  1. A smattering of anything we've been doing as a duo. Paper missions (level 40 Arachnos last night. Let me tell you that 3x lts. + the minions or boss was not fun). Trick or treating. Normal missions.

    It does seem to be mostly duos. I'd hope it doesn't have anything to do with vet vs. newbie. I know it doesn't have anything to do with level.

    Trick or Treating and getting bosses+lts. on a duo at level 7 absolutely sucked.
  2. Old heroic settings. +0/x1. Both of us.

    Trust me, the spawns we've been running into should not be duos. And no, they aren't overlapping spawns either. It's been this way for about six to eight weeks.

    It's been brutal for my friend (new player) and I (crusty old Vet).
  3. So has anyone heard a confirmation that the developers know of the spawn bugs?

    A +1 boss and 6 +1 minions (arachnos) is a little crazy on a duo. Or the 4 Lts. and 4 minions in a spawn.

    Or are we just supposed to suck it up and keep fighting the mobs until we beat them through stubborness?

    I'm tempted to just take a break for a few months and hope they fix things. Because this isn't fun.

    Not quite true. There are a lot of combination at the higher level that are absolute bears to level with quite a bit of content.

    My Psi/Psi Blaster basically gave up regular content and I had to AE specific mobs to not run into super Psi resistant mobs and robots constantly.

    There's more have-nots than you would think.

    The thing that I'm getting from the developers is that these super-annoying mobs is that they are 'working as intended.'

    And that's sad, because it means unless you've picked the right AT-combo, having fun is secondary to challenge.

    IOW, haves and have nots yet again.
  8. Yeah, I'd posted this a while back when my low level duo I was on with ran into a boss, 2xlts and 4 minions in one spawn.

    We were basically team-wiping every other spawn.

    Lovely 'heroic' settings at 7th level, Devs.

    They are not as self-contained and they are pretty close to being forced to get and use the forms (as say compared to VEATs that get two potentially useful and different builds.)

    In fact, if they ever fixed the bug where if either of your builds has the crab-legs on your back and you are stuck with them in either build, I'd probably have a crab build and a mace build.

    But Kheldians are punished for not stepping on their forms bailiwicks by still having a totally broken mezz-protection in human-form, instead of them coming up with something like Dwarf form get's a +2.5% DEF buff per +10% RES buff. Or a +10% healing power buff per +RES buff.

    But since giving human-form 'competent' mezz-protection would negate the need for Dwarf, they basically said 'never'.

    So their jack-of-all trades actually isn't.

    You can't scrap on a Kheldian if there's any reasonable amount of Mezz in your foes.
  10. I'm actually glad that BABs gave us some 'real' reasons, but I do have to say that these really are things that should be done as it will help remove limits.

    Like forms. That is not strictly a Kheldian issue. Stoners (hah!) should be allowed to customize their forms and so should Kheldians, even if it is just tinting it based on the activation form.

    Considering you are looking at customizing power pools, Ancillary and 'maybe' Patron Pools, those inherent powers should be able to be fit into that programing schema too.

    I'd rather hear 'We are still working on it, but it is going to take a long while' than 'sorry, too much work to let every powerset be equally customizable.'
  11. Will we see custom characters scale better at the lower end (Training Origin and Dual Origin Enhancements levels) so that you players can enjoy an AE arc from like level 5 to 50?
  12. It would be a great improvement if instead of the Vet Reward granting you four (or so) additional walks, that it unlocked the ability to 'customize' your normal walk with the four nice additional VFX types.

    I pretty much do not pick them these days just because it clutters up my inherent powers worse.

    Hey, Castle, how the idea of Wuxia being a toggle that give you no bonus movement or leap, but has all the same animation without an End Cost? Because I'd *love* to be able to be in that 'combat stance' all the time and it's too expensive a toggle to do it normally.

    I do believe they mentioned more packs for the origins after all five are done (Ie. things like Super Pack VI "Science II" as a possibility.)

    I believe they mentioned the problem with sheaths on your back is the fact that weapons that you use are actually in your hand all the time, but invisible.

    I hope they figure something out for that. Even if it is just plunking two copies of your weapon. One in your hand and one on your back. And depending on your 'weapon visible' bit, the one on the back appears or disappears.

    Hostage/rescue AI has always been a bit wonky. Different AI patches may help. Generally the thing I've seen is they take off at MACH 5 after spamming you with the text your write.

    This one has to do with checking the map you are planning on using. Not all maps actually really have a 'back' area. Especially if you are doing random maps within a context.

    Verify closely that your map actually has enough 'back' spawn points for your glowies and bosses.

    That might have been to keep the size of the missions down.
  20. 'Ghostly' Transparent versions of the current pistols for the Force/Fire/Cold/Toxic-Poison ammo types. That way you could have either a 'manifested' mutant power of pistols or magic-etheral guns.
  21. Babs, while I have great respect for you, I think you are off on this one.

    If we weren't to be allowed to 'stand out' in Arachnos as our VEATs, then we shouldn't also be allowed to have our own special uniforms.

    We should be able to stand out from the Rank and File of Arachnos, proving we are 'better' than they are.

    And with HEATs, I feel that there is easily enough feel for 'color tintable' versions of the powers so that we can look *similar* to others, but also stand out as our own heroes.

    This is bad forced role play.
  22. That's the thing. It's randomly appearing in any duo spawns.

    Sometimes you'll have nearly normal, other times you have either member of the duo dying or even team wipes.

    Low level character just can't survive that.
  23. Umm.... so you think 1 boss *AND* 2 lts *AND* 4 minions is a normal spawn for a 7th level duo on +0/+0?
  24. So has anyone else been running into brutal spawns on +0/x0 Duo Spawns?

    I've personally seen 1 boss, 2 lt.s and 4 minions from ToT and in missions on duos.
  25. Actually, I have the Fitness Hurdle and Swift. I've actually found that I can overslot Hurdle, actually. I'm a bit too bouncy with two jump enhancements in it, IIRC.

    I'm not actually too fast, but I can get around fine without any travel powers if I needed to.

    I use this in combat to keep up (vaguely) with everyone I'm speed boosting.

    I didn't get Syphon Speed until I needed to slow down bosses greatly. So technically, I have two forms of maxed our super-running.

    I feel like a pinball so often. Especially in caves.
