  1. If you want a mind/* dom to be your arch nemesis I would suggest you plan your build to specifically avoid any mez protection. As it stands you will two shot them without taking any significant damage in return. A more realistic nemesis would be a stalker with a similar build or a corrupter - especially a rad. If it must be a dom /psi at least has -regen so that would be a better option but still poor

    Team Squishy

Well I remember doing Infernal on a team of 3 trollers, 3 blaster and 1 defender. Needless to say neither all out against the portal or pulling infernal were really any good as options so we ended up having infernals mob take him down confused then could deal with the portal in safety.

Then there was a team of 5 nova form khelds and 1 scrapper - I feel sorry for the scrapper - nothing lasted long enough for him to reach far less attack.
  3. Hmm I seem to recall it being stated nova had an inherrent acc bonus - the figure I had seen was about 40% which is definitely on the high side but I guess this may have been accounting for to-hit SOs in the form and pre ED 6 slotted that may have been possible.
In any event with the stacking of -def it should still be possible to remove the Accs from powers further down the attack chain so which ones would depend on the chain used and of course for anything you must hit on the first attack - voids, quantums, shadow mobs you will be using BU anyway.
  4. well with two to-hits in the form and no accs I still hit in excess of 90% against +2/3, drops off significantly to about 75% against +4s.
Its good enough that my preferred form for taking out voids solo is nova.
Dwarf otoh does need them - with 1 in most attacks I need to stack debuff before they are reliably hitting.
  5. I did find a nice spawn point on one of the beaches in the north of Nerva where it was possible to keep 6 emanator mobs aggroed with my corrupter. There were 8 mobs in the area but I couldn't keep the last two aggroed reliably - as has been said don't kill the lts spawning the eminators - the others kill if you wish/need. With that many mobs the badge comes quickly enough and I was having at least 1 eminator up at all times. A team all managing something similar would find it extremely fast.
  6. I'd also say unless you're planning on PvPing or going up against +5 mobs you can safely drop the acc from your nova form attacks, they all have an accuracy bonus and you're to-hits in the form will add further to this.
I'd say keep the end mod in the forms rather than end reds in the powers, I find that in nova form I can keep up continual attacks against any mobs - its only when up against end drainers or GMs/AVs that the fight lasts long enough to drop my end - even then if I stick to the single target attacks my end will increase.
I would say my human form was weak until mid 30s but tend to play nova primarily unless the team needs me to tank - (or if the tank gets more aggro than he can handle). The ability to hit dwarf and taunt when the tank drops or preferably before can certainly help prevent a team wipe.
  7. Never found any real problems soloing my Kin/El on invincible except for Malta Gunslingers the main thing to remember is you need to be in melee range for transference and transfusion to buff you so a good control secondary helps. Personally I find short circuit very helpful for this as mobs without end can't hurt you.
I also have a sonic/Kin corrupter and that is a lot of fun - solo or on a team so may be worth looking at as a def if its possible - you do need to keep some range most of the time with it though.

Dark and Rad will also solo safely although possibly a bit slower than a kin.
A team build empath however is probably not the best although solo builds have certainly been done.
  8. Certainly not recent - its been around since I7 went live but been a lot more common since I8 - happens with any alternate form after typically about 10 minutes in that form - nova, dwarf even granite suffer from it. Various other graphics bugs around afflicting Khelds as well. They don't affect your powers but may confuse your teammates when they think you're in human form but aren't. Most that team with Khelds regularly are used to it happening by now though.
You should /bug anything you come across - although if you bugged this every time it happened you wouldn't have time to play. In practice something like this won't always be bugged when it happens but I have done so on a couple of occasions and others have as well. Maybe if a lot of players keep reporting it its priority will rise
  9. With 2 tohits in Nova and no accs in the nova attacks I rarely have any trouble hitting +2 to +4 except +3/4 voids, the defence debuff probably helps after the early attacks as well - I know it does in dwarf where I can often need a few hits before I start hitting reliably with powers with only one acc.

1 Brute 1 Dom 6 Kins, stacked domination anyone?

Where - Where - Plz Plz PLZ

Seriously had 4 kins on Croatoa TF once Mary couldn't get her damage above about 60 and the only reason for firing off the heals was the -regen as our regen was higher than her damage.
Was asking whether you were looking to do this hero or villain side but just realized which forum its in -
Pity my Sonic/Kin Corr is on Defiant
  11. Personally I never took one on my kin def and don't plan to on my corrupter. Took hover at lvl 49 for hami raids though.
IR makes a very good travel power as long as you watch where you land and Siphon Speed is good as long as you don't miss on a +5 mob. I would even run across the Gulch to SB team members in the hollows when we didn't have someone with Recall Friend available although some of the mishes in IP meant getting past +6/7 mobs and I didn't really want to risk them.
I did take invis and that makes IR much safer although firing it off whilst invis will not buff others
    - you still need to keep an eye on when it is about to run out though.
  12. I presume this is at lvl 50 but against what levels of mobs and how are your powers slotted. Remember nova form has a huge acc bonus so you can easily run those powers slotted for recharge or debuff instead of accuracy and this may give a greater bonus to nova against +3/4 mobs or against bosses/EB/AV. Of course it is possible to run tactics in human form as well which may partially offset this.

    Snaptooth Solo?

Managed to solo him on my tri form PB on rugged at lvl 39 but can't say I want to try it again - took far too long. Unfortunately my light form isn't slotted well enough to be much use so it was Dwarf Form all the way but 2 sets of 2 normal purples allowed me to get him to half health and his resistance is floored by then so I could get decent damage through - did have to run several times to recover end though.
The biggest problem was his positioningbeing just past that archway so you cant target him until you're in mellee with him and can't pull the rest of the mob away from him. The +3 void Lt next to him didn't help either.
  14. And of course with Mind you have -regen as well although you can't perma it without outside buffs. Also a confused LB Warden could prove useful.

    Oh dear, that's me speedreading
But bear with me, who'd expect an emp troller only to heal and dont use attacking powers? Must have been a def in disguise

    [/ QUOTE ]

Of course might be firing off Confuse as well which also doesn't aggro (and neither do attacks on confused foes - at least until the confuse wears off)
  16. There are a couple of reasons for a second tank but none essential - if there are problems of randon D/Cs the last thing we want is to find that the hami tank has disconnected but I've only seen that happen once and somehow I got out of the bubble on that occasion. The other one is if he gets GM aggro which will quickly overwhelm the empaths, again I've only seen this once.
In either case I would suggest a backup taunt team a bit further round the bubble would be better than a second tank in the same taunt team but is normally unnecessary.
The main use tbh will be to sit on cowards hill cracking jokes to keep the holding team entertained.
  17. Any that someone already has can be traded but no new bits can be obtained until the event is run again - next Hallowe'en maybe.
As for using it speak to the contact in Croatoa or Nerva as appropriate - they should be back from their holiday now.

    Trials

Sewer is 36+ to join 38+ to start, Eden is 39+ iirc

    Trials

I'd be up for either with Quick Blue lvl 50 Kin/El Offender if the time is right.
  20. If you intend going for a powerset requiring a to-hit check I'd certainly recommend a minimum of 2 accuracies in your powers that you need to hit - heals, buffs, debuffs probably 3 for dark. Tactics would also be useful especially if you can get multiple team members with it.
I find on my DD Corrupter TG is starting to drop in reliability at about +5 and unreliable at +7 (2 Acc TG +3 To-Hits in Tactics), petrifying gaze and flufy's attacks are also still reasonable.
With my Kin Defender Transfusion is still reliable at +7 with 2 accs and up to +10 /+11 with aim and buildup running. but the rest of my buffs/debuffs and attacks tail off severely beyond +5.
Personally I'd suggest a /Emp or /Kin 'troller or dark defender with 3 Accs and Tactics ( and well slotted Howling twighlight and wakies to get up after you have rezzed the rest of the team and faceplanted from the aggro)
I suspect if you are all running at -5 to the mobs you are going to find it very slow leveling (yes its possible to all be -5 - consider posi TF on invincible with a lvl 10 team if you are trully suicidal)
Good luck on the Debt badges though

The resistance buff from ID doesn't stack with itself, only the status protection.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Have you checked this - the last time I read the description it specifically stated the only thing that didn't stack was the slow effect - of course it wouldn't be the first time the description was wrong.
  22. Yep
can remember the reactions the first time I did that when one of the other team members noticed that I had stacked 12-14 of them on the tank. It does make a big difference at low levels because of how easy it is to stack and can certainly raise the mediocre resistances at those levels considerably.
There's basically 2 ways to apply it - single applications for the hold/kb res or high stacking to 1 or maybe 2 toons for the dam res - both have their uses depending on circumstances.
Similarly there's 2 different reasons to apply SB - in a mish to increase end recovery and recharge rate and outside for the movement speed increase - especially useful before lvl 14 to get the team across the Gulch.
I'd probably say that pre DOs ID is the more useful but much less so at later levels whem resistances are much higher. Also if you regularly team with a stome tank SB is pretty much a must as it counteracts the movement penalty of rooted and granite.
Whichever way you choose to go expect a lot of clicking. At least with ID when you're stacking it on the tank you can fire it off in the middle of a attack chain and it should hit the tank - if it hits someone else the tank isn't holding aggro well enough and you can expect to get a lot of it yourself - kins are huge aggro magnets - troller probably less so as many of the foes are likely to be locked down.
  23. Well having a 48 Kin defender I can assure you that you will be being begged for SB from 1/3 to 1/2 the group every mob - usually from the toons that have just run off as you get to them whilst working through the team. In all those levels I have been asked for ID once - it is useful against earth thorns though which you will find plenty of doing Hollows mishes. Also don't be surprised to find one or two team members who don't want SB as they can't adjust to the extra move.
  24. Should be able to manage it with Quick Blue - currently lvl 48 Kin/Elec Def probably lvl 50 by the raid.
Unfortunately just the one hold but both Vanguard and Geas and 10 successful Deviant raids under my belt.
  25. Well you can get HOalikes from Sewer and Eden trials as well
