Hi,
I have decided to stop avoiding this AT, and decided I will try my hand at an Electric Melee/Ninjitsu. The only problem is, my build could get eight times better and still charitably be called a train wreck. Care to give a little constructive criticism? I'm specifically looking for "pick this power earlier/later/not at all," and the same basic sort of info for slots.
I don't really have the time/money to throw Set Pieces around, so to start he'll stick with SOs and IOs. The one notable exception is the Karma -KB piece.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Are there any Defender-specific Cold/Ice guides out there? I've got a Corruptor build that I'm moderately okay with, but when I try and flip it around to make a Defender, the whole thing falls to pieces. Any advice anyone's got to give would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a ton.

Hey there,
(I haven't read through the whole thread, so I don't know if this has already been discussed, sorry.)
I was wondering if the Merit Reward system mentioned for I13 will be in effect for Story Arcs, or only for TF/Trials. If not, I hope the Devs will seriously consider its implementation. The rewards for Story Arcs have become quite devalued (ever since I9, SOs pretty much just exist to be sold), and this would be a good way to bring them back up to par. Even if it's not "paying off" at the same level as the other activities, I still think the idea warrants consideration.

If anyone's got thoughts on a Thugs/Storm, I'd love to hear them!
Thanks.

One question I have though, is Flashback going to allow a character to do all the missions from a contact or just the story arcs?
[/ QUOTE ]
Story Arcs and Badge missions.
[/ QUOTE ]
Positron, can you make sure that the Striga stuff counts as a "story arc?" I have a character or two that I'd like to unlock the Hess TF with. The fact that you get the little book by the contact while they're being worked on gives me reason for optimism, but I just wanted to get that out there.

Hi there,
This looks like quite the interesting build. I'm thinking of ditching my Shade's Nova form myself (she's lvl 23 right now), only because Tri-form is something I've already done to death on my PB. But let me ask, you really don't find your slotting of the base of Black Dwarf to be a bit light? My initial impulse is to take some/most/all of the slots you've got in Stygian Circle and put them into the Dwarf. I'd love to hear your thoughts on why it's not the liability I want to think it is at first impression.
Thanks, and be cool.

I like Super Jump because of its combination of speed and vertical movement. It's also handy in PvP. It's a maintenance power, though. It's difficult to chat when you constantly hold down the spacebar. (Yeah, I know...remap the key!)

Remap the key? Zuh?

Every time I've tried this out, I end up getting stuck under a ledge or something similar.
Every.
Time.
Flight still gets my vote for ease of use.

Great guide. A quick question: is Orbiting Death's end cost really as high as COH/COV Builder's stated 1.56? That seems absurdly high.

Gen_X, I don't think much changed for an Inv/SS in I7 (heck, did anything really change?). IV's still on the money.

I only just got around to Caging stuff I5-style for the first time tonight (didn't take my Kin/Elec over to test). I could lock guys down pretty thoroughly on 1acc 2hold and Hasten. Not as long as before, but long enough for my needs.
Good stuff, Q.

P.S. Umm, did you mean "should" or "shouldn't?" -
[ QUOTE ]
Ahh. So this is a sorta nerf in a way for those who spent countless hours on the monkeys to achieve something, only to have wasted all that time in the end. Like so many did with Hamidon and Hami-Os. Bangs head against wall.
[/ QUOTE ]
Great googly moogly, people will really call anything a nerf, won't they? I'm sorry you spent a lot of time you wouldn't have to if you'd known and waited, but walk it off, man.

Trust me, it locks. When I did that TF a few months back, I tried to go outside to see how close behind a teammate was, and couldn't get out. Generator started crying like he'd gotten lost in a department store. Fine, *not* my most heroic moment...

Hey there,
This looks like an awesome help to me in trying to get my own PB off the ground. I'm going to see if there's a way to make this work as an initial build (you had advocated respeccing in, but I'm not a fan of planned-respec builds, just my preference is all).
You mention being scared off of Dawn Strike by the Endurance crash. Since you'll have Stamina, if this is anything like TB/Nova/Inferno you will still have some End recovery, just not as fast as normal. The only reason I point this out is because you explicitly mentioned in your preface that you rose through the ranks as an AR/Dev, so I don't know if you've got any experience with the full-blue-bar-wipeout powers. This might not be enough info to change your opinion of Dawn Strike, but like I said, I figured I'd at least raise the point.
Thanks again for the post.

good point... but (Taking your Devil's advocate Hat for a sec...don't worry I'll give it back)
Would that be so bad? I mean what if you haven' promoted anyone, but that guy who was your first member at level ten and has played his way up to 50 when you disappeared off the face of the earth... I mean it could happen that that is the best thing for the group.
[/ QUOTE ]
You're right, it could happen that way, but as a betting man I'm putting my money against that possibility. If I didn't see fit to make them an Officer in the first place, do I want them making leader just because they've been there a long time? 2nd spot in 2 days I can make the Rimmer reference (yes, from R E D Dwarf, me have brain by Superadine!).

Here's your hat back, and nice job on sewing the souls of the damned into such a flattering chapeau. The Ostrich feathers are a nice touch too.

See, that's the key, using the whole ostrich. You wore it well, too, yay for women in hats...

Ownership passes to the next Oldest ( been in group the longest) player
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd say passes to next oldest Officer. As written your method is possibly giving someone a 2-rank bump.
Gatecrasher -
If I may play Devil's Advocate here on a request I've seen a few times here...
What do more ranks buy you? Can you really think of ten functionally different levels of membership, or is this just a "pecking order" thing?
I'll add my voice to logo and color changeability as well.
Gatecrasher -
In general, we need to be able to do something about inactive top-level leaders. Taser, in my case the inactive who's clogging the roster *is* the SG founder. He left due to RL issues, been inactive for months and months and I can't do a thing about it.

POWER NAME Rise of the Phoenix
DESCRIPTION: If you are defeated, you can rise from the ashes. The fiery resurrection blasts nearby foes with an explosion and knocks them down. You will revive with about half of your Hit Points and Endurance. Rise of the Phoenix will actually leave you invulnerable for a brief time. You must have two other Flame Mastery Powers before selecting this power.
[/ QUOTE ]
IF you are defeated. As a Blaster? That's dandy, ho-ho, that's rich, I'll say! Let's change that to "when" and be done with it, eh?

Massive allegations of voter fraud will disqualify most of the villain votes. I mean honestly, there's like 3,500 guys running around this city claiming to be "Hellion Brawler!" -
There was *really* a rock temp power? I made what I thought was just a smartmouthed reply to someone saying that was what the rock was. Teach me to think I'm being clever!
Of course, I think that tankers should get the Hurl animation for their rocks...
