I think it's a joke based on the name. PEAT, as in moss, as in peat moss.

To those who think that solo players don't deserve the powers: I disagree.
I can play any powerset I like solo. If I want to unlock EATs, I can do that solo. It may have taken a couple months before the unlock level was dropped, but it was still available no matter the play style.
Now we're presented with a lot of new powers. Yay! I like new powers. Except some people think I shouldn't be allowed to have them because I can't team. Unfortunately for them, they don't pay my subscription fees, so they don't get to make my game decisions.
Paragon Studios can, though. They decided I have to pay a great deal of various in-game currencies and play the same character for months or years on end if I want to get these powers. I don't even know if City of Heroes will still be alive in 2.7 years.
No thanks. I've cancelled my subscription. It makes me sad. -
When I had this problem (ATI card), turning off Ultra Mode water options worked to stop the crashing.
-
Maybe a bright aura like when you collect meteor pieces for a Shivan shard would help?
-
I'm really, really tired of hearing that not wanting to team is some sort of character flaw.
There are several powers in this game that give me crippling migraines. I don't play those powersets, but a lot of other people do. If I'm anywhere near them, I have to leave the area immediately if I want to function as a human being for the next two days.
Teaming is not an option for me.
Apparently, that makes me subhuman and unworthy of advancing my characters. -
There are several graphical and a few sounds effects in the game that give me migraines. Previously, I dealt with it by not teaming and not playing those sets. Now that I can't earn all the powers in game in a reasonable time frame on my own, I'm dealing with it by unsubscribing.

Quote:Does this mean I can stop shielding (ice/cold Corr) the whole league too??? But seriously maybe the time table is diff for the shields as compared to the SB thang 'cause I always find enough time to do my *snap*crackle*pop* icy goodness 'specially my new judgement powah.
Don't forget that SB has half the duration of the shield buffs. SB needs to be applied every two minutes.
If I played a Kin, I wouldn't want to SB a whole league, either. -
As I mentioned in the other thread, turning off Ultra Mode water options should stop the crashing. Hopefully it will be fixed someday.
-
That sounds like the ATI crash bug. It may fix it if you turn off all Ultra-Mode water options.

The solo path has been calculated to be very long and expensive. I believe it's on the order of 1.6 billion influence per Very Rare and 2.7 years of playing daily and converting shards to threads to get Very Rares in the four I20 slots.
You can looks at some numbers in Dispari's guide. -
Has anyone tried Ageless Destiny with crash nukes? Is it worth it? Or is it still better to just carry blues?
-
I've already stated that I intent to leave the game because of the addition of this grind. I feel like feedback against the grind was ignored. That's the position I'm posting from.

That's actually a macro syntax. If you were to type "/bind Boom" in game, it would attempt to bind a command to the Boom key. My keyboard sucks, and does not have a boom key. "/macro Boom" will create a button in your action tray that will say "Boom" on it, though.

I find the soft control of Stone Melee to be really useful. I've been playing a SM/WP brute in Praetoria.
If you also play in Praetoria, be warned that Clockwork can really wreck Willpower's day. I turned the difficulty up because once WP gets Rise to the Challenge, I actually feel safer in a large group. Then the Clockwork taught me some humility. They have a lot of -regen. -
Dispari's Incarnate Guide has much of the information you are after. And, once again, Zombie Man was kind enough to write a guide as well. Keep in mind that the issue is still technically in beta, so things may change before it goes live next week.
If you're like me, you have the English forums bookmarked. To get to the threads covering I20's beta, you'll have to go to the board home. To get there without following the link, or in the future, just click the link at the top right. There's a line of links leading to here: City of Heroes Forums > English > Player help > etc. Just click the one that says City of Heroes Forums. -
Unfortunately, the pictures on the Wiki are a bit hard to see, but this one seems to show some pretty ripped abs. -
For what it's worth, I have tested I20. The new content is interesting mechanically, and I'm sure it will be fun when it goes live. The first or second time. Repeating it after that is just not for me.

Quote:This is a flat lie. Seriously man I went AFK in that mission on my Dom who didn't have Sos yet, and 30 minutes later i was still standing there.
You made that up.
'cause I obviously have a reason to lie about that. I'm so cool I had to pop inspirations when I was supposed to be unkillable.
I had the difficulty at +4/x8, with bosses and AVs, just 'cause I knew I should be able to survive it. Somewhere in the forth wave, some of the Legacy Chain got lucky and hit me with their immobs, which allowed more of them to hit me with their immobs, which allowed other things to start hitting consistently.
I popped what greens and oranges I had and ran away to let the debuffs wear off. After that I was fine again, if a bit embarrassed.
Hubris bites another on the butt. -
I did the Vincent Ross arc on my Fortunata. Even with all the ridiculous buffs at the end, a couple of the Legacy Chain guys got their earth immobs stacked on me, and I nearly ate pavement due to cascading defense failure. DDR is good stuff, even if you don't need it much of the time.

Quote:If I didn't want to cut down trees, I wouldn't join the lumberjack club. However, when my sewing circle starts asking me to cut down trees, it's time for a different sewing circle. That doesn't apply to this situation at all (and good lord is that analogy morbid).
Try this: I'm glad I'm only trimming one shrub and not cutting down six trees.
And to cut down the trees I first need to fell one with an axe. After that, I get a saw. I have to use the saw to fell two trees, and then I get a chainsaw to fell the final three.
That's what it's like to compare CoX's trials to WoW's raiding.
And the example was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. No actual puppies or grandmothers are in danger. -
I agree. That's one of my favorite things about Villain and Praetorian missions. Another is the rarity of street hunts.
The Peregrine Island Carnie hunts kinda make me want to hurt things. -
Quote:There is no 'complaint in this thread.' The thread was an inquiry to the players as to whether or not they feel there's an upcoming grind ahead. After having played WoW (also known as the DEVIL) for two years and running raid after raid after raid after raid to get what I want (see: 202 runs through MC just to get my Might gear back before Burning Crusade pissed all over raiding guilds with the Arena system) I can safely say I will NOT find the new trials to be a grind. If they really will take about an hour, then bring it. I can manage something like that. Screw these 4-hours-a-night-5-nights-a-week raids in other games.
I don't mean to pick on you specifically. I've seen this sentiment a couple times recently and I don't really get it.
Just because you could theoretically be running over my grandmother doesn't mean I should be grateful you're only kicking my puppy. -
Envenom has a to-hit check, so unless you're using it as a set mule, you'll want some accuracy in it. I really recommend it, because Envenom is part of what makes Poison so good at taking out single targets.
I'm really inexperienced with builds, so that's about all I can offer.
