  1. With my rebuilt PB Lustrious (tri-form with emphasis on Human and Dwarf) I went with Cardiac and eventually with Cardiac Core for the added range of the ranged attacks. And ultimately going towards to the Cardiac Core Paragon for the bigger End Reduction with the the Range and Damage Res boost for icing. Her build is very heavy with Hamidon Enhancers with lots of level 50 IOs to fill in the gaps. I think the count is up to 43 Hamios. Endurance Cost Reduction was the biggest problem with the build.

I personally like Seekers as they are (although I wouldn't object to recharge shortening a bit). But an alternate version of Seeks that I've envisioned is a role like the Warshade's Extractions. Basically basic power stats of Dark Extraction but summons 3 mini-me's with Glearming Bolt and Gleeming Blast attacks. And in exchange for reduced damage they are a tough pet like we are in Light Form. That way they can be sort of a mini-Tank pet.

(I have this scene is my mind of a Giant Monster with the Seekers buzzing around him like insects blasting away at it.)
  3. The only change which I greatly desire is to give the Kheldian inherent power a base Mag 1 Status protection in addition to the +1 Mag per Controller/Domiator. That way have 1 Controller/Dominator on the team would have a tangible effect on game play. At present have Mag 1 Status protection vs Hold/Sleep/Stun/Immob provides absolutely no benefit for a Kheldian.

I played an old one I had this weekend though. Was just a bit away from 18 and had a boatload of patrol XP. Got to 18 no problem, and made my way to 19. I played solo much of the afternoon yesterday, just running standard missions, no bosses. And...egads.

I think I died more on that character just going from 19 to 20 than I had TOTAL on just about any other character. Ok, maybe that's an exaggeration. But I must have been defeated at least two dozen times (I had picked up the Resuscitation temp power, it was available maybe one out of four?).

It seemed like every group of mobs had the ability to take me down. Three +1 minions, three EVEN minions, Gardvords, Ancestral Spirits, Vampyrs, etc. I did my best and used insps when I had them, but that wasn't all the time. Some missions I'd have to rest/Rest after every encounter. Nevermind the couple of times where the spawn was Ink Man (mez), Quantum Red Ink, Sorcerer (so if I'm not asleep, I go after the Sorc while getting pounded by the Quant, or I hit the Quant only to...have him healed).

I'm bullheaded, so I kept playing until I hit 20. But afterward I remembered why I didn't play him - it just wasn't enjoyable. I *hope* that changes at higher levels.
Some acumulated player knowledge that seems to have been forgotten. The Dwarf and Nova forms are there to help a player solo. The Nova is the distilled essence of a blaster. 2 Single Target attacks and 1 targeted AoE attack with near the range of a snipe. And a rather large cone attack. And an inherent Buildup power that rather like Follow (+9 ToHit and +45% Damage) and perma-Fly that faster then Energy Flight. And w/o any enhancers in the attacks.

And the Dwarf form is a pocket Tanker. 2 Single target attacks and 1 PBAoE which are akin to a Tanker's attacks with Taunt componnent. Provoke power for a taunt power. Add 2 slots in the Dwarf form power nets you near 60% Damage to but Psionic Damage. Tanker level health boost which can be added to with Essence Boost. And Tanker level Status protection. With a very high powered Combat Jump power clone now its powered by Hurdle. And Teleport for another movement power.

And the forms are now affected by the Inherent Fitness power. Endurange woes are largely done. Dwarf is now a leaping fool.

If you choice to forgo the forms, solo is still possible but will be much harder. a PB is not like any other Core AT. It a bit of all of them which combine into it's own unique style. You have to learn the ins and outs of playing a PB. It took me 40 levels and 3 respecs to finally "get" Kheldians a month after Issue 3 went live.
  5. My Warshade has all three forms but is focused as a Human form build. I found the forms useful at times. Nova for flying and longer range blasting, and Dwarf form for RES when few (or one) enenies are around. Something which I've done on my Warshade is to slot IO sets that give +ACC set bonuses. My Warshade is Purpled out from years before so my +ACC is +87%. Even so, if you can eek out around 33% (or more) ACC set bonuses, that and Nova's inherent ToHit Bonus should do you quite well.

As I've previously said all of my slots are in my human form. So I've slotted Hamidon CytoSkeleton Exposure enhancers (RAM/Range) in my Nova's attacks. The 2 single target and targted AoE sll now have nearly the range of s Snipe attack. And the Cone attack is now rather huge. With my ACC set bonues and Nova ToHit, I can fight +3s without feeling the need for a Mire.

I really hope the devs are devoting some effort to fixing it.
No. The delay in switching to the stance to Follow was to prevent MMs from abusing Bodyguard mode. It would have allowed MM's to have complete control over whom their pets attack and have the nigh invulnerabiltu of BG mode. When Bodyguard mode was first announced, I saw that exploit right off the bat. The devs anticipated the craftiness of the players.

    PB and WS on SOs

Flux, there is somehting very elementak you are missing about the Peacebringer forms. The Bright Nova is the distilled essence of a Blaster. It very descent attack chain if you slot them up. You have 2 single target attachs and 1 AoE attack that has a range of 100. And an cone attack of large size. And in a +Range enhacement and you have attack that at nearly Snipe Range. And the Nova has a an inherent Build Up which is slightly less powerful than a Blasters, the perma +10 ToHit Buff and +45% Damage Buff. (which averages over time to be slightly less then Blaster's Build Up.) And a +REC is you slot for it.

And the White Dwarf form is a pocket Tanker. High resistance to most damage. Self heal for 1/2 Health every 30 seconds (slotted). Combat Jumping-lite which you can slot for. And the +REC that Nova form has. And it's a decent tanker attack chain 2 single target attacks and a PBAoE which all have the Taunt component that Tanker attacks have. And A Provoke power which isn't 1/2 bad slotted up as well. A Dwarf can tank about as well as any Pre-Issue 3 Tanker. You can hold a lot of aggro is you know what you are doing. With the I19 Fitness power change. The forms get just that that much better. A lot more +REC and Dwarf get a big movement boost from Hurdle, Swift. It makes a huge amount of difference.

You look at them as though you stay in the forms all the time. That's not playing a Kheldian as a Kheldian. I tried plyaing my Peacebringer like the core Hero ATs. And I was dissatisfied with them. It wasn't until after 40 levels and 2 respecs that I finally "got" Kheldians: Flexibility. That is the role of a Kheldian. Even a Human only Kheldian build ha sa lot of flexibility. They aren't going to be as good as a Scrapper, Blaster, Defender, Control or Tanker. But they can be all 5 when they need to be.

That follows. Castle experimented with Mind Link. It's flagged to not respond to pure Recharge enhancement. You can sneak it by by using a combo enhancement with recharge as one of the components.

  12. I've had a few characters which their initial costume was perfect from the gitgo. However all but one of those characters were generate using the Random button or were based on of the custom presets in the creator. I made a few tweaks and they were done. I've had precisely one character whom I've delibertly created and his costume held up over time. That was my Willpower/Stone Melee tanker. I started with the power sets and spent almost a month trying to think of a name that would encompass both power sets. I found the perfect name in "Mountainheart". And then I wanted to base his costume around a kilt. I found up with a tall maxed out Physique male bear chested male wearing the kick using the leather wraps for gloves and footwear. And I played around with skin and face patterns and wound up with Braveheart blue warpaint. The character literally built himself from my subconscious. He's level 50 now and still haven't bothered creating costumes on any of his other slots.

    Hurdle, Yum!

Hurdle for Dwarf will be a big boost. The enhanced jumping of Dwarf Form is actually a weaken Combat Jumping w/o the DEF buffs.

    10 Dwarves a' leaping.

The main problem is trying to merge two different economies. The amount of Influence Blue Side greatly exceeds the amount of Infamy Red Side. The buying power disparity is huge and not easily overcome. Especially since people play on Blue Side a lot more than Red Side. Side switching may help in that regard or make things worse. That's a big known at the moment.

Don't get me wrong. I'd love for the markets to be merged. It would make getting the Rare sets and Uniques a lot easier.

The devs try to cater to everyone but it's an impossibility. It's a balancing act the devs has to navigate. They need to run the event long enough to allow the casual players to get in enough play time for the zone events. But players who can play a lot more, they get in the event play time, and then they want it over with.

And then there are players like me who went on 2 week vacation (Herocon) as the event started. I'm thankful they are extended it another week as I was recovered from my vacation over the week-end. I really didn't want to do much except veg.

You are looking at it wrong. There is no preside being set here. It's not a reward they gave the player population for winning some type of contest. It's a corporation looking to hire a talented writer for a game designer position they had open. AE gave them a line on a person which could possibly a good fit for the job. No different from getting leads from a headhunter or a referral from an employee.

  20. I haven't seem these titbits mention prominently on the boards. So her they are in their own thread.

First is Inspiration trading across alignments

Second is that The last 10% of foes will have markers on the mini-map for Defeat All missions.

And third is The last 10% of clickies will have markers on the mini-map.

Not everything about Going Rogue has been revealed. There is more stuff that will be announced next year. Among which probably will be the "level 50s getting uberer" system hinted by Positron earlier this year.
  22. My remaining photos will be posted after I get back home. I'm still on the road (in search of big, big, REALLY BIG trees), and getting a decent 'Net (free) connection is hard to find.

I also went dev stalking (gotta catch 'em all). And I think I got them all. I'll have a Visual Guide to the Devs album. So people can put a face (and name) to the Red Names.

And I'm anxious to find out John Hegner's red name. He mention something about us ruing the day we learn his Red Name. (Johns a writer. He's the main writer of most of the Praetoria stuff in Going Rogue)
  23. I still have lots of photos to upload. But I need time to get them organized better. I will probably be when I get back home. Probably this week-end or early next week.

They mentioned in one the panels about looking to add rewards for characters who remain true to their original alignment.
