55,908 is my minimum bid for a recipe I'm going to actually craft. I consider it a mark of respect.
-
I'm away from the game until about Sunday night... send me a tell if you still need help.
-
OK. Burnt through the billion, plus a little. I'm shut down... for now.
I have only one promised transaction still to do (Sidhe-Bane.)
Everyone else, thanks for playing! -
I was even more of an A** Clown... I couldn't even get into the SG right.
Wasn't there a Force Field tank who'd run in with Personal Force Field on? -
... Nobody flips bonesnaps.
Someone with only 1,500 inf to bid hasn't figured the markets out yet. That's my guess. -
It could be a signed number (I don't know why)... anyway, the last bit is a mystery.
-
Make sure to use a different level 53 every time you get another 2 billion. The bids will stack and you will be unable to collect them wtihout losing all the extras.
If this ever comes up, I'm putting in bids for a billion each, because that way I don't have to empty myself out before collecting a bid. -
Woulda been 10% off what I paid for everything involved. Then I noticed some major practical problems....
Miracles [redside] cost around 100M raw and 120-140M crafted. Chances are a 90M crafted sale is not going to make it to the intended target.
Just as an example. -

Just cause I used exclamation points don't mean I'm crying...and name calling for bringing up a pretty serious bug (IMO) sounds like a overreaction :P

"Pretty serious bug" to me is something like "every time I go anywhere near the black market on Victory, I get mapserved. "
SERIOUS BUGS STOP PEOPLE FROM PLAYING ENTIRELY.

If I recall, someone on these forums claimed to be a casual player who was having trouble purpling out their actual warshade. It didn't start with BaB...
-
I dunno, if you're not at cap they'd give you 2.4%. Yea, expensive though.
-
There was a group of A** Clowns in the early days with various ideas... a Tank who didn't take point and used the Medicine Pool, explaining "I'm a healer"... a Scrapper with no enhancements- just used inspirations. They did Positron at level 10 and completed it- they had friends standing outside holding 20 Awakens each.
I had an A** Clown wannabe called "Hockey Night" (this was during the hockey strike)- his thing was that he'd charge in waving a sword, throw it down and start beating people with his fists.
If I recall, a pool power attack chain approaches mediocrity as long as you stay away from Flurry. -

And with common salvage so high, I can't even craft them for profit.

.... err, I'm sorry. That was very rude of me.
I surely meant "save a couple of slots for low bids on salvage and put sellers in the other 15-20."
People have been, with a straight face, paying 300K for level 35 and 40 generic IO's for the last few months. Rech reduction, endmod, acc, dam, that I've personally made money on.
I still get my salvage for 25K or less- usually 10K or so, but I've gotten sloppy, because I still make SO MUCH MONEY even if I overpay for salvage. -
I can see I have a considerable set of work to do before I buy the Two. Billion. Inf. Miracle.
-
If they're on the same server, custom SG (As mentioned).
If different servers... well, you can make sure there's only one for sale, put it up at too high a price, and buy it from yourself. You lose 10% of the overly-high price, though. -
Situation: Two level-pacted characters, one doing a Katie TF and the other logged off. They hadn't been played for a long time (a week or so) so they had full Patrol XP bars.
We end up fighting Mary with several people at level 32 or 33, and only 6 people on the team. There is considerable death as a result.
I would have debt, go to the hospital, zone back and ... have patrol XP.
Was I taking my wife's patrol XP? -
I broke 4.5 billion destroyed today. RAR.
-
Don't underestimate Shiver. If the alpha doesn't kill you, throwing out Shiver against +2s gives you roughly twice as long to live. So it's the equivalent of 50% Damage Resist.
-
I consider a low bid to be "anything less than the crafting cost". I personally bid a minimum of 55K as a sort of "Thank you for posting", no matter if the last five COMBINED are under 55K.
I'm not made of money, but sheesh, you only have 90-something slots and one rare salvage is a million inf, pretty much. I can afford a twentieth of that. -
[ QUOTE ]
The ~3% defense may not seem like much, but it is THE BEST defense enhance per slot you can get in the entire game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Today's nitpick is brought to you by the letters S and D, and the number 3.0 .
Steadfast Res/Def gives 3% to all three types for one slot. -

Its darkly ironic that the same people who hate farmers and marketeers are the same people who want cheap purples.
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't like being on farm teams. I don't like being lied to by people filling farm teams. (It's happened.) I don't like playing with PL'd incompetents (or any incompetents, really.) So I guess I'm an anti-farmer.
I don't care how expensive purples get. Perhaps your generalizations need qualifiers? -
If I was going to farm something I might do the following:
1. Play some AE missions- real ones with story, that I might like. Rate them. Send tells to my friends with the good ones.
2. Pick a category of midlevel common salvage: tech or arcane. Do this till I have around 500 tickets.
3. Create 30 of that. Store at Wents.
4. Create another 30 of that. Store at Wents.
I should have about 10 of each item of salvage. Put them up for sale at 55K each.
5. Wait a day.
6. Pull what didn't sell, eating the 5% fee, sell for 1.
7. Repeat. -
Player99, when you make up your new chain: look at putting Havoc Punch into it. If your numbers are correct it's 70% more DPA than Charged Bolt.

Just playing the game to fifty does NOT guarentee you millions of inf. I have 2 50s (blueside) and neither has more than 50M inf. I have one lower level (40 if memory serves, also blueside) who has over 70M.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, not only do all of your examples have "millions", they, in fact, have TENS of millions.
When you can do a cut-rate IO job on a toon for around 5 million and actually get decent set bonuses for under 30 million, 50 million is decent cash.
[/ QUOTE ]
This has come up repeatedly and I do regret that particular turn of phrase.
I'll re-phrase it this way:
Just playing to fifty does not guarantee you enough inf to IO your toon with sets, Frankenslot? Perhaps, I've not done the math on that.
I apologise for the confusion this quote is likely to create, and am suprised at the life the post has taken on :/
[/ QUOTE ]
Frankenslotting a level 50 melee toon these days costs around 10 million inf. Maybe 15 million.
Maybe I should retry the Spine/Dark Experiment I ran in the early days of I9, where I did it on a 6 million inf budget over a weekend, and see what it costs now. (5.5 million of that was from respeccing out the SO's.)
