this pretty much sums it up.
There have been 2 servers on the EU test for over a year now and last I logged on there were 3 so nothing new about this - there is still only one that anyone except the dev team can log into on each server farm.
The others will be used to test anything that operates cross server and other things that are not ready to go into closed beta but still require the same sort of environment. -
They already have - the threat levels of the Lts and bosses and the spawn thresholds have been tweaked since this was previously posted about a year ago - it used to be Lt were 0.5, bosses 1 iirc and the heavy spawn threshold was 9x back then.

I'd suggest killing off all unnecessary processes so you are only trying to diagnose a problem with CoH and not confusing matters with other apps.
Leave your AV running but ensure its not updating or carrying out a scan and kill the others off whilst you investigate. Then see if you still have a problem.
Also the RivaTuner and Speedfan make me wonder if you are overclocking the graphics card
if so revert the settings to stock to rule that out - you can put them back later if that isn't the problem. -

Quote:That is frequently a boss that has been demoted because they cannot spawn at that difficulty setting. For several issues now I've seen something similar solo, where every spawn pops as an Lt. I've /bugged that one several times, but I've never seen anything like this until now.
Quote:Characters I've seen this happen on are many, almost exclusively low-level (1-25) enemy groups. I don't think I've seen it at all beyond that point on my higher-level characters.
Quote:- Happens completely at random
- Happens in: regular missions AND Mission Architect (both others' created arcs and my own), particularly scanner/newspaper missions
- Occurs on both Heroes and Villains
- Difficulty settings remain at +0/x0 default setting
- Logging out forces the mission to reset, and typically spawns within normal mission parameters (i.e. minions and Lts, with the occasional boss, but not "a boss in place of every single spawn")
I'd have said I6 but certainly thereabouts. -

Quote:I've found it a lot easier to win since we've had powersave settings imposed ;oThat's what the Reset button is for...if you can find it without taking your eyes off the monitor at least...that way it's not *technically* cheating.
Oh, and hello you two!
Of course it usually happens just as you are finally making some sense of what is causing a bug.
Welcome to the mad house and enough of this chatter - get squashing -
Currently run with CoH on my main monitor and keep (mainly) a web browser, and/or vent on the secondary.
Would be nice to be able to set the various sub windows to display on either monitor but not really interested in spanning the main view over both (or more) as the physical borders on the two monitors are likely to be a major distraction. Also not sure how this could be handled where the two monitors are of different sizes running different resolutions. -
Or if you want the simpler version
Vista introduced a change in the way the OS allocated processor usage such that the OS will attempt to fully utilise the processor.
Win 7 being based in the Vista codebase does this also.
Win XP does not. -
Anniversary is May so no reason for this to clash with Christmas badges
Oh you mean for the event then running - was this the first day of the event? -
Quote:It was much lower on launch - may be close to the CoV minimum though.Okay, when looking at the Going Rogue pre-purchase page, I saw this:
Uhm... are we sure about this? Seriously? I've bought games recently where the minimum specs provided a wonderful gameplay experience (I find GFW to be quite good about this), but I'm pretty certain that these minimum specs would not do so with COH in this day and age. Heck, I'm not sure if it would even run Windows XP in a satisfactory manner! Is there any chance of these minimums getting updated anytime soon? Because, and I could well be wrong on this, aren't these the same minimum specs as COH had when it launched?
Ive had both CoH and CoV running on a Celeron at 400Mhz running Win 98 and even a P90 under Win 95 (barely) for CoH in the past.
Upping the memory makes a huge difference though.
Oh and the CD/DVD Rom drive won't be necessary if its a digital download. -
Time included with purchased products isn't free its just included in the purchase - i.e. its still paid time.
Free time would be time given on trial accounts, that gained from prizes and presumably the extra months given for loyalty recently. It would also include time granted as compensation when the problems on he servers became excessive. -
I think you might need a few more costume pieces before you can do that robot dog - would be nice though - both the idea of a extension cord and for animal body types.

Quote:Yes you guessed it SG membership and as a result bases don't transfer. There isn't really any easy was to manage this as you can only have members on the same server. I suppose it could be transferred when the last member transfers but I don't anticipate this being a particularly high priority.well while this is nice, i want to ask IF and IF they do shut down servers, what would happen to my SG? and base? i have a 1 person SG/VG and I spent a LOT of time building. if it could not transfer, I would be VERY upset. and I assume others are in similar spot.I have used only 7 transfers from the first week,

They didn't! Its tasteless remeber
GZ to War Witch on the promotion - good to know that the woman in charge is someone that has paid attention to those of us in the EU and even met some of us.
Now you just need to work on post count a bit more - I'm not convinced being known as a rookie is a good idea for a lead developer. -
Found that message on my work PC's screen this morning - no games software installed or anything else that plays around with screen resolutions for that matter.
Hit the monitor power button a couple of times and it came back to life - could be that the monitor has different input options and you just need to toggle through them. -
It may be worth looking at the second hand market. I'd expect you should be able to find something better for around a tenner - and probably similar in carriage costs.
New cards to fit AGP or PCI are likely to be more expensive than higher spec modern cards. At least its not a VESA slot.
I'd agree that it would be a better option to bite the bullet look at replacing the whole PC - even the cheapest PC out there would give a big increase in performance. -
Quote:Given that there are a few mishes with simultaneous click glowies how did you manage that? After that I will have soloed all redside story arcs, every mission. Really annoying that they threw an anchor on the last one.
But yes Escaped (I presume it was that one anyway) got me about half way there when I first did it. - there are a couple of mishes with 20-30 of them in on the arc and some in the other mishes. -
Had this as well since I had the update fail about a year ago.
Error message on trying to load but click OK and it carries on to load up the character. I suppect its something to do with checking or downloading updates thats throwing it. The program itself seems to work fine once it starts. -
Quote:Is the second hard disk partitioned and formatted - it its not you won't see it in explorer - should still show up in Hard Disk Administrator (or whatever its called in Win7)just got a new PC, i5 e750 with a geforce 260 gtx 896 mb vid card, two HDDs 4 gigs ram. Currently windows 7 only shows one hard drive in windows explorer but it shows both in devices manager. How do I get it to see both, and what is best to store on the second drive ?
Device manager shows the physical hardware
Explorer shows those configured to work with Windows
Also check they aren't both set up as drive C.
If they are EIDE drives and both attached to the same IDE controller one should be set up as master and the other as slave (set by jumpers on the drives themselves)
If they are on different controllers then both should be set as master.
If its a SATA drive check that you have the SATA drivers installed.
Also if they are set up as a Raid array you will only see one drive - It's capacity will either be the capacity of a single drive (mirrorring) or the total of both (striping)
There could also be other disk spanning software which would give a similar effect to striping (but without the performance benifits) -
-
You can see this outside of mishes as well - e.g. in Talos as you head back to the main area from the DA entrance some of the rock outcrops disappear until you get closer. Other objects further away are still visible.
I assume this is to do with the visibility distance settings and is done to reduce load on the GPU -
A few possibilites for this
Could be a corrupted graphics driver
more likely though is windows has crashed whilst running something on a different resolutions or a failed update.
If this is the case just reset your resolution and put your icons back as you want them.
lastly check if you have changed the connector your monitor is connected to - different ports can have different settings - generally this is used for multiple monitors.
You can also check that your system is correctly identifying your monitor or if it is just using the basic windows driver this will show up as "Generic Monitor" - that will give a max resolution of 1024x768 iirc
