Hell, they could even had us organize the trials, as if our characters decided on their own volition to organize themselves into several teams and go over to the other side to take on the praetorians; I mean, we even just appear outside Lambda and the BAFT, no group drops us off. the voice-over could just have been the omnipresent narrator.
He's not really a new character. Prometheus appeared in the Top Cow run of the CoH comics. The FP needed his help, he dinna want to help on account of Statesman being sorta the guy that chained him to a mountain with a vulture ripping out his liver every day for eternity...so Manti "killed" States to convince Prometheus to help them.

They're not going to rebalance the base game around IOs, much less the endgame abilities. Ergo, the common endgame abilities are by their mere existance "powerful enough" for someone that's not going to be doing the trials. You add them to a SO build, with the Alpha level shift and you will murdalize non-Trial content.
  3. Probably because lousy meat-sacks tried to tell a machine what to do.
  4. That is the suck, but I'd guess it's because leagues aren't coded to be "sticky" the way a TF team is. Bummer
  5. Gotta agree with you there Arcana. All the runs I've done have been turnstile. Most of the BAF's have been a success, Lambda's are running about 50/50, due mostly to co-ordination issues in the sabotage stage. Not getting enough acids, which leads to too many adds spawning, then someone would aggo them while collecting more acid etc etc.

But, each run through, more new (to the trials) people are seeing how the trials work and that knowledge of what went wrong and what needs to happen to avoid it is *rapidly* spreading through Virtue...to the point that I don't think it will be long at all before even complete PuG trials will mostly be successful.

I double checked...you're right. But that said, you can do some fairly light colors on Void
  7. Not in the trailer for some reason, but he's in the show.
  8. He also says he has lots of contacts that he won't reveal to us. Who knows who those contacts are *or* who those contacts actually think they're reporting to. Appearing as something other than their normal form is SOP for members of the Greek pantheons.

hmm...i could be mistaken...thought i clicked thru 1 power from each set..may have been clickin from one set when i thought i was in another
  10. Nice thing about the color tint interface on the Judgement powers...get one power, and you can see what *all* of them look like. Every single Judgement power.. core, radial, partial revamp, total revamp, final, for all 4 trees are in the tailor menu once you get one.....and that means if you're not careful you can end up getting charged for changes to powers you don't even have

And they all have color tintable, dark and bright themes. 3 themes apiece.

I wished, from the beginning, that they were in NPC chat, or another capturable chat category so I could read them in a tab.

Then I tried running a BAF while on my laptop, which is a lower resolution than my main gaming system, and about half of each box was obscured by the UI. With possible success-necessary instructions in them, I was stymied by the lack of a way to recap/re-read this information.

Could we please have a way to put this stuff in a chat tab?

There is...there's what look likes a blank line (at least when I did this it was a blank line) in the add channels list...that's the radio chat

Heh, i normally dislike analogies but that just popped in my head.
Except that in my version, the firemen are already working on putting out the fire....much like the devs are already working on new content.

Are you saying there *aren't* a lot of posts complaining about the fact that there are only 2 trials currently? Feedback is one thing, but complaining about something that is known to be a temporary situation isn't exactly useful.

    "The house is on fire!"
"Yes, we know, that's why we firemen are here, with these pump trucks and hoses."

Clearly they are building up the Incarnate system over multiple Issues. It's quite likely that the current state of the game, where we arguably have an Incarnate content bottleneck, is only going to exist until the next brick in the Incarnate building is laid. I simply suspect we will eventually have more ways to get Threads than we do now.

We just have to be content with the "unfinished" game until Issue 20.5 or greater. *shrugs*
This. A lot of people seem to be acting as if the current state of the system is the final, intended state. There's more to come.

To me it seems that after 6 or so years of nada, it was due a few issues. The people who wanted endgame waited 18 issues for their turn. I say let them have a few, the game the rest of us love is still here, and still expanding.

Hey there newbie! Your logic and fair-minded level-headedness and completely accurate assessment of the situation have no place here!

The "rest of the game" has been put on hold for Issue 20, probably Issue 21, and who knows how many more issues.

Basically you were wrong, and are not willing to admit it as well.
They didn't give an exact breakdown of who was working on what, other than that Posi was heading up the end-game team, and that they would be splitting the staff to work on end-game and rest of game concurrently. I'm sure that there was/is overlap in some areas. I've yet to see them say that wasn't the case, (nor have I seen any evidence of that), so I'm not sure why you seem so certain that 100% of Dev activity is now end-game only.

It's a limitation of the genre. Making content takes exponentially more time than consuming it. I'd wager that if they could have possibly done so, the devs would have had the whole shebang, Alpha to Omega, with oodles of trials and an entire new set of 1-50 content, in the updater yesterday.
  18. And then Bill, we wait for the content producers to come up with more stuff for the content consumers. Same as always, in this game, or any other.

No, it's the direction the *end game* is heading. The rest of the game will continue on as it always has. The end game subset of devs under Positron will continue to work on the end game, pushing and changing things in order to provide new challenges for those that wish such things, and the rest of the dev team under War Witch will continue to work on the rest of the game for the benefit of all from 1-50, and those that don't want anything more than what we have already, albeit with new stories.

  21. Ran 3 last night on Virtue. 2 failed Lambdas with me as the lead and minimum numbers. The sabotage part is where things got ugly, as people aren't used to the hit and move strategy that it seems to require. That lead to us having to try and get the temps during the Marauder fight, which went as one would expect. But, that's about 12 people who got to see all the phases for the first time and learn how they work. And since we cleared *everything* before going in, everyone got iXP and threads and whatnot. Officially, a failed run, but as GlaDOS would say "This is a triumph!"

The BAF, (completely different group of people from the lambda runs) went much smoother. We only lost 6 escapees and beat the trial with minimum fuss. Got less iXP though. So, even though they "failed", I feel the Lambda runs were better overall.

Would I like more than 2 trials to run? Of course. But content is always going to come with time, so I'm not going to stamp my feet about this endgame not springing forth fully formed and fleshed out like Athena from Zeus' head.
  22. Also Lambda caps at 2 teams.
You still make progress towards unlocking slots or collecting threads even on a failed run, so while successful runs are optimal, you still will likely gain from a failure.

There's only one new currency, threads, which is converted into components, to craft boosts, same as shards and the Alpha. And threads can also be used to craft Alpha slot components. And as stated above, you still get all the other normal drops one would expect when fighting. Got a purple on a failed lambda today, along with sundry other salvage, recipies, enhancements, inspirations and inf.
