This is assuming that such a thing would even be feasible. But if so, it should be done like that. No unnecessary delays in releasing it, but getting the option for more pets in the not too distant future.
I don't think "add more later" is ever off the table.

Story content that explains why we should care about who these villains are. Right now there's not much to elicit other than a yawn since it's the same stuff we've seen with the Rikti, with Rularuu, with Axis Amerika, etc...
That's kinda what bad guys do when they're at that level of power. Invade and conquer/destroy places. Then heroes stop em. The reason heroes care who the villains are (in any story) is because they're attempting to change the heroes' status quo through violence. If the Praetorians stayed in their home dimension, we likely *wouldn't* care about them at all.
  5. I'd agree with Agonus. Just on iconography (no pun intended ) alone, Punisher, and to a slightly lesser extent, Venom are instantly recognizable outside of the comic shops.

As far as Deadpool...he's in the TV spots for the new Marvel vs. Capcom game. There's 20 characters on each side in that game, and he's getting screen time over the likes of Dr. Doom, Phoenix, She-Hulk and Storm. He may not hit icon status, but he's getting the "known outside of comics" bit down....probably because he knows there's such a thing as outside of comics

Just a quick aside, there's a *very* popular game franchise about a certain order of knights involved with the Crusades and the secret order opposing them in the near future that is entirely based around this very concept. Both sides have a machine that will allow it's user to relive the memories of their ancestors by reading their DNA.

Not as out there an idea as some people seem to think.

    Drive Angry 3D

Atmospheric 3D merely serves to give the illusion of depth between the background and the characters on screen. Examples include Avatar, The Green Hornet, and The Last Airbender. In many of these movies, the 3D effect is added in post-production, seemingly as an afterthought. Brad argues that atmospheric 3D is a waste of the effect, being either pretentious in the case of James Cameron's movies--or just a way to ripoff moviegoers with higher ticket prices.

Gimmicky 3D, Brad argues on the other hand, is the proper use of 3D. Gimmicky 3D doesn't just give the illusion of depth, it gives the illusion that objects (e.g., bullets, knives, blood, etc.) are leaping off the movie screen and right at the audience's faces, adding to the fun of the movie experience. Examples of this include Drive Angry 3D, My Bloody Valentine, and Piranha 3D.

Here is Brad Jones' review: http://thecinemasnob.com/2011/02/26/...-d-review.aspx

Hmm...can't say I exactly agree with that assessment. Avatar was atmospheric (mostly...some stuff did pop at ya) but didn't come off as pretentious in the film itself. The hype, maybe, but that's marketing for ya. I saw it both 3D and at home, and the 3d definitely was missed at home. The use of the effect was such that it almost felt as if you were in the scenes, not just a diorama-type effect like post production often ends up with. I think it's a bit unfair to lump it in with those other 2, as Avatar (like Drive Angry) was shot in 3d.

No, but my point was that you, in your hypothetical example, pointed to a black woman as being outside the norm. No other details about her, just black and a female. It's that attitude that explains why being white isn't generally seen as a defining character trait.

See that bold bit right there? You just answered your own question from your other post. In America, being white isn't generally seen as a defining trait because it's long been considered "the norm".

edit Also, what Smersh just said.

I doubt Watson can yet pass a Turing test, at least one where the questioner can ask anything they want. As yet, AFAIK, Watson doesn't have any kind of "internal life" so it would not respond well to questions about thoughts, opinions, feelings and the like. It can answer knowledge-based questions all day long (as long as they're not about U.S. cities and their airports, apparently) but it doesn't "think about" what it's answering.

And yes, there are AI prototypes that do the above, although still not at human level cognition.
Ray Kurzweil figures we'll have that (reversed engineered the human brain and built human level AI) by the mid 2020s. Was the Time magazine cover story last week.

If it is not, then consciousness in an organic brain is only the result of natural processes, meaning the brain is nothing but a computer that runs on carbon chemistry instead of semiconductors. That does not necessarily mean that it is inevitable that we will learn how to emulate it but if we do it would be nothing but bigotry to deny the resultant consciousness all the rights we afford each other.
Pretty much the cover story of this week's Time. Ray Kurzweil figures (due to the exponential nature of advances in the relevant tech) we will have reverse-engineered the human brain by the mid 2020's. Human level intelligence in computers by the end of that decade. By 2045, the quantity of AI created will be about 1 billion times the sum of all human intelligence that exists today.

Oh, and we'll be functionally immortal.

One would immediately figure solo defenders (or even corruptors) would fare similarily (depending on powerset). (this is probably offset by the fact that defenders, by and large, do not solo unlike blasters)
I remember when they said that... they're talking per capita, not just raw numbers of defeats.

And defenders and corrs each have an entire powerset dedicated to buff/debuff. It's enough to keep them up more consistently. Blasters just get more damage 'cept for those /dev weirdos
  18. This is why I think everyone should level a blaster. The game's not quite as easy as some of those raised on melee seem to think.

Also, I don't think I've seen a full insp tray on my blaster while solo in 6 years

Ok, so when you play content that is supposed to be harder (TFs) you deliberately make it easier? Ok you know what, that makes absolutely no sense.
Sure it does. On a TF you have the other 7 people to think about. EG may love the hard stuff, but there's other people who may not.

Relax. It was just test animation, not finished product, and they axed the project.

And it's pretty apparent what age every one else is supposed to be just by looking at them (with the exception of Supes, of course) Spee...uh Red Arrow and Aqualad are late teens, Robin's early teens, everyone else is in between there.
Don't know much (anything) about Green Arrow's comic history so if Cheshire's old enough there to have a teen daughter, this is just someone using her appearance, or a complete rewrite.
