  1. Just incase you are wondering NGrfx, the MARCH 2010 User agreement also mentions NCcoin....

And that one I KNOW You would have seen if you had read the Agreement.
  2. You can set up another support account. Infact I *HAD* to when i lost access to one of my ISP email accounts (changed providers).

Problem here is , as someone mentioned it's not the same info as the main login, so all i've been able to do thus far is ask for my password to be reset, as nothing else works.

Essentially, I am currently full of rage and will be taking it out on any squirrels that cross my path today.

I'll try something again, later when I've calmed down. As for now...Bah.
For those who *dont* have an NCsoft support account, they are actually NOT linked to your NCsoft master account...

This way, if you were suddenly locked out of your main account, you could still setup a support account and recover it....
  4. Well, if you used the old launcher you answered the same thing....
  5. No the *support* pages have always had a seperate accounts system set up.

This way, even if your main account was compromised you could still get in contact with them.
  6. Basic Gist: Due to limitations of the game, dont feel that you *cannot* take a power because it doesnt fit thematically. Just because it *looks* different to the effect that you want doesnt mean that you cannot take it

Looking at some forum threads... people will be skipping it entirely because it doesnt fit with their theme.

*my thought* If the player skips a complete powerset because it doesnt fit with the theme, then they cannot complain when they cant have the benefit of it. There are enough ways to actually "hand wave" it away... or hell just accept it.

EG my "handwavium" is that the pet is actually the "soul" of a praetorian who got attatched to me in a fashion from when I was over there (one of the random story arcs set from over there).

It works for me, but YMMV
  7. Just to point out one small thing...

From what I can remember of the Lore interface and reading the texts, You would have to customise 3 different pets for *each* Lore Type....

So for those saying "oh its just *one* pet"... it isnt.

And I am pretty damn sure that the same technological problems that affect MM's and their pets, are the same ones that would be affecting this level of customisation (and also why you cannot customise your Phantom Army as mirrors of you).

Would I delay the whole issue for this?

    No.

But I would *love* to see it come at some point (as a wishful dream)
  8. *checks back via his emails*

The oldest email that I have from NCsoft listing my email code is from 2007...

From that point on, pretty much every single code I have used has resulted in a email from NCsoft, from all of my games.

Note: Game Time Codes are not listed, but all of the costume codes/booster packs are listed. This could have been because i deleted them or what I cannot remember... If anything I have been keeping reciepts for *everything* since i moved over to Gmail full time

    Pay attention.

While you're correct it only takes 56 shards to create a Very Rare plus four Notices of the Well, you're *missing the point*.

It takes 3200 Incarnate Shards to make 96 Incarnate Threads to make one Very Rare for a not-the-Alpha-slot Incarnate ability.
Sorry, but the conversion that *I* saw on the test server was 10 shards for 6 (per 20 hours) or 3 (Insta clicky) threads...

So according to the figures *YOU* have given, you are incorrect.

320 shards is the correct figure... for the numbers you have given of 96 threads.

Now if you meant 960 threads, then yes.... 3200 shards is correct (if you go for the insta route)... otherwise the once per day conversion (10 shards for 6 threads) is actually faster and you only need 1600 shards.

Granted, I didnt test out the drop rate of shards for lower level content, but if it is basically from *anything* you kill, i could indeed see farming of lower level mobs to make it a much faster route.

Note: 960 threads is a VERY steep cost by itself...

    *edited 960 shards to threads*

Especially as currently you are only getting threads in 2 raids...

If however you refuse to do all the incarnate content. All the task forces. All the trials. And plot out getting things entirely with shards you got soloing newspaper missions. Then yes, your sense of entitlement in regards to incarnate rewards is too great.

It's exactly how it works now. If you get alpha with entirely components it can go really fast. But let's say you don't feel like doing a CoP or a Reichsman TF (which is a pretty reasonable expectation). You toss a few shards at those components and move on. You can skip some of the things you aren't that fond of.

Now, if you refuse to do any task forces, get any components, participate in any of the WST, then your shards-only route for alpha is 488 shards. I have no sympathy for people saying that's too many. Nor do I have any for people saying 1600 is too many for Judgement et al. There are plenty of options available to you. If you opt to take none of them, and only grind shards, you made your bed with that one.
If you run purely the Lambda you can convert your Incarnate Threads over to the EXP to unlock the "BAF" related Incarnate slots. Need about 40ish Threads to do it (rough top of head calculation). And vice-versa

Well on the plus side, it looks like you would have fully earnt most if the very rare then by the time you get *this* badge..

Hint, you have to achieve one task in one go....

I think the furthest we got was about halfway before we ran out of time (if that)
  12. Or you can just install CoX outside of "program files" to avoid it.

well... +3 for now maximum (depends on the last 5 slots).

But even so, i did notice quite a few red-conning mobs when playing (the larger stuff was purple though) with a level shift slotted.

If future Incarnate abilities are only to be used in raids (as others have said, I havn't seen that myself) then there really isn't a point for a casual like me to have them.

I can see why people are reacting strongly to the announcement and EU Beta test information, but bear in mind.. said beta test is still a closed test. We can't test all of I20 right now, and as others have said, other Overview pages lacked key features to past Issues. The pink elephant in the room would be the lack of mention of the Judgement, Lore, etc etc Incarnate trees. I'd imagine there are other features not being mentioned just yet as well.

That's just my perspective on it, Devs. Still subbing with the hopes of (at the very least) non-Incarnate updates each issue.
The *level shift* that some of the incarnate powers give will only be valid in the Incarnate trials.

The actual power itself is still valid.
  15. Sorry, but Samuel Tow *forced* me to stop visiting the forums for a while.

I can barely go past a thread that deals with upcoming content of the game without reading how badly he has been slighted etc etc...

I could have put him on ignore, but when people start quoting him, I still see what he says.

What should I do then? Just leave the forums forever? Or just stay away from threads that *actually* interest me about the game (ie up coming content, what needs tweaking etc etc)

Make of that what you will
  18. I took my time editing my previous post... should have done it faster...

But from looking at their previous overview stuff... they *have* tended to skip out the "solo" announcements pretty much.

*edit* and for those being picky

    Issue 19 overview0
    What issue 19 delivered

It *doesnt* list the 2 new arcs...

Neither do the overview pages for I17 list the extra content that was added..

I16 overview misses out the Super Sidekicking/exemplering

Hell, the I14 overview mentions NOTHING else apart from AE.... (granted it is called Architect Edition).

Note: Taking the overview stuff as gospel for what *isnt* coming.... make of that what you will.

Incarnate level solo content... not so sure on.

Non incarnate solo stuff... More than likely, yes.

In an issue with no *ANNOUNCED* solo content.

  20. Errrm,

I19 had content that didnt require teams....
  21. The level shifts of two of the trees are *incarnate* shifts so they will *only* take effect in the Incarnate raids.

The rest of the powers will work just like the alpha slot currently does... ie when you are at level 50.

Unless something is planned to directly award Threads somewhere down the line.
You can actually *earn* Threads just by defeating mobs in the BAF and Lambda instances.

However, the mere fact is that if you hold an unpopular opinion here and you dare express it, you become a pariah, and otherwise reasonable people will not think twice to resort to surprisingly low-brow insults, passive-aggressive goading tactics, false dichotomies, opinion-as-fact and a whole slew of other malicious argument, all seemingly with the hope of stamping out dissenting thought.

When my stomach turns just seeing certain people's names, I can no longer say that this is a nice, friendly community in good conscience, because it isn't, not unless you filter out a great many people.

I hold no obligation to be "understanding" of the work of a professional development team, a team that I am a paying customer to. If I like the product, I will say so, and have on many occasions that people conveniently forget. If I don't like the product, I will also say so. That's what the forums are for. City of Heroes differentiates itself from other games through the direct line of communication with have with the development team, however much some posters would like to sever that line. I intend to use this to make my opinion know, for what that counts. My honest, unedited opinion, not a reined in version that omits important points.

    ---

I don't like I20. I like it even less than I thought I would when people were insulting my intelligence and telling me how much of an idiot I was for doomcrying without having seen what's in the Issue. In 20 Issues so far, I have not seen one that has had so little for me, and I count things like PvP which I don't do, base building which I don't care about, Inventions which I'm not interested in, Safeguards which I hate, badges which I'm not interested in and and really any Issue that I can think of to name.

Furthermore, I have never before felt so genuinely depressed for the future of the game than I do right at this moment. I see a feature list which horrifies me to my very core, and I can just see the pride with which it is written, as if saying "Tune in for more of this!" I'm a patient man, I'll see this through... But I've never, ever had to rely on patience before.

This is my opinion of I20. If you don't like it, you are free to not read anything I say ever again, because it doesn't look like I'll be saying anything new. If my dislike of the Issue makes you angry, then that reflects on your own personality more than anything else. Me not liking the Issue shouldn't take away from your ability to enjoy it because - as I was reminded countless times - my $15 is worthless, so no-one should really care if I stay or go or how I feel about the game. I'm one of those repugnant solo players, after all, and as such you won't be teaming with me anyway. There's no reason for you to care.

I'm done arguing for my right to have an opinion, an I don't intend to do so again.
    Taken to heart

Infact I have taken time *away* from the forums due to several people being "all doom and gloom" and really not offering what *alternatives* they would be looking for.

It was more of their case of "My way or the highway" (or at least that is the impression that I was getting from them at least).

It is indeed a two way street.

For me, the past few issues have been full of content that I actually enjoy. I am a casual player who plays maybe 4-6 hours a week, teamed and solo.

I do not alt a great deal (I actually *hate* the idea of Alting as I am a completionist for single characters).

Have there been things that I dont agree on from the developers side.. indeed there has been.

(Side note: the Lambda isntance is indeed a *challenge*)

In all the previous issues, i dont believe that they have actually *announced* all the solo content that was added (ie the extra tips, and indeed the couple of extra arcs that was added in I19)...

    *shrugs*

Take a break from the forums, that is what I would recommend.

*note* I would name names, but I think that this whole post would get moderated.

Could quite concievably be to stop people from converting their shards over to threads to insta unlock Interface/Destiny or Judgement/Lore slots (10 shards to a thread)

You can also use Incarnate Threads to gain XP/unlock the above tree's (2 of which have Incarante level shifts... which are ONLY active in Incarnate Raids).

Remember as well that you will be able to get shards from killing *anything* in the game
  25. I would *heavily* suggest going for 64bit windows 7 (stay away from Ultimate, Pro is enough for everything unless you want 37 extra languages).

Pretty much standard setup nowadays for new PC's is

4GB RAM, 1GB Gfx card... that by itself will force you above the 4GB limit of 32 bit windows.

Even 3GB RAM, 1 GB gfx card can cause 32 bit windows to misallocated (especially if you have a seperate sound card)

2GB RAM, 1GB gfx card though, that will be ok.. but has a good chance of limiting you later on...
