Umm...yeah...GG said "4-leg rig"

Interesting so far. Apparently Tygra is Lion-o's illigitamate or adopted brother, Kat and Kit are street urchins and best of all, Snarf is *just* a cat...no whining from him!

Quote:Dear people in this thread and on this forum: please stop with the "EVERYONE thinks this way" posts.
I don't agree with the anti-redesign sentiment. I like the changes and feel the current CoT on live servers are boring and outdated. I don't like doing a Treespec and seeing a room full of a few dozen bad Jawa impersonators who couldn't be less threatening to me if they had a baby bonnet on.
The new Circle of Thorns, to me, actually symbolizes something the current CoT mages do not: Thorns. They are the source of power and yet for the most part they simply are not present to me.
Now those who want to shoehorn everyone into their own feedback: notice my use of possessive pronouns. I didn't say "Everyone," I said "I." This isn't a hive mind and we certainly don't all share your or my opinion, so please post to reflect that.
I've been reading both of these threads, and I'm fairly certain that the majority that reference "forum opinion" use terms like "most" and "majority"....I can't remember any saying "everyone shares this opinion" or other phrases that would indicate the writer believes that, well, everyone shares this opinion. -
Quote:Hm...I thought that line was plenty clear in context. Of course they can do whatever they want, that's so obvious that it doesn't even need to be stated. The "..." was referencing something I said just a line above it..."and expect people to recognize the result as the CoT". I didn't explicitly restate it because I though it looked redundant when I actually re-read it.Yes they can. It's their IP; they can do anything they want to it, and for any reason (assuming that NCSoft doesn't mind, and I'm fairly sure that revamping the look of an old NPC group is something the home office doesn't care about). Really, there doesn't even need to be justification for said changes aside fro "We wanted to do it".

Quote:The images that players are basing their judgments on are pictures of a screen from SDCC. This is both good and bad:
- It's good because it's allowed us to get some unsolicited feedback upon which to act, and we are acting on it.
- It's bad because we were unable to present this revamp on our own terms using appropriate screenshots and in game images.

Good to know Z, but you could have delivered 3d lifesize hologram projectors to peoples' houses to show them off, and would likely have gotten the same response. CoT = faceless, hooded minions, green glowing eyes and robes in the eyes of most players, and you can't take those iconic elements away and expect people to recognize the result as the CoT...not after 7 years of beating on them from lvl 1 thru 50.
Add stuff, sure...new mob types, new faction, Praetorian versions, go nuts...but you can't remove *all* of the core elements of the groups look... -
My bet would be the character designs....the quasi-chibi art direction of SHS is like a subliminal "shut off critical fanboy brain" switch, while Bats still looks too much like real Bats...

And honestly, the main reason "spandex" was so prevalent as the superhero uniform in comic's early days was simply because *it was easy to draw*. You've gotta draw the same character in dozens of panels a month and do it in 4-color separation, the easiest thing to do is draw a nude with some extra lines to show where the "outfit" is.

The point I made still seems to be overlooked. "More variations of tights!" isn't the kind of thing that has the visual wow factor needed to turn heads (of people not already playing, at least) at an event like Comic Con. If I was doing the marketing, even the addition of 100 new tights patterns/variations would only merit a "below the fold" ("after the jump", for you raised on the 'net young 'uns) mention on any press materials about the new issue. Especially considering how much there is coming to the table with Issue 21

Quote:The movie is still being made, and Hulk is basically a CGI creation. They probably haven't finished him yet.
These aren't photos, though....they're concept art. Not having the finished movie version of Hulk shouldn't preclude them from releasing one of these of him. -
Quote:Tony's like an awards show host...changes his outfit every time he leaves the screenNo Hulk poster?
There was no Hulk in the Avenger's trailer I saw either. My friend insists he glimpsed Bruce Banner. Why keep the Hulk under wraps?
Also, Tony is back to the circular chest power pack?
haven't come across a Hulk one yet, no -
Dinna see it yet...stuck on call till next week...
I think my favorite bit in these posters is Coulson trying to look like a badass in Fury's poster. -
Ok...I think that is the Helicarrier in Hawkeye's poster...cuz here it is again in Nick Fury's
oh, here's Thor, too

Quote:Waaaaaiit a tic this show actually has continuity ???? I thought this was a show based off toys that had decent tounge in cheek humor and wanted to showcase many of the underdog marvel charactors alongside the more mainstream ones, so that they could expand the toylines with more interesting charactor toys? No im actually not knocking this show. I just realize that this is the boys version of my little ponies, without all the meme's the other show has thrown in
Well, the show itself is serialized. There are plotlines that carry over from show to show, but I meant in the sense that there's almost no connection between the SHS characters and the comic characters that they're intended to spark an interest in...
Like say, the differences between the Fox Xmen movies and the comics. Those bug the hell out of me. -
How much more can they do with spandex though, really? They have a ton of patterns, and honestly, "Hey! check out these new tights patterns!" isn't exactly ComicCon reveal type material...hell,I wouldn't even mention them specifically until the bottom of the page on CoH.com promos if there were new ones (which there may well be) The system isn't set up to handle asymmetry so...what else could they do with spandex?
-
Ok...obviously meant for children (mostly....some stuff over their heads), but I can quite honestly say I *never* thought I'd see Beta Ray Bill and The Stranger outside of comics.
and the complete murdering of continuity isn't bothering me at all....probably because it seems the show was written by 12 yr old version of Deadpool -
No...That one will have no Lego connection, and won't focus much on the known characters. This is just a one-off special, done like one of the Lego games' cutscenes, but with voice work.

Watching this right now on Cartoon Network. It's had me laughing out loud, literally, pretty much from the start
It's not the Video Game...don't mod me, bro
