  1. My Dom will still hit her a good percentage of the time when she has Mogged but I have a lot of +Acc on her but if I was to try her solo - I'd probably go with the leggit until it drops option.
  2. Sounds about right - The table listing defeats required is probably more useful as the reward increases with level as well.

Another thing that only the yanks get, just like actual contact from the Devs, closed Beta invites, etc...
(Yeah, we're getting closed betas now, but for the first time ever since launch woop de doo )

    [/ QUOTE ]

We've had closed beta invites since at least I6 - they just gave access to the US servers for the beta period so you could access the US test server.
  4. Well except for the final phrase in it.

The combat stats show the damage bonus you receieve rather than the total damage

in other words if you see +300% damage you are at 100% (base)+300%=400% total which is damage cap for many ATs

The base damage is the value you will receive without any buffs applied or enhancements slotted and no set bonuses.
All modifiers are to that value.
Note with containment and domination the additional damage is effectively a second attack with seperate damage and so damage cap is applied seperately for each with them. I suspect Scourge will operate in the same manner. Defiance I couldn't say.

What would you guys say the very best solo farmer toon would be, on the blue side. Without any sets to start off with. By best I mean able to generate as much inf as possible in the shortest space of time avoiding death where possible.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A reformed Plant/Shovel Brute springs to mind pity you can't create one.
In practice the most effective will be whatever you know the powersets of intimately so you understand its strengths and weaknesses against the mobs you are fighting. To achieve that you need to play it regularly.
What you need to look for are as high a DPS as possible - AoEs are excellent here but less so when solo combined with some way of mitigating the aggro you receive from it

    About stamina

I suspect if you are running tough and weave or other power pool toggles you will need it but can probably wait until long after lvl 20 to pick it up. On my WP/Ice I started to notice my end suffering about lvl 30 without fitness pool but it was still workable at that stage - I had no problem managing it until I could take the two prereqs and stamina.
I could probably have carried on without it until lvl 50 but I suspect I'd have needed to take the occasional break between mobs.
  8. I'm also curious about the rationale of taking Quasar but only puting a single slot in it.

    Hero class HP?

They're Lts/Bosses depending on the difficulty level despite pretending to be heroes

    Search Options

I'd prefer it if the invite automatically added the senders combat level. It still won't cure the problem of blinds but at least we'd have some sort of a clue as to what we might expect if we were to joint the team but yes the option to show only team leaders and team sizes gets a big /signed as well

  12. Yes that chance will be 100% (assuming the foe isn't confused - that may only work Redside Bridger could not reproduce it on a 'troller but my mind dom can still attack confused mobs with nearby mobs not aggroing - and is hit with a damaging attack), how much aggro you will get from the other mobs in the group with it will vary. If you would be in their perception range when out of stealth but not when stealthed they will aggro when they spot you or spot another (probably your target) either returning fire or dying which is why long range attacks like snipes work for pulling a few or even single mobs. Remember also the higher the mob's rank the more likely it is to aggro other mobs nearby when it takes damage.
  13. On a team build thats a huge mistake - the res debuff results in a very significant effective damage buff to everyone
  14. That would coincide with daily maintenance for the US West coast servers - may be related to the auction house.
Could also be down to ISPs getting hit be half the UK logging on to check their email after getting home from work/school.
I wouldn't expect either of those to affect only Union and leave Defiant unaffected though. It is possible there may be a task scheduled to run at that time on the one server. Or maybe Brighton staff are looking up job vacancies after finishing their shift

once you start the snipe animation you will have no stealth bonus.

[/ QUOTE ]Are you sure? I swear I've seen Stalkers stay Hidden while charging their horribly long 8 second snipes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm - I'd need to check to be sure at what point it suppresses - start of animation, end of interrupt period or when it fires. I'm sure I can recall mobs aggroing during the animation in the past on my corrupter - could be power lag though.
Also I know on a stalker if AS misses hide does not suppress any more - that may be applying to other attacks also. I can't check that as far as snipes are concerned as mine is far too low a level and has the wrong sets in any event but if that was to be the case it would need to suppress when the to-hit check is made which I've always believed to be when it fires but may not be - range is checked at activation I believe and the to-hit check could also be made at that point.
  16. For that you really want a pet that likes to be in melee as opposed to using ranged attacks and it should also have good duration and not be too squishy - so good for /Ice or /Earth but probably of much less use on others. It's excellent on a team however - just remember it will need end reds
  17. Normally when sniping you will be at close the the max range of the power so unless the mobs you are pulling have enhanced perception you will generally be out of their perception range in any event - in which case stealth won't help. It may be sufficient to get close enough to fire a snipe against a mob with enhanced percetion however as it will suppress as soon as you attack once you start the snipe animation you will have no stealth bonus.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
The only thing you can control about your pets is where you create them, and in the middle of the spawn is pretty much where you want them all to be.

Some people take TP Other to position their Phantasm to make best use of his cone attack.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are a few other tricks to positioning them after they are summoned. On my Grav troller I'll move towards the mobs slowly ensuring my sing is following then back up past it - it won't move until you increase the distance. I can then attack and when they try to rush me the pet takes the aggro - sending them flying backwards in the case of a sing - works great on those normally hated tunnel maps.
Works best on pets that are primarily ranged so should work well with Illusion

would that explain why AVs & GMs aren't much affected by it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

They have much higher base endurance (around 600 I think).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Which in turn greatly increases their recovery so even if you do sap them they recover it a lot faster. Several also seem to have end drain resist. Somewhat surprisingly I tend to find it easier to sap GMs than AVs - keeping them at 0 end is another matter though.
  20. VS is a bit like Marmite - you either love it or hate it with very little in between.

I have it on my Kin/Elec Def but rarely use it due to the short duration - its annoying having to keep recasting it every minute especially as it doesn't appear in the pet window so harder to keep track of when it runs out.
Doubling its duration and recharge time would make a huge difference.
Never had any reason to complain about its damage or attack rate although it cannot be affected by buffs/debuffs or damaged so it can be very useful against foes using mez or heavy debuffs.
Not really had any problem with its end cost without endreds but that may be more down to my Kin primary.

Would CoH work better on Vista?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It can do but there are a different set of graphics driver issues there in regards NVidia.
As it stands it sounds more as if your problems are hardware related and you should resolve those before adding any issues with a change of OS.

I still suspect your problem is in either your graphics card is underpowered or is overheating. Remember most cheap PCs these days come with the cheapest PSU they can get away with. A quality 500W PSU will outperform a budget 800W one. The card must be correctly connected to the PSU - if you don't have a manual for the card you will find one on the card manufacturers website - or their support will be able to tell you how the card should be connected - they do after all have a vested interest in making sure it works correctly but make sure you know the exact model of card including version numbers.

[/ QUOTE ]Your opinions but nothing to back up either

    [ QUOTE ]

    Anyway, my main question is WHY the hell are you doing missions before levels 5? Heroside runs very, VERY simply;

-Do Tutorial (optional, its a free lvl for not much work)
    -Beat up street mobs
    OR
-Sewer Run. This will guarentee a slew of lvls really fast, so long as the team is not made of total morons.
-Lvl 5. Proceed to Hollows, complete arcs. Ton of Exp for End of Arc bonus. Teams can run arcs multiple times for loads of exp.

    Villain side its even easier.
    -Tutorial (optional)
-Street slaughter. Head up to Mercy zone asap. Slaughter your way into Port Oakes.

    [/ QUOTE ]
probably because people like doing missions as opposed to street sweeping and given that you should gain around a level per mish solo it not exactly what you would call slow. Considerably faster in a team.
    [ QUOTE ]

    Unless you are dead set on doing the content, the beginning contacts are so NOT worth it, once you done the little horrors for the umpteenth time. Honestly...Villains is SO much worse for inital contacts. Heroes have;
-1 for each origin in Atlas, then 1 for each in Galaxy.
-Total of ten possible contacts from the start.

    [/ QUOTE ]
and those 10 still all give the same 2 initial arcs , redside the two contacts also give different arcs
    [ QUOTE ]

    Villaings get;
-2 contacts. No choice of zones. 1 follow up contact. Same every time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's two follow up contacts not one.

VEAT and HEAT contacts dont count.

    Hover buffed

My Dom hits SS cap at 92.5mph but set bonuses will be able to push that a bit higher. And the temp movement speed buffs might do similarly.
  25. I'd say a Widow is nearer the way a Stalker should have been but I'm sure others will have different opinions. Mine is basically a high defense, highly survivable melee toon that criticals from hide but doesn't rely on it. Others will take the Fortunata route which has more controls - either can take ranged powers I have just chosen to concentrate on the melee powers.
My Soldier isn't really high enough to comment as to how it plays properly and I'm not sure yet whether I want to go the Crab or the Bane route - or even both via dual builds.

But the best way to find out what a AT is like is to actually play it - and I don't mean PL it immediately to 50 but instead level it up normally. The only person that can answer your questions as to which AT is the best is yourself as it all depends on your personal style of play.
So my best suggestion is to create one each of Widow, Fortunata, Crab and Bane and see which you prefer.
