  1. Agreed with the Star Wars: NGE change.

What made it even more galling was that they had only released another expansion a month or 2 before hand, and then all in one go managed to practically gut out a LOT of the classes of the game, either via combining them, or just flat out removal of the class, and making you something that you didnt want to be.

Oh, and just before the release of NGE, SOE had the gall to keep on saying that no major changes were on the way either.
  2. Pretty much *any* semi recent gfx card will get the game to run at medium gfx settings.

You wouldnt even need to spend more than $100 for it.

The most important question is: How much have you got to spend for something like this.

I believe Father_Xmas has a few links in his sig where he goes through various PC costs...

One that *some* people tend to forget to add on is the Operating System... and that can be another $100 or so added on top (shop bought PC's though tend to include at least the basic version of Windows in the cost...

    Seriously?
So you want the EU players to contend with all of the US players as well for when they give away codes?

Although it *might* seem a bit selfish, but i am actually kinda happy for that one.

Could also be due to the fact that Time Codes are region locked as well (unless Aion/Lineage 2 is also undergoing a US/EU list merge), it might just be easier to keep them as is.

It's nice, and works, but it also showcases a bit of the design difference with WoW and CoH.
I think that Blizzard said that around the time of Burning Crusade (or maybe Lich King release) that around 0.5% of the total player based had ever experienced Naxx...

And black pudding is *LOVELY* though (although i guess that knowing what goes into it will turn the normal person off it).

Fried bread though, if done properly, isnt "dripping with fat" and more along the lines of "crispy" (lightly fry so that it goes brown, and then leave to stand on a piece of kitchen paper) whilst you serve up the rest of the meal.

*Side note: So who brings the left handed haggis? I think i have a right handed haggis in a witches hat somewhere around here*

Yeah, this is what happens when the only sport you experienced for many years at home was American Football, due to your mother and her boyfriend being American Football coaches for a local team.

I could use a little help with a simple problem. Did a quick search and couldn't find anything usefull about this.

I had both COX and COX test server set up on my computer when I installed the new launcher. It apparently defaulted to the COX test server so that no matter which icon I click on, the launcher comes up and immediately starts the test server version. This is more of an annoyance than anything as I can simply shut down test and start the regular COX version with the launcher.

I flipped through the settings on the launcher and didn't see any way to change which game is the default for the launcher. I must have overlooked something, probably something obvious, but I can't find it. Anyone know what I need to do to fix this?

    Thanks.
Right click the NCsoft Launcher shortcut, and look at the target section.

    Mine reads "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft\Launcher\NCLauncher.exe"

That is the *default* setting for the launcher, and it should just launch the Launcher and *nothing* else.
  9. Upgrading your graphics card (and possibly) powersupply would be the 1st one I would be looking at.

How much have you got available to spend?

Not so sure on that to be honest. Even if you go by the percentage of users online and the number of people who have posted in this thread (in TOTAL)

70 ish posts with 1291 members and 3556 guests online.

That is playing devils advocate, but even if you just consider the members online... its still around 5% of the player base apparently agree (Taking the each post as in agreement).

Yes, its just numbers, but as soon as people say "it annoyed a decent number".. how many do you mean?

Now, if they are global unlocks, it wouldnt be so bad would it?

I'm tired of having to wait for it to load far enough form me to click it to get it's tookus back to the basic launcher so I can launch the regular one.... and no... I tried clicking the other real fast... it ran both and wouldn't load either till I forced both off by shutting them down the hard way.

Anyway, can I disable the instant leap to "Oh yes... I want to play Beta" default that seems to be active right now?

    Thanks
Right click on the launcher shortcut, and post what it says in the "Target" box.

    For me, mine is

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft\Launcher\NCLauncher.exe"

That is it, and that kicks up the launcher as standard.

Now, if you set it up (or edited) the shortcut for the *beta* server install, then it will auto launch the beta server each time you click the short cut.

I suspect Union will be the same. The Lure of more populated servers will be strong.
I believe that with the exception of the top 2/3 servers of the US... the EU servers (well at least Union) comes in pretty similar to most of the US servers (especially at the difference of the EU and US peak times).

*shrugs* To be honest, there was *nothing* stopping an EU player from creating a US trial account to test the water and then going that way.

Hell, one thing that I would have them resolve would have been the inclusion of EU players into closed beta events (doesnt happen unless they have a US account), and that during the sneak peak events for I20, we had access to our own test server outside of the testing window.

Right now, I do believe that in the past 3 weeks the test server has been accesible for about 72 hours...

Hopefully what this server list merge/account merge might allow us is access to their beta server, so the test server is accesible outside of beta test times.

(Great) Britain: Composed of the countries of England, Scotland and Wales.

United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

England, Scotland and Wales also all have their own Parliaments.

    From your quote above...

"England expects that every man will do his duty."

This was from a period of time when Wales was part of England, and had no separate identity... and Scotland had joined England to form the United Kingdom.

Nelson was also English and with it being the 18th century, and most of his fleet being English it does make sense to call upon the "National Pride" of the majority of your troops.

There were (and still are) specific military units that only come from Scotland or Wales, and they *do* wear their nations heart on their shoulder (The Black Watch from Scotland with the motto of "No One Provokes Me With Impunity" being one example).

*Shrugs* I guess its the same as a UK guy using US as the short hand for North America... kinda right, but still wrong (North America covering USA, Canada, Cuba, Belize, El Salvador etc etc)

*edit* To save a lot of hassle, its generally better to ask "Where in the UK are you from?"... although you then miss out Ireland with that phrase....

Could well be step 1 of "cross server teaming" being completed.

When I popped Positron the question during the 1st sneak peek, we were told that they were not in a position to comment on it.

I can see that *part* of the problem would be that with the server lists being seperate, we would only be able to call upon Union,Defiant,Zukunft and Vigilence server.

Are there still going to be 'servers' or just 1 big server per se?

I swear, the leaks that happen need to be in a specific board/spot so I can check one spot and 'be in the know' :P
All the servers will be on one list.

  21. Do you run Microsoft Security Essentials?

If so and the lag happens when you use a nice large AoE power, put the COX folder into the exclusions for MSE.

All in all just a free bit of advertising. Do have one question? why do we see advertising on TV for lots of other MMOs but I have yet to see any for COH? We have several SuperHero themed movies coming out this year and for now 1 TV show but no ads?
If it wasnt asked about, then generally you wont talk about it.

Sidestepping some of the "more difficult" questions, is because either way there is no "correct" answer, and probably because Paragon Studio's/NCsoft havent made their mind up on it, so for War Witch to comment on it (especially if it was something major) for them, and then having to retract later on (for ANY reason) will just bring up the question from the players of "If you weren't sure about it, why did you say that you were going to do it?" or "If it hadnt been finalised, why were you so concrete about it"... either way is once again suicide for the developers on the board.

I know that we would *love* to be inside the heads of the developers, knowing what they are thinking about bringing out etc etc, but if it hasnt been finalised, then why mention it... especially if there is a chance of it being cancelled.

Not commenting about CoX2 though... Sensible choice really. If anything, it would just open the floodgates even more from us asking what would happen to our existing characters/SG's/Enhancements/Bases/Influence etc etc. Lots of issues there when the developers can slip up/upset the player base EVEN IF it is to make the sequel better overall.

At least she said that they were paying attention to what was happening with P2P games going F2P, and that they still had the existing customers in their minds.

I USED to get emails fine then it stopped. So I'm guessing that at some point last year NC changed the way they sent out emails. Players who don't have the codes may well have had the same issue I did.

My email provider put NC's IPs on a 'clear list' so the emails come through now but because NC won't resend, I have no way of reobtaining that information. My email provider said they wouldn't have kept the mail, just bounced it. And NC would have known their mails were being bounced.

Best of luck to everyone still trying to dig themselves out of this mess.
Not to mention as well that *some* email companies would have put NCsoft's emails under "junk". I have noticed that before (hotmail/msn at *one* point in time). And as most people seem to just empty/ignore the junk folder, they wouldnt have known that they had actually recieved it.
