  1. If anyone wants to get the promotions they paid for, I'm going to try to be on tonight at 7:30 and 10:30 Eastern. (8-10 being "actual game play" time). I can pick a time tomorrow during the day and be on then, as well; what's good for people?
  2. Back to the Crazy 88s for a minute: We're at #21 as of this morning, just above the Association. Whose rules as per website are:

    1. Don't be a jerk.
    2. Log in once a week or get booted.
    3. SG mode on, always.
    4. Need sense of humor.

... apparently you get more flies with honey. I'm just saying.

EDIT: They may be a dead SG. I may be trumpeting success over someone who didn't show up to the fight. Alas.
  3. I'd have no problem with that.
  4. I sent it, thought "my inbox might be full" and deleted a couple old messages. So my message might have bounced and gotten destroyed.

*marks another million inf on my killsheet*

    Why?

As a side point, I've seen synthetic intelligences go down to 1 million or less. So people are possibly losing LESS money selling these things. Doesn't change the core point.

My theory: People crafted it first and looked at prices later.

    How to respec?

I think this has been covered in general terms but not specifics.

If you have a respec (from one of the above sources) you can use it as follows: If it's a "Freespec" (given out from an issue) you can use the /respec command. If it's an earned respec (however it's gotten) you have to go see the contact. Jack Wolfe, in Galaxy City (whatever the building is behind Back Alley Brawler) is the blueside respec contact. Redside there's a couple of special arbiters- one next to the trainer in Sharkhead, and I think they added a new one somewhere else.
  7. Factor of 10 or 100 more likely when you're making changes to the code itself; factor of 100 more likely when you're making those changes to a LOT of places in the code. This is straight C under the hood; a lot of the advantages of OO are stunted or totally absent here.
  8. Sorry, got caught up in things like dinner and conversation.

... it hasn't bounced back either. Maybe I mistyped something. Send a tell to @Boltcutter and see if I get that?
  9. just sent you a million inf. did it work?
  10. Fulmens

    Why?

If this was real money, 440K would be the penny in the "give a penny, get a penny" tray at the deli counter.
  11. I've been wrong before and I will be again.

Someone with a european account want to give me their global and I'll send em something?

    Why?

The money doesn't matter to me, so I'm happy to dump the 'crummy' ones on anyone who'll take them off my hands as a public service. I'd rather have somebody use 'em than just chuck em on the fire.
For the holds and the sleeps and the slows, I'd rather chuck 'em in the fire. I hate those things.
  13. There's one reason I'd be very, very cautious about things like raising the inf cap: bugs. I found a bug (July of this year maybe?) that would have let me, over the course of an afternoon, make literally hundreds of billions of inf out of thin air. I'm still not comfortable discussing the details, but there was a thread where people were talking about the last 5 sales for a purple all being some really outsize number like 900,000,908 . That was me, accidentally finding the bug. I reported it over the weekend and the servers came down Monday or Tuesday to fix it.

Point being, if they mess with the C code there's a very large chance of some disasterpiece happening again.

The "1 billion inf gold coins" are a good solution, self contained and unlikely to cascade through the world and destroy kittens and puppies, although I'd try to make them buyable for 1 billion and resellable for 950 million. Cause I'm petty like that.
  14. Part of the reason I roll my randoms at 32/33/35 is that 30 gives you a shot at all the L10-30 crap AND all the 20+ and 30+ crap. And any level 50's rolling in the 25-29 and getting something that caps at 30 will get the same effect you do . Nobody creates level 32s but a level 32, though... less demand, but almost NO supply.

I'm honestly not random rolling for profit, though.
  15. Hey, it was fun. I think I logged onto characters and sold LC's for two or two and a half hours straight.

  17. I think there's a little bit of "Prices are higher because we have more disposable income". And there's a little bit of "We pay more because we've adjusted to the price shock." But about a month after GR hit, purple prices dropped noticeably- my interpretation was that most of the new Praetorians were now starting to beat up L47+ content.

Prices are NOWHERE near the start of I18 levels, and supply is nowhere near as low.
  18. Uses I've had for the email system:
    1. Collecting from the Benefactors of the Loyal Opposition SG.
    2. Going around all my characters and getting 100 million off all the ones that can afford it to make a billion to turn into prestige for basebuilders. Collect the inf in the email, send a new email with 100M more.
    3. Sending money to basebuilders in Europe so they can turn it into prestige (I like to personally attend the burning of the inf, if I can, but I only have an NA account.)
    4. 11 inf test to someone that I'm about to mail some inf to.
    5. Buying random rolls from someone who's got an AM and is logging on at a time when I am not available. (they email back the 5 recipes.)

    So there's five.

    What's your five uses?

    Did you overpay?

ONE zero might have been intentional. This wasn't one zero.

    I think I've got about 12, which is a lot when you consider that it's 132 missions-worth.
I love when people answer their own questions. 1 Gladiator's is 30 merits is 330 missions-worth.

    Fast leveling

You're high enough level for ITFs. Those are good for a whole lotta XP. Log in and out by Imperious, that should help. Also consider joining whatever the appropriate server channels are.
  22. I'll agree that Citadel is a particularly bad example of a TF. If I don't need it for, say, 5% more HP, I'll avoid it like it has cooties.

At least Freaks, I kind of like beating for their own sake.

    Bona fides

Grats! I'd like to mention that I made a LOT of inf by farming up 100+ midlevel pool C recipes with TFs and with tips. Also had a lot of fun; it was pretty close to "typical" play, I think.
  24. My numbers on "what happened to pool C" roughly match Enyalios's- but I'm pretty sure she has data to back hers and I don't have data to back mine.
  25. My votes are that you should be 30,32,33, or 35 to random roll. There might be some interest at 40; I've never seen that much demand for it, though. I'm pretty sure everyone who might get level 45's is willing to gut it out till they can get 49s or 50s. Level 20... there's a LOT of sludge in the L20 rolls, and unlike L50 sludge I'm pretty sure there is NO demand for it. The good stuff is good, though.

I like to see people rolling at a variety of levels, though.
