  1. ... so I got Field Crafter first, and read this second. Sigh. I did at least break even on FC, maybe even make some money.

    Things I did that helped:

    * worked on two different types at once- so if there was a shortage of salvage A, maybe salvages C and D were available at a reasonable price. More than two different badges and I lost track.

*I filled two tables with crafted, but not sold, enhancements. If you don't have your own base this isn't really an option.

*I used an alt to increase the number I had for sale at any given time.

    * I actually created a respec mule to get rid of the 35-40 Immobs I crafted. (get to level 3, go to base, grab 10, back to galaxy, vetspec for cash. . . )

    * I still threw away a bucket of low level Taunt, Hold, and To Hit Buff IO's. I sold more than expected of the level 25-30 mezzes but I was looking to craft things that weren't in ridiculously high supply. This was probably a waste of my own time and inf (salvage ain't cheap.)

    * I already had the needed crafting badge, so that wasn't a problem for me. I figure you craft 500+ making the needful; I don't know how bad the rest are.

    * Sale techniques: Don't put up eight of the same thing for sale at one time. You'll clog for sure. Craft the juicier ones first [acc, dam, etc.] and then try to sell a mix. If you're working on a travel badge, you can sell "two run, two fly, one acc, one dam, one acc debuff, one hold, and two heals" a lot easier than you can sell ten "runs."
  2. You cannot. However, there is one loophole: Respecs. If you respec and "cash in" your IO's you get either the full crafting price, or for a generic, you get half the crafting price back.

    What makes this loophole relevant?

You get crafting price on the IO's in your tray.

Alphonse spends 400K and crafts a level 50 Dam/End Executioner's Contract, only to discover that it goes in SNIPE sets and not RANGED sets. Glumly , he goes to sell it at Wents and finds that sale prices range from 100 to 20,000 inf. He puts it up for 5K and stomps off to make some Death Mage suffer for not explaining things to him.

Bob is going to respec his level 24 fire/fire scrapper, because Flurry is just not funny any more. He swings by Wents and finds an amazing bargain: a level 50 Executioner's Contract for under 10K! Bob puts it in his tray and does his respec as normal... except at the end he gets 400K more than he otherwise would have.
  3. One tiny modification I would suggest:

However, due to the RNG, maybe you got an inspiration instead of a recipe or invention salvage. And even if you do get a recipe or invention salvage, there's also another spin on the RNG to determine what rarity/kind it is.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There are five "rolls"- I remember someone using the phrase "the quinfecta." Inspiration, enhancement, recipe, base salvage and regular salvage. Inspirations aren't elbowing out your recipes.

The majority of the level 50 villains I see have Binder of Beasts and maybe Servant of Recluse, but none of the other SF badges.

    [/ QUOTE ]

How many other SF badges are there? Two?
  5. ... which is in itself, potentially, a facet of the problem.
  6. [ QUOTE ]
In all honesty I only see the problem for both sides is just pool c rares being borked.

I still don't have a feel for the recent vill market, so here's another data point: PBAOE Dam/Rech from level 30 to 40. I checked Multi-Strike [generally cheap and works well, but not a big set bonus winner] and Scirocco's [ooh, trendy]. These are both Pool A.

    RED SIDE
    ... Multi-Strike:
    ... ... recipes- 22 for sale, 1 bid.
    ... ... crafted- 5 for sale, 0 bid

    ... Scirocco:
    ... ... recipes- 160 for sale, 0 bid.
    ... ... crafted- 12 for sale, 6 bid

    BLUE SIDE:

    ... Multi-Strike:
    ... ... recipes- 9 for sale, 3 bid.
    ... ... crafted- 8 for sale, 0 bid

    ... Scirocco:
    ... ... recipes- 224 for sale, 13 bid.
    ... ... crafted- 16 for sale, 9 bid

That's stuff that is fairly high supply [drops from critters] and is in fairly high demand.

The heroside market has MORE but not by ridiculous amounts.

Pool A (two data points) looks OK.

    I suspect in the case of something higher-usage and/or lower-supply there'd be a critical failure of V-side.

... maybe I should check Doctored Wounds or something? Bah, later.

All I want is to honestly win the sewer trial once. Which requires, currently, 4 L36-40 characters and 4 people who are willing to go through three hours of abuse and then NOT click the "I Win" button when they're losing.

I want to play and win this part of the game. I'm not asking you to make it easier or anything... just make it autoexemp.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You dont need an autoexemp. Just find 3 people that feel as you do. Otherwise its a "mommy! make them play the way I want them to play!!!!!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

After you try the Sewer Trial a couple times, you'll be out of friends who're willing to try it with you, too.
  8. I'd be happy if they fixed the Sewer trial so that level 50's autoexemp down. I'm pretty easy to please.
  9. I thought the trigger for the table exploding was one of my characters going, "ooh! Table! Can I craft anything right now?"

    BOOM.
  10. If you move your camera straight down it's REALLY OBVIOUS who's the anchor- with rad anyway. Dark... well, nobody's good on dark. Dark defenders lose their OWN anchors sometimes.

By the way, some people get annoyed that their anchor dies, EVER. I'm happy if my anchor lives to the second half of the fight, personally. [like the "Boss rule"... if you nuke and the boss lives, that's not a problem because you have a team to take care of that.]
  11. I only read through this once.

Where in this suggestion does it nerf regen?
  12. Psychic Healer: The market is not a twitch game. Warren Buffet said "The market is a mechanism for reallocating wealth from the active to the patient." But what does he know, he's only worth a bazillion real dollars?

Some people on Monday were paying 350,000 inf for Regenerating Flesh because there were three for sale and they wanted it NOW.

Tuesday Morning, I had ten of them and I paid somewhere around a thousand each for them.

That's an extreme example, because double XP ran the market ALL THE WAY OUT ...

but you can't beat a 350-to-1 ratio no matter how much you play.
  13. I'm not sure. Some of your points are valid [Dark Regen at Brute speeds has gotta be grim] and some I don't really trust [I build and keep a pretty solid Fury bar just by hitting confused people, I could probably do the same with disoriented ones.] I don't have enough Brute experience, never mind DA brute experience, to say you're wrong... but I think OG is less of a problem than you think.

I have nothing good to say about Cloak of Fear.

    Husband/Wife Double XP Weekend:

Live on computer, delivery pizza, foraging in kitchen, and catnaps....

It's great when we both play.

  16. (dating myself to a five year period, I bet)
    I'm a man
    ... I'm a virgin
    I'm a man
    ... I'm a wh*re
    I'm a man
    ... I'm a little girl..
    and we'll make love together...
  17. I've seen Zardoz.

WITH A HANGOVER. Caused by drinking enough to watch Frankenhooker all the way through.
  18. I

  19. I think that's a problem with standard IOs, and with SO's for that matter. I've seen either that, or something very similar, well before the Invention system.

My memory isn't perfect, so "I'm sure" doesn't mean "I'm right." (Last week I was SURE I'd seen something, I tested it, I was wrong.)

    But I'm sure.

Get your marshmallows and pointy sticks here before the flames start, folks...

    [/ QUOTE ]

How much for just the pointy sticks? I want two.
  21. Still like to see them fixed in the "mainstream".
  22. [ QUOTE ]

Are you sure that was frequently asked?

... it's been asked twice in my circle of friends, in conversation, so yeah.
  23. There's a monthly "Scrapper Issues" list which has been maintained with exemplary fairness by WanderingCat for, like, three years. It acheived many of its goals and was in no way a formal position.

Castle read the first ... something like three thousand... responses to "What should be done with Defiance?"

I don't know if we need a layer of filtering here.
  24. Now I'm going to have to write my INV guide because I disagree on a number of things.
  25. "not so valuable in the first 40 levels" is hardly a ringing endorsement.
