  1. Tuesday Sep 13th at 10 pm Eastern: Soul of the Woodsman (aka Numina TF)

Level 35+, min 4 to start, normally 36 merits, but since it's the WST, you'll get 72 merits as well as a larger than normal mish completion XP bonus (as long as you haven't already run it)

If you'd like to reserve a spot, please leave your global, toon name and AT.

    1. @GATE-keeper: Threebeard (SD/Mace Tank)
    2. @Ellscry: Between (Elec/SD Brute)
    3. @AdAstra: Winter Shock (Elec/Cold Controller)
    4. @Angelica Venger: Angelica Taxibot (Grav/FF Controller)
    5. @GD-Archmage: Timm Gunn (DP/MM Blaster)

Since the purpose of doing these is to help each other level alts, we're going after xp, so we won't typically speed or stealth thru the mishes. We won't treat every mish as a Kill All, but we will kill it if it's in our way.

i.e. They're born into their first body, then use their first regeneration to regenerate into their second body. Then use their second regeneration to regenerate into their third body, etc.

    Or did they retcon that?

Well, about the game, you're right. You're just wrong about supermodels.

  11. Judging by the cover, the eras seem to be all screwed up. Some Legionaires are in their Grell/Cockrum era costumes (Element Lad, Shadow Lass), while others are in their Giffen era costumes (Chameleon Boy, Cosmic Boy).

Oh, and lol, you can see part of Superboy's feet on the right. And Supergirl's in the upper right corner. Whatta they doin there ?
  12. This has been done, and thank you to the very helpful, Ad Astra!

    Nope, not incarnate, not co-op.

    Contact is in Founders Falls.

The TF's pretty much a cake walk until the final mish. (Well, there is one mish where you potentially face Invincible Reichsman at the end, but he is easily dodged by ducking into an Ouro Portal)

At the end you just pound on M. Bison Big Bag o' Hitpoints for hours till he's deaders. Oh yeah, there are four other minor annoyances buzzing around while you're dancing with him.
  14. I'll bring Magius Aegis, Ill/Storm Troller
  15. If you're going to be online tonight, could you scrounge up an alt who's not already in an SG to help me get three of my alts into my solo SG?

I'll invite you with my main, promote you up to Tier 5, then you invite my three alts, promote them to Tier 5, then you quit.

I'll even give you a crafted Level 30 LotG Global Recharge for your trouble.

Send me a tell in game, my global is @GATE-keeper

    3. 20 levels later, make a VEAT.

    ?

Mairenn MacGregor is moving to the RI?

Because, as it stands now, you can only unlock a VEAT if you start an AT in the Rogue Isles and play the toon to level 20 while never leaving the Rogue Isles.

But the Sewer Trial is only playable blueside.

Is any of this changing for i21?

(I know in i21 you will essentially start all toons in Galaxy [except for Praetorians] but at the end of the tutorial, you are given the choice of continuing in Paragon City or moving to the Rogue Isles. If you are suggesting the OP start a villain AT in Galaxy and choose to stay in Paragon, I don't think this will unlock VEAT's.)

Note: I haven't confirmed this, but the wiki says that if you start a villain AT as a Praetorian and then move to the Rogue Isles when you leave Praetoria at level 20, then that will unlock VEATs. Can any one confirm this?

Yes, I've noticed a marked improvement in frame rates on this map!

Although I haven't tried a Lambda, a normal mish with this map is now bearable.

Not perfect (still has lower than normal frame rates and I HATE those patches on the floor that are bleach white), but a tremendous improvement.

    GJ Devs!

  22. I'm trying to decide between a DP/? Blaster and a DP/? Corr. I'm generally a teamer, but I prefer my toons to be usable while soloing.

I understand Defiance works all the time, but I can't find any hard and fast numbers for how much damage it adds. I know it varies from power to power with ST powers adding more damage than AoE's but how much extra damage are we talking about, generally? Playing around in game, it seems difficult to get it much past 30-35% extra damage. (Outdoor spawns, the extra damage percentage tended to drop down to the teens while running to next spawn. Only level 10, so lower tier attacks. Is it easier to get past 30% with higher tier attacks and larger spawns?)

Scourge is easy, I understand it does no extra damage until the target reaches 50% HP, then gradually increases up to 100% extra damage when the target reaches 20% HP. Which means, if you're soloing, you will eventually get to 100% extra damage on every single person you fight.

Obviously, the core powers without benefit of Defiance or Scourge do far more damage with a Blaster than a Corruptor. But will Scourge's damage boost make up the difference?
  23. Tuesday August 16th at 10 pm Eastern, The Fall of the Clockwork King (aka Synapse Task Force)

    A) the planet of the apes (Soror) was a different world, but one that paralleled Earth's development, and

    B) the "Taylor" character in the book returned to Earth to find that 700 years had passed and the humans on Earth had made the same mistakes as the humans on Soror, and apes had become the dominate species on Earth too.

Granted, the idea of two planets hundreds of light years apart developing identical intelligent lifeforms and experiencing similar historical events is pretty goofy these days, but in the context of the book it at least made more sense. The movie made it seem like some one had travelled to Earth's distant past and replaced humans with apes and it was more confusing than anything else.
imho, the twist at the end of the novel was far more entertaining than the twist at the end of either the '68 film or the '01 film. Of course, the novel's twist would have been nearly impossible to pull off in a movie....
