Yeah I have been wondering what the hell is a single target hold doing in the bane secondary.

Bane with leadership, why not just crab with leadership. It's the same power and it's available for both branches.
Ok. On more serious note.
Sure the redraw and animations make my bane build feel almost like a tank (the vehicle, not AT), clunky as hell, but at the same time not being as sturdy.
No matter how many QoL changes they do to the mace, it is not going to remedy the problem I have with banes; they don't survive well when fight goes downhill for them.
When the fight goes hectic, there is hardly anything that stops bane from dying, other than the defence (which in order to get to acceptable level needs bunch of damn third power pools and set bonuses). Especially when the enemies pull attacks that deal -def you know you're screwed.
Rest of the VEAts seem to have some sort of panic power, even crab has heal. So what is bane suppose to do when they are about to bit the dust, pop bunch of greens and run? -
The reason me and my friends play shorter story arcs is because we are bit tired of running (solo and team) into these really tedious long story arcs. Custom mobs that look like crap with stupid power picks and tedious missions (defeat alls on huge maps.) When we're "stuck" with an arc like that for 5 missions, me and my mates notice the fun suddenly turning into a chore. I have only seen few long arcs that are interesting enough to sit through.
With shorter arcs we get to see more different things in shorter time. And if we do not fancy the arc, atleast it will be over soon.
Oh and not to mention the frustration of breezing through a long arc solo only to meet a joke EB in the end. 2k damage meelee and 1k ranged.
Reminds me of this one arc I did when AE was new. 5 missions full of push-over mobs, easy stuff. In the end however I met mr. broadsword/storm EB with build up, -acc, immob, fly, headsplitter with insane damage and ambushes coming everytime his HP dropped.
Not to mention the entire fight went down on a small map, so yeah, it wasn't worth it. -
I have some dangerous quick thoughts.
If I were to tweak banes, and I would, I would give the bane armor additional passive +def all (or alternatively make the +ranged def passive grant +def all when you go bane branch) that cannot be debuffed and perhaps cannot be enhanced. I would also lift the mez protection of the power.
I would also give surveillance -acc and maybe make it a toggle or up the duration.
Then I would give rest of the powers (could be done on other powers than just bane) the redraw feature of Darkest Night.
You know, with Darkest Night when you activate the power you dont have to put your weapon away, but it doesnt draw it for you either.
I have a feeling they refuse to add new powers to the bane secondary, but if they did, banes could use a panic power of some sort. -

I'm personally hoping for fast animations and recharge on several powers to allow for a nearly constant barrage of bullets.

Was thinking of the worst case scenario.
But I didn't mean that it'd have the same powers, but rather that dual pistols would be just a new cone oriented set with (almost) all lethal damage. Or more lethal-heavy version of archery.
But like I said, that scenario came up as one that devs will hopely avoid considering the time they spent on the powerset.
I have a feeling devs share the concern, because if they didn't we would have some medicore pistols set already.
There's been many request for dual pistols and akimbo pistols for ages now, but just now they are about to deliver. -
Yeah I'm hoping the devs are actually making a new and different powerset to play. Not one that barely just involves wielding two smaller fire arms simultaneously instead of a one bigger one.
But I have my hopes up, considering how long the "akimbo pistols" spent time "on paper".
I was actually thinking of making DP/Dark corruptor, bit like the comic and 360 game The Darkness, but with going rogue I have a feeling my new villain will be a blaster.
I always liked the idea of blaster, the problem was just that they were on the wrong side. -

I did that too for the nemesis rifle in Eu.
I found the modified fake nemesis mission from TV to be the best.
Like said they are marked on map and if you set your difficulty to villainous they spawn as lieautenants which makes killing them faster.
Then I reseted by relogging I think. -

And on more serious matter, I am glad that they finally are going to release dual pistols. My personal guess is corruptors and blasters.
And yeah there were alot of stuff, debating and flat out arguing going on after Positron said that he would like to make akimbo pistols (think it was Warcry interview). Whenever they would or would not fit scrappers. Definitively more than 5.
But yeah, I'm pretty keen to see how they pulled it off. I mean there were many different types of suggestions for pistols and their powers due to the general concern of them becoming just another archery/assault rifle. But we shall see how the duel* pistols ended up in the hands of devs.
Personally I hope they will become something that stands out in powers, I mean they spent alot of time "on the paper".

That's very, very harsh way to put it and opening can of worms is not something I desire to do...
...but in this case I have to agree.
While I am not that "glad" that people get their arcs banned, it doesn't make me jump around and go "Woah! Hot crap Dave, they got their arcs banned!"
However,I feel that everything has it's time and place and MMO, no matter how lovely the people you play with are, is not exactly great for voicing these kind of things. -
Yeah, I dislike using the stock mobs too as a crucial part of the story.
I like making custom mobs, because I like to have more plausible looking mobs in my arcs. For example you can't find generic looking bad guys who wear ski masks and use sub machine guns in the actual in-game roster.
But the other day I got a feedback which went something like "Your arc is nearly unplayable because of the mobs. We had to quit it early on because the arc is impossible, shame tho because it seemed like an interesting story."
So I begun sending /tells and asking what part in particular makes it harder. You see I actually try to change the difficulty in the arcs rather than replying "oh well, maybe you should make a brute or stop sucking, I like challenge!!!"
So it turned out the guys were lvl 16 and I checked it out on my lvl 17 brute just to see what they were talking about.
And yeah, guess what, I got mauled. My 2nd mission had these armed security guards with AR/Em and they totally destroyed me.
Something is indeed wrong here.
Also on a side-note, I don't think Elite Bosses should deal 2,2k damage with a single attack on a lvl 50 player.
Add in unstoppable and you got yourself a winner. Also when that happens during the very last mission of the arc, a complete joke.
Send constructive feedback about it and get a reply saying "Well excuse me, princess, but that's the way I like MMYYYYYYYYYYY arc!"

And yeah I know, the players can't influence their EB damage too much.
And the ranged attack change still hasn't fixed the "run all over the place like a retard" bug that occurs with bosses. -

But yeah, CoV should have been planned so that you could be a supervillain, not locked into this Destined One Bullsh**. All the contacts just order you what to do, but freedom of choice comes with alot of work and limitations.
My friend made an arc where you unleash a virus into Paragon City and the contact in it is suppose to be as passive as possible.
He also tried to make it sound like majority of the things you do are your idea, not the contacts.
Also I don't know how anyone could be a busy villain with AE when majority of the villainous arcs suck and the dev made content follows the formula "Do something evil. do something more evil, go overboard, get scolded at, make it right."
But yeah, again with the Westin Phipps. The reason he appelaed to me was that as a villain (never played heroes again when villain lvl cap was raised to 50) I want to cause as much suffering as possible.
You know, kil...erm, defeating innocents, ruining lifes, breaking families apart, blowing up stuff, burning stuff up and see the possible happy ending not happening.
For example the Freakshow teacher trying to be rescued, the rescue attempt being thwarted and Westin talking about torturing her and broadcasting it live around Rogue Isles.
As for conquering the world, it's hard to make that stuff convincingly, atleast I havent seen one that would convince me "Guess what, you conquered the world".
They should have added a zone bit like mayhem mission and RV combined where the city morphs as you tear it apart. -
Everyones claiming to create these really villanious arcs, but they still seem to evade me.
Hell I take anything that makes me feel like playing a villain instead of a hero. But in the end what do I get? I get to fight other villain groups, demons (I actually counted, 5 of the villainous arcs I did today had demons in them as enemies) and some vaguely (non-)interesting hero group.
Then there are the villainous arcs which are just meant for quick laughs like "Defeat Santa Claus".
Yeah, that's funny.
When we actually start getting truly villainous content, we can start discussing about arcs that let you conquer and crush peons.
And Westin Phipps was brilliant, now whatever will he do with a blind mother and her daughter, Hmmmm.

I have exactly the same complaint. The "villainous" setting on player-made arcs is just an afterthought.
Most of the time you end up fighting demons (getting pretty sick of fighting custom group demons, because almost every arc seems to have them) or some completely irrelevant hero group, custom or not.
But I have done some pretty evil things in some arcs, just listing the things briefly without advertising.
*One had me kidnap contacts family, take them to Vazhilok, only to rescue them later and find that they have been all chopped up
(exposed brains etc.)
*One had me kil...erm, defeated bunch of Water Treatment Plant engineers and there was a hint that one of them was going to be a father
*One had me release virus into the Paragon City and destroy the humanitarian help arriving to the scene and the only hero who can cure the virus. The city was also full of NPC fights between the infected pedestrians and PPD.
*In one arc I had to kil....erm, defeat bunch of vigilante militia priests and nuns who were helping local homeless people.
When I beated up the priests around one homeless NPC, the NPC said "I can't handle this violence!", barfed on the floor and ran away.
But yeah, as far as I recall that's all of them. Most of the "villainous" arcs lack when it comes to feeling "bad.": -

I think it's a bug with AI, one of the many.
I don't think it is anything that you particularly trigger.
For example, I quit this rather promising arc because the EB was possessed with this bug. I couldn't kill him because he kept running all over the place without standing still for a moment. All this because I shot him 2 times from range.
The only way to stop the running is to enter meelee range, but when the opponent is EM elite boss, might as well quit the arc. -

The warehouse map with those huge silos and tables with boxes full of superadine.
