Just make sure there are no patrols on the map and that you are in melee with the sapper, the stun wand does negligible damage and he will only use it and his sap
-
OK my viewpoint on this
[ QUOTE ]
- Being Tp'd out of base entrance and killed, while clearly AFK?
[/ QUOTE ]
Absolutely no problem with this - why are you AFK in a pvp zone in the first place.
[ QUOTE ]
- Being killed, then hunted down repeatedly by the same person when you're a first timer in the zone?
[/ QUOTE ]
OK the contraversial one.
First of all being a first timer in the zone is irrelevant here - any rules need to apply to everyone.
But back to the main part of it there is a wide range as to whether this is abuse or not. Taking the two extremes
1 You are the ONLY target in the zone. - No issue with this whatsoever
2 You are just one of many equally attractive targets and are being targetted to the total exclusion of every other potential target for no reason other than to demean you as a player - this is harassment plain and simple.
In practice the normal situation is somewhere in the middle and many get repeatedly targetted but for legitimite reasons, not that this makes it feel any better when you are on the receiving end[ QUOTE ]
- After being droned once?
[/ QUOTE ]
No problem here
[ QUOTE ]
- After being droned repeatedly?
[/ QUOTE ]
After the first time why are you still close enough to be TP'd to them.
[ QUOTE ]
- When someone is clearly using a 3rd party macro program?
[/ QUOTE ]
Against the EULA - petition them. This will earn them a ban
[ QUOTE ]
- When one side uses a spy on the other side to hunt down someone?
[/ QUOTE ]
Can't really see a problem with this.
[ QUOTE ]
- When one side confuses that spy to take down the other sides second account buffer that's hidden in the base?
[/ QUOTE ]
Sounds like one exploit being used to deal with a second exploit.
I still say if you want to be able to affect what happens in a pvp zone or receive any benifits from being in it you should be in the zone proper and not skulking in the base like a coward. Have it that inside the base is a safe zone and no effects can cross the field surrounding it including buffs and the ability to be target. This would also remove the need for drones as a side effect. -
They fixed exactly this with voids and Quants to have them do Quantum damage in melee - of course they got severely nerfed a year later to the point they are no longer seen as a threat, maybe we'll see that happening again - I doubt it though.
As for how to beat them - mezzes work both ways -
Its best if you install US and EU to different locations as they update at different times but its only the updater that differs (well a parameter setting anyway) - the game files are the same (at least when both are on the same version) so save yourself some time and copy them across rather than downloading them twice.
-
I can't really see the argument of Cysts/Voids/Qs in pvp as you shouldn't come up against them - not that they're much of a threat any longer in pve since they got heavily nerfed.
I've only actually taken my PB into a pvp zone once or twice (well other than when doing some of the mishes). My first visit was on a full team vith several teams from both sides in Sirens. Found nova form whilst good damage wise is a big target for stalkers if you don't stick together, Dwarf on the other hand can take a huge anount of aggro much as a tank can but really isn't going to take anything down solo and I'm not slotted in any way to have human as a viable option.
In the end I was in there for about 6 hours and picked up my 100 rep and Kills badges - not bad for his first venture into a pvp zone on a pve based I4 build.
My WS I've tried out as 1 v 1 in the arena - I wouldn't recommend it. -
In general it seems reasonable but would probably have the Cyanide tipped rounds just do +Poison DoT rather than adding poison damage to all attacks.
Also I can't see why armour piercing rounds should do knockback after all they are bypassing the resistant parts and expending their energy more slowly in the fleshy parts.
Oh and if my Pistol/traps blastermind is anything to go by damage will be good but the end use could be crippling although at least with a corrupter/blaster the hit points would be a lot better. -
Well my Grav/Sonic loves it - huge dps increase there - he relies on debuffing enemy resist rather than buffing damage so the unbuffable aspect is bypassed.
My Mind 'troller would probably see a decent increase vs resistant foes but a drop vs unresisting ones.
I'm not totally convinced it would have much if any effect on fire/kins - do they actually see much benifit from containment - I was under the impression much of their damage comes from the rabid heavily buffed imps and I don't believe containment applies there although I may be wrong on that and the mobs don't tend to last long enough to be hit by much more than the opening attacks. -

Being able to sneeze and have knockback effect on civilians or blow a car across the street.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think its more likely that the civilians will be the ones able to blow you over. Just don't get into a shoving match with one - they'll win -
or even better - PI just ask the staff on board the ferry when you leave Talos. Not that many snipers about in IP to need to worry about.
Personally I prefer the warning message saying Missed appearing above my head - not reliable enough though. -

Before I posted this, I was looking for ways in which to acquire the other three pre-order discs, before I realised you couldn't 'stack' them.
[/ QUOTE ]I'm pretty sure the other three couldn't be used for an EU account anyways.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you had them on a US toon and transferred that over whilst it was possible the costume pieces should have transferred as well and would have presumably have stacked with the EU one (assuming you already had it)- although I did find my sprints didn't transfer properly at that time - they appeared on some existing characters and disappeared from one of those that was transferred - irrelevant now as the vet awards gave most of them anyway afterwards. -
Well the OP hasn't said anything about the foes he is having trouble with so i'd suggest
1 Acc to be good against even level foes
2 up to +4
above that will need more
Its just a guideline but I find it tends to work well against most foes for PvE
If you have other ways of increasing accuracy as VEATs do then you can reduce this slotting
Also bear in mind that some foes can stack huge amounts of -to hit (CoT in particular), others have high defence - possibly only against specific types of damage. Sometimes this is all the time, others only when certain criteria are met - Paragon Protectors - mez them before they use their MoG and they fall over fast, wait too long and you want to find another target until it wears off or expect almost everything to miss, having said that multiple sets of tactics running can make a nonsence of a certain AV's elude especially when Focussed Accuracy and Aim are used also. -
I have to agree with the others that have posted - If you like playing a character then play it, don't worry about others having preconceptions.
I know that many farmers use Fire/Kin controllers but that does not mean that every Fire/Kin is a farm toon. The same applies to Fire/Psi doms, Fire/Dark Brutes. Basically farmers like them because they are high dps and aoe heavy which can be a lot of fun to play in a normal team.
The best option you have if you aren't interested in farming is to add a comment to your search text to that effect - it certainly reduced the numbers of farm tells I receive on my kin. -
I'll go with as an EB definitely, as an even /+1 AV probably, +2/+3 AV possibly, +4 and up - good luck - assuming you mean to survive the experience of course.
Of course with an optimal build this becomes much easier.
This was of course referring to Recluse - bah forgot I'd moved back to a previous page -
OMG page 3 on this topic and GG hasn't posted yet.
Actually the idea of head capes would allow for things like a Foreign Legionaire's cap and feathered hats as well as the aforementioned hairstyles. -
Tend to put my ST Hold on auto on my defs and corrupters (occasionally other powers) when fighting AVs. Have noticed that often the autoed power doesn't get to fire as it seems to get demoted in the power queue whenever you fire another power normally, especially if there is a lot of lag.
However I have noticed the behaviour the OP is finding as well but less frequently usually notice after reentering a mish when I see the green ring has vanished but on occasion if I manually fire the power it detoggles the auto setting.
TBH this is nothing new I first noticed it happening about 2 years ago but was thinking I had just forgotten to set it.
I have found it to occur during a fight as well - wonder if it might be happening following a Mapserver D/C that is recovered or a lag spike. -

I remember in old days there used to be Server Status shown on EU Website, wasn't it?
[/ QUOTE ]
It was but guess what? It always said servers were up even when they were all down for maintenance, which I suspect is why it was removed. -

i got a great idea for some missions you could do in this zone a ambassador escort like you work with longbow NPCs to escort a ambassodor who is being targeted by the villians in the zone (get a random villain group attacking you). and you have to escort him to a certian part of the zone and you get a bonus if the ambassador is unharmed when he arrives to the safe zone
[/ QUOTE ]
Would possibly fit a more standard city zone better - escort him to a conference, watch cut scene, escort him out.
Or along a similar line a report comes in of a sniper picking off civilians. (Sniper spawns in a random building) Your job (Hero - capture sniper and escort to the Zig, Villain - find sniper and throw him out of his window) - Reward reduced for every civilian killed.
or combine them - if the sniper gets the diplomat mission failed, if he gets too many civilians - no reward. -
[ QUOTE ]
the solution is turn on dwarf, which is the tanking bit of PB/WS.
[/ QUOTE ]
Mine is to open with one of the KB attacks - if they're lying on their back they can't mez or with a WS TP them to you and beat them to it with your hold.
Of course in a team if your taking the alpha on a nova form pb you're doing it wrong (a WS with eclipse running fair enough) - after that pick your targets and let those with mez protection take the mezzes. -
Its appears to be a bug in NVidias drivers - or rather the installer not clearing old drivers up properly. Its well reported on various games forums and certainly not limited to CoX.
-
We just completed this and Rom went down very fast 4 times running after being stunned and taken down by the ambush mob from behind the first time it was easy enough to back off far enough to avoid the stun.
We didn't even bother with the nictus really just took him down fast - Kin + Rad + Poison ftw - It definitely helps when he has no recharge, no regen, no end and very little damage and we have capped damage and lots of recharge -

All that we are missing is a nice GM and some zone events.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was going to do that, but then I remembered that none of the existing newbie zones have events/GMs so I didn't - I figure the Devs don't want new players getting mown down while they're still new at the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's not quite true - the Kraken is in Perez Park.
[/ QUOTE ]
Paladins in KR would be nearer to newbie zone level - the mobs in Perez will likely get the newbies before they stumble across the Kraken. -
Just click the - beside them and collase them
-
I can see where Shannon is coming from on this
Suppose I have 1 character on Union and 12 already on Defiant without any veteran or paid extra slot would that say I had free slots available or not - there are no previously paid for slots but there are available slots. -

They do with the KTU anti-terrorism agency though and I'm far from convinced that Malta are on the anti- side
