Simply? I've run out of story. I've seen the old stuff and the new stuff doesn't interest me. It's certainly not enough to make me want to do it over and over.

I'm not all "DOOM! RAGE! etc.!" I'm just a bit sad that the direction the game is taking means it's time for me to mosey on. This is what some folks like in their games. So I'll go play in a different corner while they have their days in the sun.

If City of survives, I'll wander "home" in a couple issues or years or whatever, and see if there are new things for my style of play.
  2. It would be pretty awesome if there were little checkboxes on the power customization screen that would leave a toggle on, so you can see how the toggles look together.

Until now, the only thing we could do with our level 50 characters was run the same content repeatedly. No one seemed to have much of a problem with that, even though it was repetitive and, dare I say, grindy.

People ran a select few task forces over and over for the rewards involved and it was okay. But now that there is new content to run over and over, people are suddenly complaining about how grindy it is?

I'm sorry, but I don't see what is so different about it. We were doing the same thing over and over before, and nothing has really changed, but NOW you're complaining about it.

It doesn't make any sense to me at all.
I don't, didn't, and will not run the same content over and over again. Not everyone was on the LGTF/ITF loop before Incarnates. There's zero interest for me in running the same tasks ad nauseum. So I haven't. And I'm not going to start because the devs have decided that's the way for me to advance from here.
  4. I'm the weirdo who is here for the story.

The Praetorian story, or at least the crazy well part, is bad enough that I really have no interest in seeing where it goes.
  5. One issue I can see with consolidating TP Friend and TP Foe is targetting an enemy through an ally. For instance, if you send a stalker around a blind corner and he wants you to teleport and deal with the sapper he has targetted, it wouldn't be possible with "Teleport Other." Of course, I don't know if it's possible now, as I've never tried.

Combat jump includes immobilization protection and can take defense enhancements. Acrobatics includes minor hold protection and good knockback protection. Both are especially appealing by those who take the Fire Armor powerset because its anti-mez armor lacks immobilization and knockback protection, along with having no defense component in its armors. Fire Armor was all the rage a few years ago back before the Burn power was "fixed" for being overpowered. Fire Armor is the extreme example, though. The secondary effects of the powers are also good for adding additional to existing similar attributes of other powersets.
Fiery Aura has become quite popular again. Burn no longer causes enemies to run away, and has its damage frontloaded. Also, Consume a Fiery Embrace both recently had very nice buffs. SS/FA is one of the current favorite farming builds.

For reference, Jax, there are IOs that prevent knockback, so armor sets without built-in knockback protection don't pick up Acrobatics as much as they used to.
  7. A mastermind is another archetype to consider for low-level farming. I generally bump my difficulty up pretty soon on them.
  8. If you have a bit of trouble collecting the inf to pay for your costume change, you can log out at the tailor for a day or so and get a coupon that will take 50% off the price of costume changes.
  9. It's too grindy for my taste.

I left another game I cared a great deal about when it added a similar grind. I think in large part it's that I'm doing the same content over and over for a bit of pixellated currency that doesn't actually do anything. There's no inherent value to a thread or a shard. If you gather enough of them, you can build a whatsit, and with enough whatsits you can build a whosit.

If I cared about the story, or found the content inherently fun, I wouldn't mind. However, I find the Tyrant invasion story very bland, and don't like repeating content on the same character.

So when my subscription runs out in mid May, I'll move on.
  10. That's my basic story for my Demon MM. Recombinant DNA plus lab-brewed toxins (Poison).

It would help a lot if you gave a general idea what the henchmen would look like. Are these hydra slime beasts, Shivans, etc.?
  11. Yes, you can get debt at 50. It just reduces the amount of influence you earn, or takes a piece of your patrol experience until it's paid off.

The hero tutorial badge can be earned via Ouroboros, but as of now, no Praetorian content is available via Ouroboros, so the Praetorian tutorial badge is not obtainable to anyone who doesn't get it right away.

Other than that, the exploration badges in Safeguard/Mayhem missions can be tough to get if you out-level them. You can team with players in the correct range, though.

The villain badge Efficiency Expert cannot be obtained via Ouroboros. Each character only gets one shot at that one.
  12. I'm working up a rather Spark-y Zombies/Traps mastermind that would fit in rather well. I usually play on Virtue.
  13. Given the activation time of TP Foe, it would be more of a party trick than a viable strategy.
  14. I find Praetoria pretty fast. The arcs are short, so you get the end-of-arc bonus more frequently. The enemies are pains in the butt, though. No matter what your specialty is, there's an enemy in Praetoria that can shut you down.
  15. Vahzilok. I love the Frankenstein/Re-Animator sub-genre of sci-fi. Fighting Dr. Vahzilok in the Vahzilok Wasting Disease story arc is always a highlight.
  16. I have a 50 DM/FA/Pyre. I haven't done much with IOs or gotten the Alpha Incarnate past the common, though.

I think DM and FA play pretty well together. The damage in FA helps make up for DM's lack of AoE, while the survivability tools in DM (Siphon Life and Touch of Fear) help with FA's relative squishiness.

I recommend picking up Tough at least, and Weave if you're going to build for defense. I went with the Spiritual Alpha, since more Healing Flames is good and I had my endurance problems under control with Consume and Miracle/Numina's uniques.

I farm pretty well if I set out to do so, and haven't had any trouble with any of the enemy groups solo, but I certainly wouldn't want to be the main tank. I'd need to put in quite a lot of work to build up my survivability before I was comfortable playing in the Incarnate trails, for instance.

So that's what I did to tick them off...
  18. For the most part, function trumps form for me. I want to play Gravity but I just can't, for instance.

If the difference is marginal, though, I choose the cooler one. For instance, one of my corruptors uses DP even though Fire is generally better by the numbers.

Although, once I've made the larger decisions on powersets and individual powers, I use whatever feels more fun at the moment.
  19. Back when the activation rooted you when casting Practiced Brawler, you'd see my scrapper flying through the city at the run speed cap, only to pause every thirty seconds or so for a fist pump. Must've looked quite silly to the civilians.
  20. I like it on my squishies when I solo. It's nice to grab an irritating minion (say a sapper) or lieutenant (perhaps a sorceror) and deal with him while his friends try to figure out where he went.

It can help masterminds as well, teleporting an enemy into a mess of pets and debuffs can make short work of him.
  21. I'd really like the first one. Or to at least have the empty tabs default behind the ones I actually use. It always take a bit of unnecessary clicking so my low-level characters can check how many salvage slots they have left.
  22. Way back in the day, before powers got suppressed instead of toggled off when you got held, Practiced Brawler was superior to toggle-based mez protection. It self stacks, so so you can have extra-high-mag protection depending on your recharge slotting, and if you got held through your protection (say by a dominator in PvP), it keeps right on proctecting. That was a bigger deal when it was possible to de-toggle.
  23. I'm working on a Plant/Elec now. Elec doesn't have much AoE and VS is kind of a crappy power, IMO. It's nice in that Roots can mitigate the knockback of the melee powers if you don't want to smack them out of melee range. Also, Build Up is always good to have.

Plant/Fire would be very strong, though. Seeds plus Roots plus Embrace of Fire plus Fireball and Rain of Fire sounds quite deadly to the enemy and safe for you.
  24. Don't forget that the Envemoned Dagger temporary power can give you a bit of -regen. I doubt it's enough on its own, but every little bit helps.

    Do want.

I kinda wish I had put a content revamp in my top five. I would love to streamline blueside so the missions take place in the same zone you get them in, and get rid of 90% of the street hunts.
