Lol, that's kinda strange.
It happened to me aswell, I couldn't download any of the files on Firefox. I tried opening up that link and it gave the same error.
Now when I pasted the link to Internet Explorer and opened it via IE (or just ftp://ftp.ncsoft.com/ -> Coh -> Movies -> Podcasts ) it works again, even in Firefox. That seems to bypass the whole error.
Someone messed up while setting up those videos. -

Only a handful of story arcs are really evil. Then there's the mayhem missions and repeatable warzone missions, but the newspaper missions are load of ****.
You'll mainly spend time fighting other villains in CoV, not heroes. You'll get disappointed pretty often lemme tell ya.
I'm sticking with CoV though, at first it was because I was expecting to do evil things, but now it just seems that CoV has majority of the better -.....ok I think I'll hold that sentence, lol. -
Quote:Yeah, me too. That's why I wasn't quite satisfied with this natural booster. But I got a pretty strong intuition that there will be more thematic boosters, mercenaries and soldiers may be one of them, who knows.I do seriously hope we get stuff like SWAT armour, NPC parts and suchnot.
I have been wanting those parts for my characters and AE enemies quite a while now. -
Quote:Lol, yeah I remember all those costume pieces my SoA got in i16, that was sick.We still get a fair share of free costume pieces with the basic price of subscription. Depending on your view of it, in I16, we got a boatload of new "costume pieces" in the form of power colorization/customization. In I15, we got the Ulterior and Vines costume sets. In I14, female widows got buttcapes. I13 gave us a number of other costume pieces and costume sets as well.
You can't say that the devs haven't continued to give out free costume pieces and character customization options for the price of your basic subscription without having it be an outright lie. We're still getting them for free. We're just getting the option to buy more costume pieces (along with a bunch of other stuff) for free as well.
Issue 15 had ulterior, which was basicaly just a new thights pattern and vines that are just a new detail for thights (it's pretty easy to miss them aswell because they are so god damn subtle.)
But yeah in all honesty, the roman costume pieces were cool, same for the vanguard pieces. They were all pretty neat and part of an issue, you have me there. But that was issue 10, which was 2007, I think. The roman pieces were in issue 12, which was last year...I think. Oh yeah then there were some normal jackets and things in issue 13, aswell.
Surely the boosters are (kind of) cool additions, but I just find it kind of odd that some of us (including me) go "oh this booster should have this and that, that'd be sick!" while we just used to wish for them to be part of an issue, not pay separately.
That's just me, but I got them jimmy legs and little muffin hands. -
Yeah I haven't bought any of the boosters yet, I was going to buy the magic booster, because of the hoods, but it turned out that the temp was useless to me.
I'm still waiting for a booster that contains natural themed clothing, not martial art robes. I'm talking about hoodies, masks (porcelain, hockey, ballistic), vests, knee and elbow pads, pretty much the stuff you already have in games like APB. Someone came up with a rumor that the natural booster would contain thug themed clothing and I was kind of hyped, but as it turns out we got something completely different.
I also thought of country flags as capes once, but that would probably be too much work for the devs.
Or we could just get the costume pieces "for free" with the "free" updates, you know just like in the past, just an idea. -
Yeah, overall this positive/negative rep, thumbs up/thumbs down, good comment/bad comment stuff is dumb as hell. Youtube and Gametrailers have it for example.
Some people take it to heart and don't post a comment that doesn't contain praise, because they're so afraid of getting negative points or something.
I don't care myself, but if there's ability to disable it (like in youtube when you upload a video) then I will.
Funge it, I say. -
Quote:Lmao!More like
Green is for sycophantic fanbois who make gushing posts to the devs and need each others love and support to convince themselves they're not as insular and narrow minded *** everyone thinks.
Red is for: Dared to say something against the forum cartel, constant posters or suggest there is anything wrong with the game.
Grey is for: **** you all.
Well said, mate, well said.
Kiss me. -
Quote:You can use that particular helmet to make something that resembles Master Chief from Halo. With that said, the plain "Warrior" half helmet is great and look like it can be combined with a lot of options. I never really liked the dome & bullet half helmets that came standard.
I didn't try it myself, but my friend was showing me the pack earlier.
I'm serious, I got friends. -

Quote:lolAnd now we've come full circle again.
YOUR definition of what "good looking" is is different from what MY definition is, and are both different from what each and every other person in existence's definition of what "good looking" is. Sometimes you have to pay a little extra for it, sometimes you won't have to. That's the way "real life" works. It all averages out in the end.
The folks at Paragon and NCSoft have chosen this route for giving us new things. Like it or not, it's not going to change anytime soon. Lucky for us, they've made the boosters totally optional, and given us the ability to decide if the cool bits in a booster outweigh the cost of buying the stuff that's not so cool, or not buying it at all.
Yeah I know, ulterior and vines were just amazing, think they are the best costumes so far.
Ok seriously, the roman armor was cool addition and the day job issue clothes, but other than that it has been pretty ****. Oh yeah then there was the vanguard armor, but that was issue 10.
I got used to having something new other than few worn out patterns per issue, but I'm messed up in the head like that. -
Quote:Yeah, there will probably be more boosters after all the origins have been used. And this sums up my feeling about all the boosters. I think they are all great, but yes, they are all niche and I hope for more niches too be filled in later boosters.
But personally I find that both nice and ********.
Nice in the essence that there may still be a modern merc/soldier booster with flack jackets, tactical vests, knee and elbow pads and what not.
I would have also preferred that "thug booster" which was rumored to be the theme for this hunk of **** natural booster, but it turned out to be just a rumor. The booster could have had hoodies, jeans, hockey masks and the temp power could have been named something like cocai-....superadine fueled killing spree. Ok I kid.
But what kind of pisses me off in this whole ordeal is when I remember the times when good looking costume pieces were "free." -
Quote:Yeah, that's the long version how I feel about this entire situation. Especially about the mercs.I heard Nick Fury is looking for you. Something about needing to kick your butt...
Seriously though, there are tons of "Natural" flavored heroes out there in different canons. Ever hear of a little character from the early 20th century--now mostly forgotten--called Batman? How about Daredevil? Yeah he had sonar-like senses, but beyond that, all natural. All the Watchmen but one were naturals. Most merc, agent and superspy characters are natural including Brock Sampson and that femme fetal Molatov. There are oodles of "natural" options conceptually. This could have been turned into the Rob Liefeld Memorial Pouches Everywhere Pack, but alas... not a hip pouch in sight. Nor a single detail that echoes the profound coolness that the Knives of Artemis get to sport everyday and flaunt in our general direction--such as knife holsters around boots and hip holsters for guns. I won't even go into back details. We've been waiting--some of us--literally for years now for those. I REALLY SINCERELY hope GR finally includes a back detail costume slot.
*sigh* Regardless, I bought it, but I am on the disappointed bandwagon for this costume pack. I have one character, an egomaniacal Moleman and his army of ninja servants that may make good use of some of these costume bits. And I have a FEW other characters that will use the ninja run regularly, one because he looks good with it. The others because it gives them the acrobatic flair when jumping that I always envisioned for them. And the costume change emotes are good alternatives for theatric characters and vigilantes. But this pack really doesn't have the broad appeal for me that even the odd bits and totally repurposable pieces of the Super Science Booster.
I think it's a feat that they have been able to make bunch of boosters and none of them has got me intressed. Well to be fair, the magic booster looked appealing, especially the hood option, but I'm not paying money for a hood and a temp power that doesn't work on my own character.
Quote:Yeah, I love how the technology booster lets me create a wide variety of technology-based heroes, and how the science booster doesn't just restrict me to the whole 'mad scientist' look. The natural booster restricting me to martial arts has zero precedent and is totally unfair!
lol
Ok this booster has one positive aspect which was already said, you can make the shredder.
Although I already did that once in Eu with the samurai pieces, but it doesn't look quite as good, unless your childhood shredder had a huge ******* head.
He did wear a purple cape though. -
Lol yeah, that's the key.
Quote:But I was really hoping for more "universal" Natural choices than only a bunch of martial arts stuff. I'm not really interested in making ninjas so the booster sounds like a dud to me personally. Everyone who wanted something like this though, I'm happy for ya.
Oh well, more ninja costumes was such a common request anyway.
You'll pay for this Captain Planet!!!!!! -

Where's that ******* walking emote for carrying stolen television or pushing shopping trolleys.
Then we might actually have something. -
Quote:Yeah, I seriously doubt this will pick up among our speeder group either, unless they want to tick off the more vocal members of the pack and just mess around while trying their patience.None of the folks I team with regularly are RPers, so I doubt I'll be seeing a lot of them using it.
Also me and my friend were trying test earlier today and he did the walk animation while he had his weapon pulled out. The way he waved the weapon around while walking was, again, very amusing.
I don't know if this whole walking thing is suppose to be menacing/cool/epic or something, but it just looks goofy to me, to say the least.
lol -
Quote:I prefer. Not everyone plays for "content" or even defines "content" the same way. And I don't think there are any animations that could be added that would qualify as content anyway. So if animators (BABs) have free time and are fooling around, they can either do things like this, make new emotes or alternate attacks for power customization (which aren't content), or twiddle their thumbs. Which do you prefer?
But truth to be told and insanity aside, I feel slightly guilty now for dragging that "content" thing there. Bit like being caught playing with a zippo, it's never a good idea.
Maybe I'm just having too much fun with this feature, despite the fact I'm not going to use it when it hits the live servers.
What a mean bloke. =( -

Quote:I hear that. The female walk is very sexy. Maybe a little too sexy
Imagine a cat-walk model if you haven't seen it yet
The huge walking reminds me of an astronaut with two mangos stuck under armpits.
And the normal body type still reminds me of Monty Python's "Military fairy".
-
I haven't seen the female walk style, but I couldn't contain laughter when I saw my "normal body type" character walk. I don't dare to say what it reminds me of, but the way those characters walk is funny as hell.
Also the trench coats really don't work with the walk toggle. -
I thought that the natural booster would be the first pack I purchase, but it seems I was wrong again.
******* bulletproof vests or hoodies. -

Quote:Yeah I ******* dislike those arachnid elite bosses. As for Captain Dynamic, I think he's equivalent in strength to an Arachnid Elite Boss, about the same regen rate and attack power. In other words, there's an in game, dev created creature on par with him that the devs expect the average player to face.
If by crazy regen you guys are talking about the Instant Healing the custom EB pulls off at the beginning of the battle, then there's a small difference. Aarachnid regen doesn't go away by sitting in a corner after agroing the enemy.
Also the custom SR bosses use elude the moment they are agroed, just a fun fact.
When I fought the Captain Dynamic, he was a +2 (I think) EB and after the IH had ended, he was pretty easy to take down. I was playing my VEAT.
The defensive potential of custom EBs is not that different. But the damage output with some sets puts AV's to shame. Super strenght with KO blow is one example, but I also remember a MA Eb that hit me 900 with a shuriken.
