  1. It seems lately that when I have been exiting Cimerora via the Crystal, I will get stuck in the Crystal inside the Midnighters Club for about 10 seconds or so. I know if you type /stuck that it will sometimes pop you out of glitched situations. I normally would just wait for the 10 seconds before I can move. Anyone else experience this?
  2. This morning I was on for a short while before I had to go to work. While in Grandville, I noticed another MM who had their three Battle Drones named Larry, Curly and Moe, the exact same as mine. This got me thinking, how many other MM out there are using these three names?

To be honest, I kind of felt weird when I saw it then after further review, I realized that because the Battle Drones are based on a group of "3", and sometimes act like clowns, constantly bumping into each other, that the law of averages says that others most likely will come up with the same threesome. You know, like Stooges..hehe. I named them that way based on their personalities and acting like clowns. My 2 Protector Bots are named Doc Brown (Back to the Future Movie) and Dr. Roboto (From the song Mr. Roboto) with my big guy Assault Bot named T-1000 (From the Terminator Movie).

So, just curious, what other names have you guys given your MM Bots?

Pool A are dropped from NPC defeats, on a chance. Thus, the more mobs you defeat, the more chances at a Pool A, which in turn mean more chances at a Purple.

Actual level does not change any drop chances. So the decision to play at -1 (and mow down mobs a bit faster) and +0 is based on, usually, the fact that most people would rather get that extra .1% on their enhancement values, and pay way more for level 50 recipes in a set than 49s.

So if going for purples only, I'd say -1. Money, +0.

As to bosses - as posted above, bosses have a nearly 8% chance to drop a Pool A of any kind, while Lts are about 5%, and minions lower. But bosses have more HP, thus if you take twice as long defeating a boss compared to a LT, most would recommend you go "No bosses".
Okay, that answer makes better sense than the typical "it's random" answer. Thanks for that. I might just bump it up to +0 for the 50's to sell at market while hunting for more purples.

I too also run my level 50 MM Bots/Traps at -1/+8 though I am not as lucky as you on 1 purple per game session. I recently posted a thread in Markets and Inventions titled "My Second Purple". Yes, that's right, only two purples in the past month and a half. Now, I have not been playing my MM at full-bore as I have other toons that I am working on. I do agree though that a large majority of drops are more 49's versus 50's being that I am running a -1 versus +0 or +1.

To be honest, I have tried the +0 and +1, I have found it to be much more difficult to clear a group without getting slaughtered. If I need to raise my level up to +0 to give me a better percentage to get purples, then that's what I need to do. But, it seems based on what wiki says and from what I read in some of these posts, to get a purple is more of a random thing based on how many kills you average. The level of the foe should have no baring on this. Though, I am still a bit confused because as the original poster of this thread stated, there are different answers to this question and having something that is more concrete would be wonderful in knowing the best possible odds at getting more purples.
  5. Since the collision issue was somewhat fixed awhile ago with the Bots constantly getting stuck behind those Battle Drones, I really don't have too much of an issue with these guys. The majority of the time I will keep them on "Defensive Follow". This allows me and them to share some of the damage proportionately. I rarely use the "Aggressive Attack" mode unless I want to clear an area that I don't want to be in.

With that being said, yes, I do find that sometimes my Bots will run off on their own and start aggroing other groups. This sucks when you're going +1/+8 on solo, then you're getting double the dose on your behind! This only really is a problem when some groups are close together and you have no choice but to fight your way through them. I kind of look at it like owning dogs. Let's say you have five dogs. You decide to bring them to the park and throw a Frisbee around. When you get to the park you read a sign that says "keep all dogs on a leash". So, that's what you do, you put all of them on "Defensive Follow" and hope that none of them try to run off...hehee.

    My Second Purple

I originally had a post in the Market & Inventions section titled "My First Purple". Ahem,...well, after about a month plus of playing my level 50 MM Bots/Traps at -1/+8 off and on, I was able to get my "second" purple as of this morning. Normally, when I play my MM, I usually maybe run about 4 or 5 mish'es before I get bored with her and switch to another Toon that I may be working on developing. Needless to say, when I opened up my Inventions tab and saw that nice shiny shade of purple, it was almost like the feeling you get when you were younger, opening up Christmas Presents under the tree and you get that certain kind of rush of excitement.

Maybe that's why the dev's make them so rare. So we will appreciate them more when we get them...hehe.

This is what I have been doing the past month or so with my level 50 Bots/Traps. Though, I've been doing the -1/+8 not +1/+8. Regardless, its a nice feeling to know when you plop down your triage beacon, dump all your traps around you, then fire off a pulse riffle burst to get things going, the word "chaos" here would be an understatement..hehe. Keeping myself busy with my Pulse Rifle Blast and Pulse Rifle Burst, keeps me occupied and not get board while my traps come back up. The only group I really have a problem with is the Malta Operatives. For some reason, their stuns, Sappers, and Zeus Class Titans, can give my Bots some trouble. So, in a nutshell, you need to keep yourself busy while your traps recharge. That's why I picked up the rifles and got them fully slotted to feel like I'm contributing with my Bots.

Have they even said why that one doesn't work when the selection screen button works fine? That's just silly.
"Clap" "Clap" "Clap" Clap". Yes, much agreed. There should be no reason on God's green earth that that particular button still doesn't work. Maybe they (the dev's) just need to take someone off of another project for a day and say "okay Betty or Jerry, your job is to fix this button and do nothing else." "We don't want you to help out with the environmental graphics, help out with any character rendering and by all means, stay away from the Going Rogue group as they are waaay to busy to deal with that damn button." Hehee, yes, I think it is time we get that button fixed for us paying members. If you can't fix it then just remove it then and not let us make fools of ourselves every time we click on it.
  9. I thought about this one this morning before I got out of bed. Being that it seems the "Check to see if name is already used" button doesn't seem to work (at least it never works for me when I am building a new Toon), I thought about maybe having some kind of access to a "scrolling" type view, like in the Markets, to see what names are already in use.

For example: let's say I wanted to name my Hero or Villain Pyrotechnic as they are Fire based on their primary power sets. I would then go to the search tab to see if that name is taken under the "P's" and then immediately see that it is taken before I hit the "enter" button to go into the training zone or active new Toon zone. I know there are some of you how would say this would take up way too much processing power to do this. Well, what about in game when you do a search for others by their Archetypes or Level. This would be based on a similar function but bigger since it would have to do a system wide search for "all" Toons.

Now, if the dev's ever fix that button that says "check to see if name in use" then we could probably rule out this option. But, it seems since I've been a member (15 months) and from what others have said, that button has not worked for a long time. Maybe they will fix it on the big upgrades through GR or others, who knows?
  10. So the past few weeks as I am working on getting purples with my level 50 MM Bots/Traps running mish'es at -1/+8. I have been noticing that last couple of times when I am doing Newspaper Mish'es in Grandville and then get the invite from Wiggy the Brit to do a bank robbery, that when I complete the mish (meaning I got the money) I normally will either wait next to the safe for the Hero to come or maybe even venture down the elevator to bottom floor and wait their but mostly, I will always wait next to the safe.

Well, the past few times I've ran this mish, it seems the Hero never showed up. I would eventually head to the lower floor and still no Hero. It seems weird that I have to go out and "find" this Hero versus them coming to me. So on the last Bank Heist I did, I did all the other task as I couldn't find the Hero nor did they come to meet me. My time was running out and I had about 30 seconds left then the Hero showed up. Needless to say, it was too late to take him out in 15 seconds so I failed that mish.

So, has anyone else ran into this issue? For giggles I did run this at the normal levels +4/+1 to see if maybe it had something to do with me going solo at -1/+8. Nope, the Hero still never showed up near the safe after I stole the cash. I really don't mind doing those bank mish'es but if that Hero never shows up, what are we supposed to do? Anyone else experience this?
  11. It is funny to see how much use the dev's can actually get from one office layout. Some mish'es you enter from another door, but it's the same layout. They may have you start out on the 5th floor instead of the 1st floor to change things up a bit, but it's still the same layout. I would have to agree that if I ever did get bored with this game, it would be the monotony of the environment. Maybe i17 Dark Mirror will add a tiny bit of shine to what we already see. Then of course, like most things in life, I think people become bored very quickly if you don't give them some kind of variety within the game.
  12. I've always wondered about this one. Currently, my level 32 Dual/Elec Blaster has a "Cowboy" type theme to them. Thus, she is wearing a cowboy hat to fit her gunslinger mentality. With that cowboy hat, I think you only get the one style for women, the ponytail type hairdo.

It would seem that certain hats are linked/tied to only certain hairdos. Now, I do know that some hairdos can be too outrageous to fit a hat on right, but because hats and hair are considered "stationary" objects, which means they cannot move, why not have the ability to have more styles with hats? Is it because no other hairdos will work with certain hats and thus the dev's wanted to make it simpler on the coding and decided to only go with one style of hairdo for each hat?

I need some help on this one for anyone who can tell me why this might be the case? If no one can give me a logical reason for this, then I would say lets make this a future option down the road.
  13. I thought about this one when I picked up Lightning Field for my Dual/Elec Blaster. I have never really noticed how annoying that "crackling" sound can be when my Lightning Field is activated. I normally run my Volume at max 100% on all my powers to get the full effect of the game. When you go to the "Options" menu, you only have the ability to turn down volume on "all" your powers Special Effects at once, which I don't want to do.

You can see the dilemma here. I pretty much can tolerate 99% of the Sound Effects for my powers but for the one that can be annoying such as Lightning Field, why not have a slide bar that allows you to adjust each powers Special Effect Volume "individually" instead of all of them turned down (which would suck) or just leave them all maxed out at 100% and suffer with just that one annoying power that gnaws at your inner ear canal..lol.

If this is not an option, then I would suggest to just change or modify that Sound Effect for Lightning Field altogether. As annoying as it is, I cannot believe someone in development hasn't made that suggestion prior. I know I cannot be the only one who finds this sound annoying. What do you guys think about this idea?

  15. So, out of my 10 Toons, I probably have 7 of them with Combat Jumping. The ones with stealth either have that as a primary or I decided to stick with stealth and invis. To be honest, I keep trying to justify taking stealth or invis "over" combat jumping. This is only if you "had" to pick one or the other. This does not pertain to having both power sets. I find there are some good benefits with having stealth, invis or superior invis like being able to sneak to the blinky at the end of a mish or go right to the big baddie without having to slug your way through trenches of mobs. I also find that having Combat Jumping with the bonus to defense it gives you can also be very helpful and beneficial.

In the end, I normally always lean towards Combat Jumping because it seems to give me more overall defense versus having some stealth which makes it harder for enemies to make good contact with you but I am not sure or convinced that it is better on the defensive side. I need someone out there to prove me wrong and say, take stealth, invis and/or superior invis and fully slot out and it will be much better than a fully slotted Combat Jumping. Show me the raw numbers on what defense it will give me to help me understand why I should take Stealth, Invis or Superior Invis "over" Combat Jumping. Then maybe I can see the errors of my way of thinking.
  16. Well, ahem....I'm still working on my "second" purple. Now I have not been playing my MM since the last post religiously as the past few weeks I've been working on my Dual/Elec Blaster, but I have been playing my MM now and then. Last night, I was running a bunch of mish'es with Borea in the RWZ. You know, those "prove yourself" mish'es that she has you run over and over again. I have been running these mish'es at -1/+8 on the diff setting. As stated earlier in these posts, it shouldn't really matter if I am doing +0/+8 or -1/+8 right?

I know, I know, call me impatient because we all know this is pretty much a random event. Of course you would think the odd's will eventually fall in my favor after fighting all these +8 groups. So, just to clarify once again as I am not doubting those who say -1/+8 or +0/+8 will make no difference in how fast or having better odds in getting rare purples? I really don't think the higher the foe the greater chance of them dropping purples right? I just need some extra confirmation on this. I know it can be hard to predict since this is a "random" event but still there has to be a way to stack the odds in our favor more?

    Ambushed!

So I'm just minding my own business as I was in the Mutant Store in Talos buying some enhancements when "BAM" all of a sudden, two Tuatha de Dannan snuck up behind me and dropped me dead. Needless to say, this completely caught me off guard as I was all relaxed and had my enhancement screen up so I never saw them coming.

I did have a mish up that was in Croatoa to defeat 10 Tuatha de Dannan's. I know that normally when you get a "Defeat 10 or more So and So" type mish, you might get some immediate spawned ambushes regardless of what zone you are in. But, ahemm,..this is the first time I was ever ambushed "inside" a store...hehee. I was able to get a snap shot before this last one fell to the ground, thanks to the other hero standing next to me as my dead carcass lay strewn across the floor..lol. Anyone else ever have this happen to them? I'm thinking it was some kind of glitch on the spawn but who knows, I've never had a foe spawn inside a store before.

Hehee, kind of reminds me of those junk emails you get from someone in Nigeria saying that you just inherited a million dollars and all you need to do to get that money is send them $300 in a money order to Address - - - - - - - - . Most of those emails have bad grammar also. As others have said, if it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't legit. The fact that they used legit emails or links doesn't mean much. They could have it set-up to forward to another address if you clicked on that link in the email.

Nope. This would happen anywhere, in any zone and not around others with TP devices. Now the weird thing is when it does happen, it's as if the special effect that takes place with your hands being lit up with those shards of light will tucker out. Meaning, the special effect would not completely finish before it would die out. My Wentworth Day Trader TP will still say 1 use left as if it was never used, which it wasn't. So, that's a good thing. . Sometimes I am in the air, floating when I use it so not sure if this might be something that is causing this being that I am having another effect going off such as flight?

Keep in mind, this does not happen all the time. Maybe 1 out of 10 times when I use it and I have only noticed it on my Wentworth's Day Trader TP, not Ouroboros or other TP devices. I'm thinking it could be from a past patch but who knows? It really hasn't been that big of a problem but I was just inquiring to see if anyone else noticed this.
  20. I have been experiencing some issues with my Wentworth's Day Trader Teleport. Sometimes when I click on it and my Toon goes through all the necessary special effects, my pop-up comes up to give me the locations to teleport to then disappears immediately before I can even click on anything. This doesn't happen all the time but more so than lately. The frustrating thing is when this happens, I have to wait until my Teleport comes back up to use it again. Thus, I either have to use my Ouroboros or the old fashioned train method to get where I need to.

Anyone else notice this issue? As I mentioned above, since I've been on CoX as of Jan. 09' I have not had any issues with this before so I am not sure if it's from a recent upgrade or patch that may be causing this?
  21. I'm still working on this one. I did have one of my ten toons get a rare purple and sell it for $400 Million in influence at the market which left them with over $500 Million. I then proceeded to spend influence like a drunken sailor and buy some nice enhancements.

With that being said, people mention this "cap" thing. What exactly is the cap? Is it a certain amount that each toon is allowed to have at one time,.e.g. $2 Billion for example? And if this is the case, why is there a cap and why is it set at a certain number? I really cannot see anything negative as to why the dev's wouldn't make the cap size larger or maybe even unlimited.
  22. So I just rolled another new toon about a week ago. A Dual/Elec Blaster. Having some fun so far with her and watching the new effects with the Dual Pistols. Anyways, normally when I start with a new Toon, I don't really pay attention to my difficulty settings until I get in the higher levels, maybe after level 22 when you are able to get the beefier enhancements.

I ended up getting a mish that had me go against an EB. I knew I couldn't take him solo so I was going to drop my diff settings for better results. To my surprise (and I have never noticed this before) my difficulty settings where +0/+0. I had to scratch my head as I know there is not a +0 for number of heros or villains you are equal to. Normally it will show +0/+1 since the drop down won't give you a +0.

With that being said, does the diff settings automatically default you on +0/+0 for number of heros or villains you are equal to since your Toon would be too weak in the get-go?

"Registered" or "created" makes a lot more sense. Hell, a huge number of the characters people make should have decades of existence prior to the creation in game, so "born" only really makes sense for clones, certain types of androids, some alien species, and byproducts of one of Zeus' headaches.
I like born because think about it, when you work on a toon for more than a year or longer, feed it stuff to grow and become all they can be, heck, it's just like having a kid...lol.

Yes, even adding the text along with the current toons info such as "level" type of toon, how many days offline,..etc...it would not be that hard to do this. Just simple stuff so as not to get too cluttered with text.
