  1. Portals can be taken down reasonably safely as long as you remember to run and then take out the spawns that should have followed you before returning to attack the portal again. Just don't stay in the same area as it and have it spawn 20 mobs - same technique works with the Vampyr Generators in the Striga mish for that matter. but they only spawn individual foes.
    Basically
    1 attack portal ignoring the spawns until they get as big as you can handle
    2 RUN!!! but not too far - you want to get out of the portals aggro range but not lose the spawns you have pulled.
    3 Clear the spawns that have followed
    4 Pull any remaining spawns
    5 Repeat from 1 until portal destroyed.

    They are skippable and the demons will give no XP although the portal gives a good amount so if you're low damage feel free to ignore all or some of the 6 (usually) of them.
  2. I was sure the time cards worked for either version EU or US since about 2 years ago - I'm sure I saw a post to that effect some time ago but I'm sure GR will confirm this one way or the other.
  3. Those are mobs of 3 which is correct for solo heroic. Theres just a lot of groups close together. This is the point you learn to pull so you don't get overwhelmed.

    You really should see it on a team of 8 on the second top difficulty to get bigger spawns even more so if you've a kheld on the team and so get quants in there adding to the numbers.
  4. and also Crey, Longbow, Arachnos, KoA all of whom use some nasty stuns at high level.
  5. Given that this seems to be hitting three ISPs particularly badly and most others hardly at all it would seem that it is network lag caused by the ISPs or their network suppliers rather than it being the servers.
    The lag that most people suffer on ITFs is due to the huge number of mobs visible at once and is specific to that one mission - its possible to reduce it considerably by pulling some back so there are less that the servers need to check.

    I think the nearest to this would be via a Paypal account which is set up to take the money from your account via direct debit - there are dangers in that way of setting up paypal however.

    I'd agree that is very annoying when you crash in a timed mish - especially when your on the last mob and solo. I'd actually prefer it that the mish didn't reset until you have been offline over 5 minutes.

    Hovever if they have to take the servers down for any reason then it would make sense to reset the timer.

    A 53 SO gives about the same level of enhancement as a lvl 35 IO - a lvl 50 gives about 10% extra

    There is - at least for heroes - I don't think its available for villains. It also has a very small number of shells available - however it is intended for blasting undead.
    I'm not sure which mish grants it but iirc there is a section on ParagonWiki listing the temp powers and how to obtain them.

    as others have pointed out this is your opinion and if the set had been called Unarmed Stone Melee it would be valid but its wasn't and whether you like it or not melee combat does not preclude the use of weapons but rather it indicates the state and position of the combat - this being that it is a generally frenetic or even chaotic battle usually made up of many one on one fights in the same area and is generally seen as being undertaken at close quarters using whatever weapons happen to be available - whether thats bare hands, bottles, broken chairs or the sword strapped to your waist. It generally doesn't involve missile weapons although it may involve thrown, however under the strict definition of melee it doesn't rule these out either.
    one example of its definition from Chamber's dictionarry - "a confused fight between two groups of people"
    another from Fowler's dictionary - "Mixed fight, skirmish; lively debate"

    If you don't want to use the weapons available in the powersets then don't - if it suits your characters concept then choose some other power from your secondary or a power pool - or if there is nothing that fits take one and don't use it - just pretend its not there - I mean how many people take boxing but never use it just so they can get access to tough and weave - in your case take it and use it.

    Corrupters should have little difficulty in soloing on pretty much any build - an example - I came out of the Zig on my Ice/Rad and attacked the first mob I came across to check how it performed - this being the point I realize oops these are lvl 6s not lvl 2/3 as I was expecting followed very quickly by ah its ok the Lt is down followed by the rest of the mob. After repeating this on the next mob I decided it was time to raise my rep.
    My Dark/Dark has no problem with most mobs at lvl 50 running solo on invincible indeed the only things I have a problem with are mobs with multiple mezzers especially Malta with the Gunslingers and Arachnoid bosses

    never really got into the way of my stalker which is why he's still lvl 11 even though I started him in the pre release but they have had a substantial buff to their chances of criticalling out of hide and so can scrap reasonably well.

    Well you said the best reason for trying them - something very different - there are plenty of bind guides posted and in most cases your numpad will be sufficient keys for all that you will need.

    Well I have a selection of these ranging from high control mind/psi (it will get to be an extreme damage build in a few levels though once I get PSW) to an all out aoe damage build fire/thorns with relatively little hard control.
    What to I do with them - I DOMINATE of course
    They do require more thought on how to play than most other ATs though.

    My only experience of playing one is my Fire/Fire which isn't built particularly well - tough is about 15-20 levels too late in the build! - very squishy for a brute, which makes it difficult to maintain fury - I'd suggest a different choice of powersets for a first villain but he was a lot of fun in the low and middle levels and can still be at times at higher levels.

    I'd suggest a brute or corrupter initially but would recommend trying each AT out - play it a bit, when the novelty wears off play something else for a bit then go back to the earlier characters - they will usually be fun again. Also if you have experience of playing the different ATs you will know better what to expect them to do and understand when you need to adapt your playstyle.
    You should find that no matter the AT you pick it should be able to solo easily enough but teaming is much better especially when the team gels well.

    Several people have claimed it is difficult to get a team especially in th mid levels but if you get into an active Villain Group - I recommend Dirty Handprints on Union for this - we are now at no 1 in the rankings - I'm sure you will find others will give you their recommendations as well - you should find it no problem.

    It seems in the game the terms god and incarnate are pretty much synonyms or is it just some incarnates have chosen to call themselves a god and have collected sufficient worshippers for it to become true - doesn't stop them being beaten to a pulp though. - I can think of at least 6 different incarnates we get to beat into submission including one who is known as a god.

    Never noticed anything about this buff on the I13 announcements but it should make a difference to my PB, probably not so much for my WS - a damage cap boost on the other hand would be very nice.
  19. They were definitely dropping lvl 50 common IO recipies yesterday in Cap rather than the lvl 30 ones they have in the past. I also got one set one at lvl 49.
    As I had just cleared my recipies before the invasion hit they could only have come from it.

    strange then that you replace several melee attacks and leave the only non melee attack in Fire - i.e. Fire Breath still in your set.

    Swords - whether made of Fire, Ice Stone, Grass Steel or anything else are still melee weapons as are axes, clubs, maces, shovels, hammers, knives etc - if you want an unarmed combat set then I'd suggest a MA or Claws scrapper or stalker. Or you could go to town on the power pools and pick up Boxing, Kick and Air Supremacy and don't forget to slot Brawl.

    So rather than making a melee attack you want to create effectively a very short duration pseudo pet thats now blocking your attacks.
    Also in what way will other enemy mobs adjust to your target - are you suggesting your target now taunts them all?, confuse them?, have them flee from it?

    ridiculously overpowered - a much reduced version could replace the already existing build up power - can't remember its name off the top of my head. As you have it you could fire off long recharge powers limited only by their activation times and be able to heal anything that comes in - even if you have just done so.

    You don't - the fist powersets are MA and claws - if you want to box your using the wrong powersets.

    Well CustomPC has some reviews in for the 260s and the recomendation there was to have at least 40A available on the rail supplying the GPU although that was for one of the OCed ones.
    The other important thing to bear in mind with PSUs is don't buy a cheap one - they generally have poor stability under any sort of load and so a 500W quality PSU will usually outperform an 800W budget one.
