confused yet? Try being teamed with him and people referring to him as Gand, I immediately think its meant for me

I like either to disable my enemies rendering them helpless, or to give massive dmg... (yes ive tried the stalker and the "high dps" all are talking about isnt there -_- or so it seems..) got a lvl 22 stalker and his AS is great! i luv it, but all the other skills seems pretty low dmg'ing. Also if you want a disabling Stalker it seems like you need an energi stalker AND I WONT DO THAT.. they are just so not stalker like imo :P but plz give me a little overview...

Well if you like to disable your enemies. I'd suggest Dominators & maybe corrupters. Stalkers are the best AT for that one big hit and can take down some AT in one hit or a few if done right.

If you enjoy your stalker I suggest stick with him. The other skills aren't as powerful as AS but aren't meant to be but they are still very useful

Well you're looking for something there is no easy answer to. No one AT can beat em all (which is why i love PvP in CoX)

All AT are useful in their own way. Some you will have an easier time with in 1 vs 1 but I'd suggest looking around in all the AT threads to get ideas.

Also depends on your play style, which do you prefer? Go with what you like. If you like going toe to toe, make a brute. If you like stealthy go stalker and so on.

Well sunday was supposed to be my last night but after I had said my goodbyes a friend 'pulled me aside' and had a long chat with me about some things I was finding iffy in game.

Well I got convinced to renew my subscription so I'll be around for a while longer and hopefully things will pan out. Sorry for taken up space on the boards and thanks again for all the kind words. I'll see ya in game i guess

Hey ladies and gents,

Just wanted to take a little time to say farewell to everyone I've gotten to know, teamed with and against in CoH & CoV for the last year. Once my subscription runs out at the end of the month I'll be hanging up my cape (if i had one ).

Who knows what the future brings. I might return someday but for now I'm just leaving for various reasons I wont get into. It's been a pleasure getting to know some of ya and its been good being part of such a great community, they aint all that commen these days

A special thanks goes out to my SG. Thanks for sticking up with me so long and thanks to all my friends, I wont mention names as I'd most likely forget someone

Nope. At lvl 50 a /kin controller will always be a better pick than a defender kin/. Corruptors are a bit better aswell - slighty higher damage and access to ice blast powers

Also had the pleasure of dueling a lvl 40 fire/kin corrupter in the arena & noticed his end drain is about as effective as mine which makes me more tempted to retire my defender from pvp

I agree with Nightbringer in what he said about domi's but you have to take into consideration that they will need to be teamed to be effective. A domi might not be able to hold someone for long but teamed with a stalker or two they don't need to (not taking insp into consideration or we could go on with our speculations) Now i know there's CM and what not to prevent holds.....but all in all it comes down to the players and what AT are on each team

Ok maybe i wasn't clear enough in what i was asking. At high level PvP lvl 50. Would it be worth playing a kinetic Defender compared to a kinetic controller or kinetic corrupter. I know their kin power is secondary and less potent. Does their Primary make up for the lack in secondary though? what do you think?

Noticeably you won't SEE a big difference really. Except maybe in the heals/end drain. Don't think the dmg buff would be much different of course this is just my speculations as I haven't actually got any numbers on it.

Oh and yeah sorry for forgetting to mention PN as a defender in sirens

I've hardly ever noticed any defenders in Sirens. In fact i can count the ones I've seen in there on one hand. TG, Tyl, G-Zeus & Dead Calm and even they are rarely there with those toons from what I've seen at least (This is on Defiant)

Now my question is, do you think there's really need for defenders in the PvP zones? Troller can pick defender powers as their secondary. How well does their secondary stack up compared to a defenders primary? Does their heal/end drains etc. do as well or significantly less I wonder (if slotted the same) I haven't actually compared the two but I'm sure some of ya have. You could even throw in a corrupters secondary against the Defender for good measure.

I'm just a bit at a loss if I should retire my defender. I do love to play him but lets be honest is there a whole lot of a difference from a kin def to a kin controller or corrupter? Plus a defenders dmg isn't anything to gloat about compared to a trollers primary or corrupters

Now this is not a whine or flame on defenders. I'm just wondering how well their primary is stacked against others secondary. Anyone care to fill me in?

Sadly kinetic corrupters are easily disposed off by kinetic defenders in sirens (least I haven't met one that put up a decent challenge) as they lack that vital Transference

I do know you have TP foe. You've mentioned this before or I've seen you use it. I keep a mental note of these things

Bah i say! If they get [removed] so easily then they need to stay away How many times as a defender have i suffered from AS before i learned how to mostly avoid it

If my comp could run CoLag I mean CoV I would be there giving heroes hell once in a while. Oh and not all heroes are lvl 50 in sirens *cough* Memnon *Cough*

I stand corrected but like you said trollers do more then just hold. I think it would be an interesting matchup if nothing else. I sure would nuke some popcorn and watch the show

SB cancels anything that slow but would be interesting to see though. I guess it would come down to who holds who first but I think the trollers would win that in the long run

For me personally it would have to be either Domi or corrupter. Why? cause I like to do my PvP in teams and I wish villains would do more team PvP (more diversed group PvP I should say. Not all stalker teams) as I think it would make it a lot more interesting for both sides. Personally i refuse to make a stalker
