Quote:Part of the rationale behind the WSTs was to encourage players to run the less popular TFs/SFs. It shouldn't be necessary that every time a specific SF is the redside WST that the blueside one needs to be the same.Respec trials come up so often because they do their best to keep the red and blue WSTs "equivalent" to each other. With villains having so few WST options, any given SF or trial is going to come up a lot (especially with the three different versions of each respec trial counting as separate WSTs). And when that's a treespec, blueside gets Terra Volta.
Again.
There are still both TFs and SFs that are very rarely run but never form a WST. -
I'd suspect its down to Atlas having been redone and the old low res maps aren't rendering correctly.

Quote:To you maybe - to others its appearance, to others still its gameplot, to others still its something else.Possibly but, performance is the most important thing when it comes to games(along with usability but usability requires good performance).
They can't add their cash shop purchases and expect them to go over well with bugs putting people off of them.
To the businessmen that allocate the development resourses its whatever generates the best financial return - that will be a balance of what everyone wants. -
Quote:You missed1) If this is such a big issue then there is a problem.
A) A lot of people report it and customer support sweeps it under the rug or it gets lost or whatever that signals a problem with customer support.
B) They know about it and don't have an idea that will fix it.
C) Nobody is reporting it.
D) They have seen all those reports, logged an issue to get it resolved but marketing have flagged up issues E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O.... which are all much higher priority as they generate a better financial return for the business. -
Quote:If that was all that this is about I might agree with that sentiment but I feel that people's time is important if you commit to doing something then it is your duty to see that through - at least until there is a consensus that something can no longer be done. It doesn't matter whether that is something in a game or something that will change history - its still their time that you are wasting. There is very little in life that takes a back seat to a video game.
As Tony said if someone says before starting that they only have so long to do the task then I am perfectly prepared to accept that and there is no problem with them leaving at or after that time - they have met what they had committed to do but those joining and finding it doesn't finish in the fastest possible time then leaving I have no interest in teaming with.
As my villains might say
If you won't spend the time - don't do the SF or any other crime
Quote:Seems to be my week for slow task forces. Last night did a Katie Hannon, in 1hour 10min. sigh.
I've known longer - think I've had one take 2 1/2 hours before - still remember my first Synapse - over 5 hours and SSTF1 was typically about 18 - most people scheduled it over two days thought we were doing great when we got that down to sub 3 hours -
Quote:FYI, I believe the "new behavior" the OP mentions, that we have been discussing, was brought to the game after they worked on knockback to allow flying characters to continue flying instead of being knocked all the way down to the ground from the slightest knockback, taking falling damage as well.
Given that the ragdoll physics are handled clientside and the KB changes affect character position which is serverside code I can't see these being related. -
Quote:Not as rare as you may think - just that its most commonly known as Windows Server 2003The other option is to find 64-bit XP drivers for your motherboard's disk controller. The manufacturer may have these, but 64-bit XP was pretty rare so they may not.
Latest SP is SP2 for that. -
Quote:Saw the problem of the chat window and powers bar moving away from the edge of the screen but had no problem moving them back but I play with maximised windows. The chat box and the default power bars both get shoved away from the top and bottom of the screen, as if I saved their positions below or to the right of the place I saved them to.
That is the first problem. The UI windows will not go back into the correct place.

Where your desktop resolution differs from your game resolution and something causes the game to crash it can mess up your windows settings though - leaving your desktop set to your game resolution. -
Quote:could someone else have reduced this setting - not necessarily the person now with the superleader position as if you had timed out then whoever next logged in would be promoted.I couldn't have been auto-demoted due to time logged out, since I have auto-demotion set to 30 days at least and I have logged in the character in the last week.
Also have you tried asking the new Superleader to promote you? -
Quote:I'm going to join with Feefa and go with the "not experiencing this at all" sentiment. It looks like a graphical artefact and so is probably related to your GPU or its drivers but until we see the details Hyperstrike asked for (the picture on his post is a link) there's not much more anyone can say.Edit: All these views and not a single person can say "not experiencing this at all". Ok so after playing a bit more I discovered the length the graphics anomaly stays has to do with my movement cause on one character when i was just standing around it stayed. Again, before I22 i never had this problem.

Quote:I now have enough money in my checking account, so that if I wanted to, I could get a Lifetime Subscription to this game, provided such a thing is still possible. Is it still possible, and, how do I go about getting one? Thanks for the help on this!
You could purchase 1200 months of VIP - that should pretty much give you a lifetime subscription. If it doesn't then you shouldn't have much reason to complain. -
Did you exit the launcher and restart it before trying to repair - it sounds like windows is holding a lock on that file and preventing it from being updated.
If that fails then try deleting the problem file and then repairing -
FreeRam.exe - you do realise that these utilities don't help on PCs running any recent Windows version and can result in reduced performance as they interfere with Windows memory management forcing more frequent disk access and so slowing the system down..
I'm sure I've seen some reports also of incompatabilties between SnapFish and CoH -
Quote:You gotta create fresh new stuff. AND you need to register it first.
That would depend where you do the creation.
In the UK copyright is automatic unlike trademarks and patents there is no need to register it.
Things can get more complicated if you create something whilst working for someone else, using their tools and/or time in which case you may be considered to be acting as their agent and the copyright in such a case may belong in part or completely with the employer.
A similar situation may be the case here where the character is created within the context of the game.
If on the other hand you own the copyright prior to creating the character (probably not easy as the character is created within the game rather than being imported in to it) you would retain that copyright but may give up certain exclusive rights as defined in the EULA.
Other forms of IP would be easier to maintain ownership of.
The best option is to consult a lawyer beforehand and then agree a contract with NCSoft making it clear who owns what IP and what each party may do with it. Once you have that in place it will be much easier to proceed. -
Quote:Have you previously claimed that power or had it automatically granted - if so you won't get to pick it again.I'm a tier-9 VIP, so have filled all three "Power Choice:" bubbles (tiers 3, 5, and 6).
On some of my older characters, I have the first two claimed but no option for claiming the third. It's not affecting new characters; I can claim all three powers on them.
I'm thinking it's the characters who had the tier-6 available but uncollected when they switched to the Paragon Rewards system...
Anyone else experiencing this?
Any suggestions?
[I sent it in as a "Bug Report" on one character; should I have sent it in as "Technical Issue"/petition instead?]
There was also a bug at one point where you could have all 4 powers and all the non combat pets. These were disabled but still present in the powers trays when that was fixed. It may be possible that if you were affected by the previous bug then the game is detecting an existing power even though it is disabled and not giving you the option as a result.
If you want someone to fix it then yes you should /petition it. If you want to report a bug then /bug it. If you want to do both then /petition and /bug it.
The reports go to different departments. -

Quote:You only need to unlock it to start the TF. You can join it without unlocking it.Sadly, Hess and Katie have to be unlocked via non-tf story arcs. So, that would eliminate those options, given the criteria by the OP.
That would be more applicable to ITF as you need to do the mish to gain access to Cim -
Quote:Thanks for replying - I think it was called "collectors" in the US.
Its the one with power slide and cape of the 4 winds.
I've tried selecting my account - going to "add code" - but when I put in the code it prompts me to create an account - even though I started the process from the desired account in the first place.
I googled it - and I found someone had to get support to add the code for them, but that was a few years ago and I was hoping it had changed....
That would be the DVD Edition for CoH. Collectors edition was CoV.
You should be able to add it provided you don't already have a code for that vesion registered against your game account -
have you tried reversing the order
i.e.
/macro f "cc 1$$powexec_toggleon fly"
there are some things which will interrupt the executed command - don't know if the costume change is one of them. -
Quote:really depends on what you are playing - speed runs are fine for toons that can handle the extra aggro but on squishies they can mean a lot more debt which will significantly slow levelling. Once you reach higher levels and can pick up defence bunuses from IOs this becomes less of a hindrance as you can choose to slot for defence but on a balanced team and a normal run the melee toons can take that aggro and there is no need to slot for extra defence. On a speed run there is a lot of loose aggro. It is possible that I could be wrong - but by my way of thinking, assuming you're on a team that is consistent, (and capable) you're better off speeding. Mission completion bonuses are a sizeable chunk of xp. I would rather do 2 speed itfs than 1 long, kill most itf.
Funny thing is, I've never done an ITF with a sub 50 char, so I might be horribly wrong.
For the OP, I would guess there'd be nothing to stop the group from doing another DFB once they finished Synapse to get them that push to be high enough for Sister. After Sister, they'd be wise to run a Moonfire. (and they'd probably have to to get high enough for Citadel.
After Citadel, you'll be about 27, maybe 28. Defeats and debt for different members of the group will impact things a bit, as well xp boosters and such.
But! Double XP weekend is coming up! Do it in one weekend, hero! -
Quote:what your seeing is the mb or ps turning itself off because it see a dead short in the system. check that there no screws shorting the under side of the mb (ie dropped screw) or the i/o shield short or one of the stand off is missing and the mb is hitting the mb tray.also check that your reset/power and hd led wires are on the right header. you may have the hd header on the reset pins and the mb is stuck in reset mode. you can check your ps to see if it fine by google power supply green wire. with a small wire or paper clip you can make any power supply turn on without being connected to a mb. also on your build check that you pluged in the atx power plug it a small 4 pin plug and if your using a video card that all the power plugs are connected.
That's not the only cause - what is happening is that when the PC is powered up the PSU checks the PWR_CHK line if this does not return +5v it assumes there is a fault and immedietely powers down to protect the system. A short can cause this but so can faulty MB, CPU or PSU or indeed anything that shows up during POST which is deemed sufficiently critical including the thermal sensor on the CPU which will signal a fault if the temperatures go too high and ground the PWR_CHECK thus shutting down the PSU.
The reason you can power up the PSU in that way is because you are bridging the +5v line to the PWR_CHK line but bear in mind that the +5V is rated to carry much higher currents.
For a short the most likely causes are a screw dropped inside the case - quickest check for that - pick up the PC and shake it - if you hear a metallic rattle something is loose that shouldn't be. Just don't forget PCs are heavy so bend your knees NOT your back. -
Quote:OK no problem CMOS jumper is shown on p7 bottom right opposite the ram slotsThanks for the advice guys. I'm going to try some more testing today when I get home before I send back the parts with the RMA.
I have the manual so I'll recheck the instructions
Procedure on p25 - unplug from mains and short the jumper.
Load the Fail Safe defaults - you can reapply any overclock once you know you have a working system.
Doesn't sound like failed ram - that will generally give a beep code and you say you find the system still auto shutting down with nothing installed except the CPU and presumably the CPU fan.
That would restrict it to MB, CPU or PSU - same problem with the other PSU make it unlikely that is the problem.
So as I said clear your BIOS settings and then try again with only CPU and CPU fan connected - if the fan keeps spinning start adding everything else back in until either it fails or you have a working system.
Oh and too much TIM between the CPU and the heatsink can be worse than too little as it will act as a thermal insulator - it is intended to fill in the microscopic gaps not to create a thick layer between the two. It has better conductivity than air but is much poorer than metal to metal contact -
Quote:You should also still be able to get Isolator blueside in Recluses Victory - there is one contaminated spawns in or under the tram station about every 45 mins - I presume you can build up credit towards it redside as well.Do the Ouroboros entrance arc you get from Pilgrim. One of the first missions you will be sent on takes you to the original tutorial for each side to fix something that went wrong. Since the enemies and maps are identical to the originals, the badges are available there.

Premiums should be able to unlock each arc but the unlock is per arc and not the entire set.
Also not sure if you can join the arc for an opposing alignment.
