There's a perpetual motion machine joke in there.
... Unfortunately the setup for the punchline is three credits of thermodynamics. -
OK, I'm a little embarassed that this works; On one character I put up a few 10-stacks of common and uncommon salvage at stupid prices and flipped 'em as they sold. I've sold 30 or 40 Rubies for up to a million inf each, and restocked all of them at 5908. Will nobody undercut me?
-
I'm going to ask obvious questions:
1. Are you slotted for [at least] 90% damage and 30% accuracy on your main attacks?
2. Do you have both Build Up and Aim, or the similarly-named powers? [Concentration and... something. Psychic Focus?] Do you use them?
3. Are you dying so much that you're constantly in debt? -
See, there's a bit of a disconnect on "spikes." Stuff I look at hits 800K regularly (the infamous midlevel End Mods, for instance.) So 1M is not that much of a change. It's still 5-20 times as much as it costs you to make, though.
(300M or so for me in generics, 300M or so for me in flippin' respec recipes. Not much traditional selling, I may have overpriced.) -
I sold a lot of overpriced generics (I had sellers at 1.2 million, 2.1 million and 4.1 million; the biggest sales I noticed were a couple of 8-millions and a 10-million.) Probably 200 million profit there. Flipped a bunch of respecs at normal pricing. Flipped 30 or 40 common salvage for 500K+ each.
People haven't bought any of my supershinies at superprices yet, but the traditional buying binge starts AFTER 2XP. (and the traditional salvage prices have gone down during the middle of 2XP except for the random items that sell out and spike; any price hikes will likely happen tonight or next Friday.)
I always think "This may be the 2XP where we don't have huge price spikes." And it may. On the other hand, there's enough floating inf that a lot of people don't care whether they pay 215M for a respec or 300 . I love those people. -
/auctionhouse gets you up to 22 extra columns of 10 inspirations each...

Rad/Sonic defender is the answer to nearly every question about duos.

I had ten or so things listed at 2.1 million go for 5. Thanks, impatient buyers!
(I sold some L30 recharge, so I may have snared your sales. I don't remember which were what.) -
Oh, people will be buying purples for a couple weeks after this 2XP.
-
On the other hand if you sell 20% as many at 10 times the price, you're way ahead.
-
Wait... Vault storage costs twice as much as on-character storage. For... the convenience of having to go somewhere to get your stuff?
Am I missing something here? -
In order of shininess, for me, it's "market slots, recipe slots, enhancement slots."
I'm unlikely to pay for the extra enhancement tray ($20 is a bit steep), but maybe 5 market slots and 5 recipe slots.
Edit: $20 is a bit steep FOR MY PLAYSTYLE. I'm not saying it is or isn't overpriced, just I don't need it that much. -
I currently have a Gladiator's Armor +3% global.
@Boltcutter in game.
2.5 billion BEFORE 2XP, going up considerably afterwards.

Om nom nom
Edit: Turns out the WW prices are higher and I munched someone else's crafted Ragnarok. -
The danger in asking scrub questions here is that you get stampeded by people offering helpful, accurate answers.

For vault storage, I'd do something like "2 of each seriously variable midrange uncommon, 3 of each seriously variable midrange common." There are uncommons that will never cost much (worst case, you try again in the morning)- I'm thinking of Data Drives here. There are commons that will never cost much, though not many; Improvised Cybernetics is kind of the poster child here. But Inert Gas can vary between like 11K and 200K.
If you wanted to be fancy you could put in a bid of like 8 of something you knew you were going to use a lot of, very soon... but I don't do that kind of planning and I never have.
I would also say that, though you can't use BASE storage, you can use EMAIL storage. If you are doing something else with your global emails, you could reserve 10 or 20 base storage as an equivalent. The assumption is that a starting player isn't doing anything complex with gleemail. -
During 2XP, you can traditionally do the following:
Sell generic IO's at 1-2 million each
Double the price on low-end set IO's (sell 10 million inf IO's for 20 million, like that)
... what do you think is going to happen to the prices on high-end IO's? I've currently got a 3% Defense IO that I'm selling for 2.5 billion (I know, everyone else is selling for 2.25) and I'm wondering if it's going to go to 3 billion after 2XP, or possibly even higher. . .
I don't think uniques are going to go up MUCH, because there are a couple hundred spare ones out there for e.g. Numina's; but Kin Combat, LoTG global Def, and other shinies could go pretty high pretty fast.
What does everyone else think? -
Quote:Just a reminder that if you accidentally pick up any hero/villain merits and you change alignment you lose them and get nothing in return.
not sure if I want to turn full hero yet, I do want to be able to buy a merits eventually, -
This is the Market Forum. We have secrets for making inf, and we will not shut up about them.
I do things like this frequently- "Oh, I'm almost level 32 and I want to IO out; better make some cash." Or "Oh, spring cleaning time, I think I'll list everything at 1 inf and turn all that inf into prestige and leave myself with 1 inf + 1 rare salvage per marketer."
It's good to get back to the basics sometimes, because although we may not see very many of them HERE, there are lots of people in game who don't believe that 50 million inf is a number they can ever get. -
"Recipes below max level generally do not sell for as much, and do not sell nearly as fast." I find that for gold rolls [or hero merits], I make more inf per roll with my level-locked 30/32/33/35 characters than I do with 50's. You can't get "min level" amounts of cash for things like Celerity: Stealth, but you get a lot more than "max level" amounts. Also, things you wouldn't expect to be worth anything often are, because the supply is TINY so even a little demand results in good prices.
But they do take a lot longer to sell, even at Fulmens rates of production- at TopDoc rates I imagine you'd flood the market in a hell of a hurry. -
I'd IO out one of your ranged damage guys.

I understood it like the Pengy answer in post 8. The Pengy drawing at 13 helps a little more.
My tiny pedantic comment is that 100 psi is pressure . Multiply by the area over which the pressure is being applied (in square inches) to get the total force. -
For dual-boxing, you would probably run a L51 trendy farmer of the moment (Elec/Shield brute? SS/Fire? I don't even know) with your L12 as vengeance bait or insp supply or something.

Yes. Yes it is.
I may be inspired to try and push the Crazy 88s a little farther. -
I checked, and someone I know is pretty close- you're ahead, though.
Here's your ... ellipsis.
