  1. indeed lol, grats on Tsu and a full set roll on I7 eh Flick!

I think the problem is the squishyness of them. I have both a corruptor and a dominator and they both get creamed due to being one of the first targets go for (note not all doms/corruptors are that squishy). Because of this it puts alot of people off as its not fun being killed all the time.

Count into the fact that villains have stalkers. Visibly they aren't there so you're even more likely to be taken down fast and most stalkers don't protect their team mates but go out looking for easy pray themselves.
  3. and a grats goes out to you as well starsong!
  4. Well done to Twisted Liberty on reaching lvl 40 ! Thats one Lippy MM

Hope your Conga Rats are dancing for you Lib!
  5. Spoken to you a couple of times and seen ya chat on arena. You seem like a nice enough person, so good luck to you and take care
  6. Well I think Dead Calm and Stasis pretty much hit spot on.

    Are there cliques? Probably

Are they threatening our community? All a matter of opinion from one person to the next.

If you think they are a problem I suggest staying clear of them. In most cases you can't change a clique, what you can do is lead by example. Team with others, pick up strangers and help the community that way by showing others how open and welcoming we are.

If you don't think there's a problem, well then you need not worry and can keep on your merry way.

And if you've been reading this threat I hope you all got inspired if nothing else. To be open minded and make Defiant a more pleasant place to be!

I see nothing wrong in the way you do your grouping Aerie (felt like adding that). I personally ask in SG and look at global friends list when I try and put a team together and usually that gets the ball rolling. Usually also leaves a few opens spots as well and then I look for the random person lft or needing some help. As long as you're respecful and you do your function within my team I'm more then happy to have you along for some fun times.

Ok and now back to being myself....

How dare you come here and stick your nose in our clique Stasis!

for those that don't know me. That was a JOKE!
  7. word of causing though. If you use it in pvp zones remember its easy to push someone into a group of mobs and get them killed. I was hanging with some friends in sirens and they used it a few times on me for fun well ending up next to a couple of Tsoo Ancesters and a Ill/FF warden a few times

Just a fair warning if you play with friends
  8. To Win'ter on reaching lvl 40 ! Well done !
  9. Fire is good or so I've heard...

    Grats to smirk

    First off, Grats Smirky boy!

Secondly, Cynic wouldn't laying on your back letting others do the work be doing the easy part?

but no smirkman does deserve this! well done matey. Now you're going to have to hold a party and make me some popcorn

PS : for those that don't know Smirk. He has mastered the art of faceplanting and taken it to a whole new lvl. Seriously!
  11. Well i just started one myself not long ago. So far he's pretty fun, lacking holds with mine atm but due to trying to make a rather unusual build or so I'd like to think

    Sirens

Well I posted something under suggestion at one point which was mainly PvP based. Never got any replies etc. there so will link it here.

    Suggestion for PvP

Anyways we are going off Topic. I think what confess is trying to get at is a way to create some kind of balance in sirens (maybe other zones as well) where as it's current state its mostly overwhelming odds switching back and forth between heroes and villains (number wise). I could be wrong though and that's not what she meant

and TG I do agree with you on some of you ideas. A bit more incentive to play the PvP part of the game would be a nice added touch.

Still thinking about an idea Flick, let me get back to ya *scratches head*

    Sirens

Not a bad idea in itself but I would hate for a NPC to walk up and steal my glory or save my sorry behind

Would be nice to have something to balance it out a bit when one side is outnumbered since most players dont bother trying. I'll have to think about this for a bit and get back to ya if i can come up with a half decent idea
  14. Lecxe said it all pretty much. Personally I'd stay clear of choking cloud. Just not worth it imo. You'll have enough endurance issues as it is. My corrupter is Ice/rad so i know
  15. Hey Lode...

My advice to you would be to team up with your friends, the ones that enjoy your company and you theirs or even try and make new ones. Go back to basics, remember when you first played the game? there were no "famous" people that you knew about and you enjoyed the game for what it was? Just a fun game!

Forget about the cliques! get back to basics and enjoy the game or take a break and try again, but seems you had your fair shares of breaks already. If peeps are inconsidered and lack manners or stuck up on cliques well they just aint worth the time or effort and that goes even if your one the most well known 'names' in the community

    Just my 2cp

Hope you find the fun you're looking for Lodestar!
  16. Nice pics, see a few familiar faces there. Shame i couldn't be there
  17. well not on your teams side anyways. NPC wise, sure
  18. Knowing your lvl range and maybe Archetype might help a bit.

You're right smaller teams are more manageable but even a team of 8 can be and doesn't always have to end up with a whole lot of casualties

I for one dont find this scenario funny in any way, I am also not entirely sure that laughing at someones misfortune is a particularly healthy attitude to ahve on PVP (or for that matter in anything) Getting debt and indeed receiving it as a result of PVP is inevitable in the zones but I suspect the person was just a little frustrated at unwlecome debt and I can imagine a vast majority of people would respond in the same way, its akin to saying "[censored]" when you catch your finger in a door.

No it wasnt your fault and I am sure she didnt really blame you, shes a person like all others on the game and I feel a little compassion on your part for what is a genuine inconvieniance would ahve been more in order than crowing and laughing at someones misfortune. I can only hope that you didnt broadcast your amusement over chat as this would be a very fast way to lose popularity amongst people on both sides in the pvp zones.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I agree with botty. Might not have been your fault directly but no need to laugh at someones misfortune

    Running for home

Their's no shame in running. I run when outnumbered (or try to ) only to a) either split up the group and maybe catch one straggling after me alone or come back to find one standing by him/her self. b) to maybe give a team mate time to do some dmg if some are following me.

I dont see the need to run to base though just to hide. There are sometimes other ways around being outnumbered. Not always the case but its always worth a try

    [/ QUOTE ]

Funny! I've yet to see you to even try to run away with the corruptor. Kamikaze squishie

    [/ QUOTE ]

yeah I agree, never seen u run yet (may ahve something to do with some grav powers though.....)

    You think?

People dont like to loose,or be made to look stupid.

If you owned this guy you probably hurt his pride thats why he came with the attitude,no one likes to loose its just that most people are mature enough to deal with it.

Although saying that the people that I fight against in the PvP zones are one of the reasons I keep coming back and I have made alot of friends from CoV that I wouldn't have nececeraly met if they were just playing CoH PvE.

I think PvP zones are one of the best things that have happend to this game, but it also brings out the crappyness in some people, you take the rough with the smooth and wait for the 50 PvP zone to come about because 99.9% of the 50's i've met are really cool people and wouldn't do this sort of thing

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agree completely, just like to add. PvP zones are sometimes the best way to find out what kind of person you're playing with. Someone might be calm and nice in PvE but can turn into a brat once things doesn't go their way in a pvp situation. It can be an eye opener
