Humans Vs. Zombies, but I'm a gigantic Nerf Nerd. I've been collecting for about 15 years, and modifying for about 10.

In fact, I'm "sponsoring" my older brother's Melee/Single-shot Nerf party this weekend. Understandibly, I'm the only adult who has a collection of Nerf blasters to share.

I have a pegboard wall in my garage with...I don't know how many blasters. If anyone decides to try out HvsZ, I can certainly recommend the best plastic "weapon" for the job!
  11. Don't slot Nova, but at least 3 slot Dwarf for Resists. Slot their powers, too. If you find you prefer being human, respec later.

The journey will be a lot less fun without the help from the forms. Not impossible, but the point is to have fun, right?
  12. I think the major mitigating factor is that we will still have a slot crunch to deal with. Again, I just can't see this overpowering Khelds.

In fact, I think it's funny how many threads have popped up with people running around, flapping their hands squealing "What about slots? Boo-hooooo...what about slots?"
  13. ...and not to confuse you further, but Ice/Dark Tanker.

Brutes operate more like Scrappers, so for ultra meat-shield goodness, a Tanker is where it's at. Ice holds aggro like nothing else (get the aura), and your Dark Melee will moderately debuff your enemies, thus adding to your overall defense.
  14. Thanks Billz, and Castle!

    Sometimes I love being wrong.
  15. So how about this: Since we think Khelds are fine, how about teaming up with one of us to find out how we mitigate Kheldian's shortcomings? Currently, mine have no IO's slotted (with the exception of -KB), and I can solo and team perfectly fine. I soloed Malta just yesterday, in fact. I ask team-members to leave Voids alone because I want to be the one to take them down

I implore both you and the OP to give them another shot, with a new perspective. They can be a whole lot of fun. Check out the guides, and see what's changed since you last slotted them (because a respec can make all the difference).

Yeah! I realized it's really #2 that I have a problem with! I don't care if it has a mag 50 stun that spits out 1000 caltrops that sap my endurance, the pet should go when it's master is gone.

    Sorry...back to the regular thread
  17. Male here. I have 2 female characters, and one is parked at lvl 2. All others (too many to count) are male.

I made them for concept reasons, mostly. I have no interest in their virtual lady-parts. The one that I actually play is based loosely on Wonder Woman. I wanted to make a version of her that wasn't hyper-sexualized, and just super. I have one revealing costume on her, but it's nothing my girlfriend wouldn't make.
  18. I thought this over pretty hard. The Vanguard rebels are tough. Knives of Artemis are annoying. Carnie Master Illusionists can be frustrating. Sappers are usually first priority in the kill-list. However, all of these are nothing compared to:

Anything that summons a pet that I get no XP for.

The summoned thing usually has more HP than the summoner, and I get NOTHING for my trouble. I've never raged on anything more than this.
  19. Anyway, I would love to see Fitness transfer over to forms. I agree with the idea that "if it's fine for VEATS, it's fine for HEATS" (at least in this case). I can't see a situation that would make this game-breaking, can anyone else?

I imagine the devs aren't really considering it, though.

Including me! I can help with this today if you'd like. I'll be on at about 6pm Central, and my global is @Gehnen.

Like Chaos Creator said, go ahead and change your SG permissions, but I'm definitely trustworthy. I won't even set foot in your base in case you don't have time to clean up your dirty laundry. Post or PM me your global, and we can coordinate a time/day.
  21. Oh, and don't worry about the economy. All servers and factions share the same market.

I'd love to recommend Liberty: "The Friendly Server", but the PvP and roleplay are both so-so. Some of your criteria seems to contradict itself when it comes to our server identities!

Perhaps Virtue? Big population, but with a lot of roleplayers. Freedom has a huge population, but heavy PvP. You may have to prioritize your criteria...

    Ultimate Forms?

Ranged Defense? Sure, why not? With two builds, I can even try both if my patience doesn't run out.

I actually meant to put Smashing & Lethal there instead of Melee, but that doesn't undo the wisdom of your suggestion. Being able to avoid Psionic would be great for the times when I become the accidental Tanker.

    Ranged DEF it is!

Hope any dev read this and realize epics and dual pistols need a boost.
I noticed this too, but was completely bewildered. I love Kheldians, and Dual Pistols. My Warshade was nothing but fun, and my Peacebringer had a hiccup that a recent respec solved. I've said it before, but my main complaint on Khelds is the slow form-shifting.

Dual Pistols is so flashy and fun that any min/max notions that may creep in to my mind are overcome with "Wow! COOL!".

I'm not against them getting some dev attention, but they seem fine to me. I accept that I may be in a significant minority.
  24. My Stone/Stone Tanker "Redoubt". I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but 3 respecs later, he's still a chore to play at lvl 28. I've had him since 2004. I can't bring myself to delete him because of name, concept, and history.

    /sigh

    Ultimate Forms?

I decided to post an update to this project. My original build for my Peacebringer was pretty sub-par, and that’s what led me to the idea of really pumping up his forms. Well, it turns out I can’t stand the “inhuman” build at all, and that’s essentially the direction this project was going to take me.

I ended up tracking how many times I switched into other forms. I had a heavy bias towards White Dwarf, and human…with Nova being used about 5%(!) of the time, tops. The heavy-hitting melee powers of the human form pushed me to want to be in melee, with White Dwarf being my panic button. I’m a bi-former and didn’t know it. I’ll be seeing my family this Thanksgiving, so I guess I’ll come out to them then.

So, he got a much needed respec to suit my playstyle. I cannot believe I skipped Hasten in the prior build (what was I thinking?). I kept Nova for it’s overall utility, but it is completely unslotted. DAM/ACC IO’s are all it needs for my purposes. The slots pilfered from Nova have made my Dwarf a very heavy hitter.

So the short story is that I’m a boring old Human/Dwarf biform now. The happy ending is that he got bumped up to my third-favorite character with just this respec (I couldn’t rate him before). I think I’ll still try for super-high Melee DEF with IO bonuses, since Melee is where I tend to be.

Overall, I’m happy. I’m bummed out that the Ultimate Forms concept fell to the wayside, but I’m way more satisfied with what my Peacebringer can do.

    Thanks guys!
