* Framerate drop when exiting a mission
[/ QUOTE ]
Whenever I've had this bug I've been able to remove it by using a kheldian shapeshift and then returning to normal form. Going into first person mode is another workaround. -
I didn't find much useful info in the guide. Mostly just a lot of complaints about how AR doesn't properly imitate real life firearms.
Also, an AoE mag 3 hold for blasters? lol, you crazy. -
Glad you wrote this. I always wondered how end reducing enhancements truly affect endurance. Now I know!
-
I'm getting confused by all these melee AT ranged attacks that need to be given the melee modifier. Obviously the ranged damage modifier isn't high enough for them, so what's the problem with increasing that?
-
I'd go for this. My lightning storm could act as a goalie!

a tank shouldnt need a self res
[/ QUOTE ]
Reading between the lines you're saying that tankers should never die.
[/ QUOTE ]
More like saying that tankers shouldn't expect to die more than other ATs that don't have self-rez powers.
"Here, take this self rez power instead of a power that helps you survive or kill things. You're going to need it."
[/ QUOTE ]
"Here, take this self rez that if things go bad, you can get back up and try to get it back under control instead of lying around dead."

Hm, sounds to me like some people prefer powers that help in emergencies while others prefer powers that prevent emergencies. Isn't it nice that we have greatly varied powersets that people can choose from to suit their play style?
Translation: many people enjoy rise of the phoenix. If you want to play a powerset with a click unstoppable style power then do so. I see no reason to change RotP so that it's just like every other ninth power. -

Heheh, I think this is the second time that Castle not being serious about the patch notes has caused some craziness. It seems we have found his greatest weakness.

It allegedly does splash damage 'like shadow maul'--this according to Camma, and she seems fairly trustworthy (suspicious covert glance).
[/ QUOTE ]
I speak from most tragic first hand experience when I say that the electric melee attack is horrible. There are two parts to the attack, the single target damage and the splash damage. The thing you're targeting gets hit by both the single target attack and the splash damage, and the only way you'll hit more than your target with the splash damage is if someone is dry humping the target. Both the single target damage and the splash damage are very subpar. My close range blast power from energy does slightly less damage than this, has a much faster animation, recharges much faster, and costs much less endurance. The splash damage is about 40 points at level 50, making it absolutely NOTHING like shadow maul.
I wish I had never taken this power, and am sad that so far there are nothing but good things in I7 making it likely that I won't be seeing another free respecification any time soon. Please add this information to your guide so that others may avoid the terrible mistake that I have made in putting slots into this shih tzu of a power.
One more thing, this guide has made my love for you stronger than ever and has made me consider rethinking my concept build. It's just too bad that it would never work between us. -

Now, if you really wanna do a fix for TA/A defenders... Make Exploding Arrow do Smashing/Fire instead of Smashing/Lethal damage. The effect is a giant fireball so it would make sense and would give a better synergy to the two sets.
[/ QUOTE ]
Uhm, I guess lethal damage makes sense if we take shrapnel into account, and explosions surely cause smashing damage, but the lack of fire damage in this equation is boggling me. -
Bandwagon joined. Amazing how I was able to condense my overall game view into four characters.

There are a few things not consistent with plaques and badges quoted below. Simple enough to fix one way or another. I like the story we have NOW, as opposed to what a plaque describes.[ QUOTE ]
Kelly Graham never thought she was destined for greatness. That changed one night when she was walking home from her job in the Crey secretarial pool. She came upon an innocent woman being dragged into an alley by some masked men. Kelly called out for help, to no avail. As her fear and anger grew, she launched herself toward the alley. After a blur of flying, energy blasting, and healing light... Galaxy Girl was born.
[/ QUOTE ][ QUOTE ]
Dauntless was Galaxy Girl's sidekick until he died in battle, defending his mentor with his last breath.
[/ QUOTE ][ QUOTE ]
This plaque commemorates the death of Galaxy Girl, who fell in battle with the Rikti. When it became obvious that the heroes would have to fall back, Galaxy Girl insisted that she be the last to retreat. Remaining on the front lines, she used her healing light to save the lives of many of her retreating comrades. Witnesses say that she used her last bit of strength to heal her friend Ms. Liberty, rather than to save herself.
[/ QUOTE ]
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't think the first one is in conflict, it's just much more vague than Arctic's story.
I'm not so sure where the conflict is with the dauntless quote, the story doesn't mention him at all, unless you're talking about something I don't know about.
The third one is a definite conflict. I think the only way to explain it is that she's legendary and that certain untrue myths are circulating about her, and one of them is so well known that it got onto an official city history plaque.
In a related topic, I now think that Galaxy Girl is kinetics/force field. Force fields are her offensive set just like the ones bizarro Numina uses. The story mentions that she was "blasting evil-doers with bolts of force". This could be interpreted as energy blasts since few would say that those AREN'T forceful, but I think that it suggest a raw force, which would tie in more easily with her kinetic powers. -
Well the way I understand origin is it would be the events that led up to your character being a super powered vigilante, which would include gaining powers and possibly events that led them to the mindset to do what they do and/or the area in which they currently reside.
In short, both if appropriate, though I'm sure that power gaining would be enough. -
I've seen one of these for just about every online game I've been in, but this just might be the best one I've seen. Way to go!

I'd kill for the "final boss fight" of a Strike/Task Force to be a team of 5 different Boss or Elite Boss level villains/heroes that have witty dialogue, as well as complimentary powers and fighting tactics, instead of just a giant bag of HPs with the ability to one-shot squishies (AVs/Heroes).
[/ QUOTE ]
That . . . would make for the coolest end battle of any TF/SF. Having a spawn made up of an elite boss for every member of the team. Do you have ANY idea how fun that would be?
[/ QUOTE ]
Awesome idea. I suggest that a seperate topic be made for it in hopes of it getting more attention. -

Yes, my defender damage will surely make all stalkers shake in their boots!

My defender eats stalkers for brunch. Especially those silly ninjutsu stalkers with their lack of knockback defence. -

I thought of something...I bet the reason they are paying attention to Defenders is probably because we complain the least of any AT.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, I have been kicking and screaming about defenders for awhile. Add a few polite PMs with pertinent links, some mild begging and it is amazing what you can get a person who really does care about this game to do. The devs don't respond to everything that goes on around here but they take note of things. I expect that some things they expect, these changes don't go in untested they expect some feedback, it is when the feedback is not what they expected that I think they sit-up and take notice. Obviously a clear cut description in detail of what a player thinks is of issue with the game is much easier for them to read, and kudos for Blueeyed taking up the mantle here on the defender forums.
However, the devs are not omniscient. Something very important may get added to that list and they can very easily miss it. Thus, when issues become important to us it is important to discuss them fully and explore them fully not only for ourselves but just so that a developer wandering by has an opportunity to see just what issue is simmering on the pot currently. It may be something that they had no idea could even be an issue. On the other hand it may be something that they expected and can actually settle fairly quickly.
While complaining can be seen as a negative, our concerns about the game are a great tool for the developers to create a positive experience for the players who do not read these forums and simply play the game.

Most intelligent thing I have ever read here. I mean intelligent intelligent, TMS is in a whole other category with her intelligent comedy.
You deserve 6 stars and to become the winner of the dev for a day contest. -

After CoV beta ended, we decided we wanted to continue the idea, but being short on personnel, especially those who have an in depth knowledge of the powers system, we've not yet decided how to go about it. It will probably happen at some point in the not so distant future, but it is also possible we never get a properly trained core group to divvy up the responsibilities effectively.
[/ QUOTE ]
I volunteer. Seriously. I'll work for peanut wages and sleep in a cot under my desk.
[/ QUOTE ]
No, pick me! I don't even need a desk, just give me a computer for data mining and board trolling and I'll sleep under that!
In other news, I am completely serious, and if this becomes a position I will apply for it in a heartbeat. -

If you miss three times in a row, then your next attack will always hit.
[/ QUOTE ]So the minimum accuracy cap is actually 25% and not 5%? -
You want someone who works with the initial creation of villain groups, not the placement and situations of them. I suggest you PM manticore. And to answer your previous question, the malta are able to take so much punishment because they have advanced body armor and special training. Level one thugs have neither.
