The only person that knows the equation is pohsyb, and so far he hasn't shared more than generalities.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The basis of color is a hash function (who's name escapes ATM) done on your global name. The hash value is then used as RGB collor values for the name. There some extra thing done to make sue the color is bright enough, but that's the gist of it.

    What the heck is this?

If that's a pad in the center of that thing on the bottom, it's huge. With that as pad, a teleport, time machine, a dimensional portal? Could it be Ubelmann, part duex?

Is it just me, or does that show Reichsman being...like 50 feet tall? Pretty sure those are Longbow in the background.

I've seen people slot procs on Stamina. How the heck does that work?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Rule of thumb for procs is simple. Procs have a chang\ce to fire upon power activation and then every 10 seconds the power continues. It's as simple as that. It doesn't matter what type of power the Proc is in.

Btw, this community is much more kind and helpful than the other MMOs I've been in. ^-^

    That better?

    Oh...and welcome to the game.

How much logical consistency can we reasonably demand of a game that intentionally incorporates so many disparate "reasons" for super-powered-ness?

Lots. There is no imperative to be logical inconsistent.

For instance, would it actually hurt anything if the /info on a Nemesis soldier said "The weapons used by these troops may look archaic, but that's just an affectation. On the inside, Nemesis technology is nothing but cutting edge superscience" instead of trying to tell us that Nemesis is so CRAZY BRILLIANT that he can do things with steam that are utterly impossible?

    [/ QUOTE ]

In my view, Nemesis isn't doing impossible things with steam. "Steampunk" tech is merely his obsession. I think his technology is based on the absence of semiconductor technology and advanced battery technolgy. In essence, what Steampunk tech is all about.

Perhaps the coming storm is an invasion of Praetorian beings from their universe to the universe of Paragon City.

    (Coming Storm = Going Rogue?)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Spoiler warning.

That might be. But there is a lot of plot threads which casts it into doubt. From the Mendor Silos Introo missions, the Coming Storm uses the Shivans/Meteors as scouts. The Shivans are from space and apparently from the Primal Earth dimension.
So unless one can tie the Shivans to Praetoria, I would discount this theory.

Is time the only answer for me?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes. Time is your only answer. You should stop asking questions on the player questions section of the fourms. You are stealing valuable time that posters could be answering questions of new players...er, ummmm.....

You are tapping into one of the answer resources. And you invoked the urges of people who like to answer questions. There's also ParagonWiki.com which is a huge resource And if you need hints on where to look, there section of good as well.

I'm so excited! can't wait to get the full version.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Once you have the game client installed and running, that IS the full game client. The stuff that you have, can do and access are determined by various codes you have applied to your Game Account. To get a full Game Account, you have to acquire a full "Game Code" either from a boxed game set or a game code from the NcSoft online store. The various game editions have ingame goodies that are applied your account: useful powers, costume sets or access to a Costume Booster set. The costume sets are a notch above the excellent normal costumes.

NOTE: Be sure to *UPGRADE* your Game Account with the Game Code. *UPGRADE* with the Game Code.

And just so you know Time Codes/Card are total different from a Game Code. Time Code/Cards only add time to a Full Game Account. Game codes upgrade you account to a Full Game Account and give your a free month of playtime as well.

When did you change call thugs? I just respected my Thug/Dark today. And aint did it in a long time. But when i respected my Thug/Dark today i could not put my Defense Debuff IO's back in my Call Thugs.
When did you change it? And why did you change it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The reason for the change is that none of the Thugs attacks have any -DEF effects in their attacks. Slottting DEF Buffs did nothing but waste slots. So they removed the ability to slot Defense Debuffenhancers and IO Sets.

    issue 15 powers

    [ QUOTE ]
Well, we have been told that Dual Pistols and Demon summoning is coming to players via Positron. People are assuming we will have them when the new characters go live.

    [/ QUOTE ]

All Positron was to hint on what 2 new powers sets would be. We have added verification from the new Cinematic Trailer and the news release. We don't have any idea as to the time frame when we will have the new powers sets.
  12. BARTENDER?

    I have 5 of what he's having.
  13. You aren't the only player to go through the frustration phase of KhReeldians. I was close a few times to giving up on my first PB until it finally clicked. The hard part for me was unlearning everything I had learned upto that point. Quite trying to shoehorn a Kheldian a core AT. Tihis was when Kheldians first came out. There were no good guides as to how to play one.
  14. It's nothing as complex a script changing your aimations. It's simply a water area in which the "ground" slopes goes down below the rendered surfaces of the water. Since you are still in "water", the swimming and treading water animations are used. If you fly or activation a power, you'll see the normal fly/standing animations.

If they could change up the under/water animation routines and add in "fly" power but swimming animations instead of flying animations. They could have a decent underwater zone. But I don't have any ideal how complication it would be, Or even it it was possible with the cuurrent game engine.
  15. No is isn't about that fleeing problem. It's about other type of fleeing. Mission Boss objectives who trying to get away when reach 1/2 or 1/4 Health. And the goal is to stop the boss from fleeing. Best know (and hated) mission of thiis type is red side where you have to prevent Crimson from fleeing.

The problem is a chance in behavior since I14. Instead of staying at their spawn points and them fleeing when their reach their programmed flee conditions. Upon spawning the Bosses immediately go into their flee behavior (spouting out their dialog and heading towards mission door/elevator. But when they see and aggro onto a player the Boss will stop and start attacking. The boss will not try to flee once they start attacking the player(s).

I've noticed this happening on three different missions now. So I think it's definitely a trend happening. Has anyone else noticed this behavior? And I guess the obvious question is this now working as intended or a bug?

    Closed Beta

The most important testing of all is "Can the new TS and SF withstand the onslaught of the players."
  17. Eh. Any guess is good as another at this point. After view the trailer a time (or 12), this is what I think about what going to be in it.

The missions to shift the moral compass will be playing in the and among the Praetoria content. It's a design that fits very well thematically with the new setting. And its very much inline with the way the recent Issues have been designed. Because the moral compass tech we know is going to be introduced into the game, I can't see how the devs could refuse the challenge of implementing the Spy AT. An Archetype which can skirt both all of the moral compass with impunity.

And taking in the trailer, there is a lot of symbolism in it. Desmodia's fire shifting from Red to Blue symbolizing her apparent redemption from villainy to heroics. Statesman and Recluse juxtaposition to each other in Primal Earth. And the the transition between Statesman's face and Emperor Cole's face in Praetoria. But what to make of Manticore and Ghost Window in the trailer.

Both Manticore and Ghost Widow could be said to be second in command to their respective organizations. But that doesn't really flow into the theme of the Expansion or trailer. Looking into the comics and game lore and alternate versions of the future, we see that Manticore walks very close to the moral compass boundary. In game he founds and perhaps funds Wyvern which are know to bend the rule to the breaking point to reach their goals. Very much working in the grey zone.

Now on to Ghost Window, she is bound to Arachnos itself, not Lord Recluse. Even though he leads Arachnos at the present. that Recluse can be reckless in his pursuit to crush Statesman and Paragon City. Reckless to the point of endangering the Arachnos organization. So that may give room for (or even force) Ghost Window to work against the wishes of Recluse and do "good" things. If her actions are for the benefit Arachnos.

Which leads me to the conclusion of a 3rd "side" emerging into the game. Manticore and Ghost Widow being the leaders of organizations, NPCs and player (and new Spy AT?) who work in the grey area of the moral compass. Working with or against everyone in order to...(?)

B.) The problem with power customization was that it would take too much time or energy to do in an issue. Being that this is an expansion, and much bigger than any 1 issue, Power customization could fit.

I think people read too much into that one scene. To me, it was It was just symbolic are being able to crossover back and forth.

Is there anywhere in the game with power suppression that isn't on it's own, separate map?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't know of any constant ones. But the Devs seem to be able to turn it off and on as something like an AoE toggle. I've seen both Ghost Widow and BaB turn suppression on during different events. It certainly didn't seem to be affecting those who were far away from them.

[/ QUOTE ] They should have turned it on for ten second bursts during the recent event with all the monsters and AVs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I actually did at one point, right before spawning in a Blue Mito.

Kicker is, you guys still managed to kill it!

I'm NEVER listening to another complaint about nerfed powers again!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Let's see Power Supression turns off Players's powers but leave AI controlled critter's powers intact. Masterminds can spawn AI controlled critters. But flagged as friendly to players. So MM can lord over the powerless. At least until their henchman get splatted.

And a Blue Mito? Pfft. A MM or 3 can take one down no problem. Now a Yellow Mito on the other hand... >;-)
  20. Personal attacks should be a matter of choice for the player. It all depends on how active and now much Endurace you secondary uses. For my MMs using /Traps I've taken all of the personal attacks. /Traps is very end friendly and most everything is fire and forget.

I don't think Jay has any say in it. I think it's up to people like Posi. I believe there's a Sacred Rule (TM) that players are only supposed to ever have one cape. It may have to do with lag or something, but that's at least what I've heard when people mention things like the sybil outfits.

I just wonder if this means we can't do bolero + wings? Because my valkyrie is doing that right now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's actually because of a budget. It's the computational badget for all of the various effects in the game. Even down to the static costume pieces. Check out how the new longier hair styles, suits, skirts, et al cling and move with the body. It takes computation time either from the processor and/or video card to render them.

They have target hardware specfications which sets the total processing available, they have a maximum number of complex MOBs they will be rendered. Divide the first by the second. And that gives you the total cycles avaiable to render your character. That's the budget they have to worth within. Capes in motion eat a lot of cycles. Evidently 2 mores chews up most if not all of the per character budget.

I'd love to have more complex costumes and multple auras. But I'd rather not have my Nvida 9800GT video card sounding like a jet engine turbine for just walking to City Hall in Atlas Park.

    Arc Reviews

Idiot Ball syndrome is especially irritating when used on MA missions since they are quite literally linear. It MA had a branching dialog and mission feature, Idiot Ball syndrome could work. You would leave lots of clues and oppurunityes for the players to see what's happening and react to it. But if they get to the end of hte arc and are the patsy, well it's probably greatly desired on the players part.
  24. Title: A Day in the Life of...Dr. Aeon
    Arc ID: 1296
    Creator’s Global Name: @fuzun
Difficulty Level: Medum (might be more difficult with large team)
Synopsis – A typical day in the life of the Rogue Isle's favorite Mad Scientist. When one is sometimes suck(er)ed into Aeon's machinations, willing or not.
Number of EB/AVS – Too numerous to count (But you don't have to fight them all. And you'll have some help)
    Story Type – Humor
    Mission Count: 4
Estimated Time to Play: Under an hour or so.

Note – This is an arc which is a follow up/sequel to some game arcs involving Dr. Aeon directly or indirectly. I mean the arc to be a fun romp regardless if you win, lose or draw. Please read the text otherwise your'll miss out on the story and humor. And see if you can guess the movie reference I make in the arc.
  25. Opp. I forgot about. I thought VS wasn't grouped with them.
