It shows up to me... weird.
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=133337 Starting at post 23. -
"The Pastry Elves' laugh should be less bubbly and more tinkly. Our giggle should remind you of gazing at the stars as a child, and our smile should make you think of the taste of honey on a cool spring morning."
I wish I could remember one of the other BAB quotes- something like "I want to change the Martial Arts assassin's strike but I know I'll get an angry PM from someone named Horse Stance Groinpuncher about how I destroyed their character concept." -
I've seen an entire SG of Lil' Manticore, Lil' Sister Psyche, etc.
Unless CoH decides to sue itself, you're probably safe. -
I had some pretty hideous early experiences on a BS/Inv scrapper when the game was new. Spectrals are resistant to lethal, really really hard to hit and go right through your "defenses" in the low levels. Bosses mez a lot.
These days, any team I'm on rips up the CoT pretty well, but I can't think of a specific "Oh, that" reason.
My two "Remember me? I'm back and this time it's not going to be quite the same..." characters were a Force Field defender [possibly FF/Rad for increased To Hit] and a */Dark scrapper [mine was Spine/Dark but I knew I had a kinetic with me at ALL times.] Dark Armor laughs at a tremendous number of things that work really well on most people- End Drain, Psi Damage, and Fear for three. It may break your heart and leave you with a cold, dark endurance bar, but I love it anyway. -
I'm rolling at 33... I have not yet begun to drip!
OK, I was hoping for something more impressive than that. -
Hope you got onto the VG.
Another item created and put up for sale: crafted Basilisk -Rech, L19 . (Finished a Posi, did one roll, saving the rest till my personal cashin level.) -
The Widows chipped in and got Recluse ten mittens.
-
Ok, that makes TWO times I've seen the cherub wings work. Nice pic.

Bromley, I'm trying really hard not to unload the dumptruck of sarcasm here.
It doesn't really matter that "Someone" is not a goldfarmer. (proof is tedious and mathematical, but available if required. Let's just say there's no money in it.)
It doesn't even matter that dozens or hundreds of people are manipulating dozens or hundreds of things at all times in this market.
The real point I would like to make is that I don't care and neither should you. I don't care because I can defeat this cunning manipulation within ten minutes, one of two ways.
First: I put up a bid for "the exact price" the flipper is using, plus one inf. I do something else for up to ten minutes. Check my badges, craft my other IO's, run a radio mission, go AFK and take out the garbage. Start a fight on the forums. Whatever. When I come back, I have the item. Usually it takes me less than two minutes to defeat the flipper. Sometimes it's less time than it takes me to place the rest of my bids.
Second: If I wanted to get the item RIGHT NOW (6 AM on villainside or something), I would go to the AE building and do something fast. When I had about 80 tickets, I'd go upstairs and roll ten of the general class I wanted- if the magic item was Stabilized Mutant Genomes, I'd roll midlevel tech salvage. Chances are I'd have TWO of it.
So I don't have to pay the Buy It Nao prices. You don't have to pay the Buy It Nao prices. NOBODY has to pay those prices.
... so that's why I don't care. Why is it that you do? -
Seriously, most of the people I've done business with lately have wanted red-side currency. I recommend looking for a better deal than I offer, and taking it.
Edit: I just sent a PM to someone from my old customer list pointing them to this thread. Merry christmas, or something. -
Quote:We're workin' on the problem in our own, minimally-constructive way.
There is no way for a non-level 40 character to create a level 40 version of that recipe except by direct purchase of 200 merits (or whatever the exact price is). If I'm spending 200 merits to direct buy, I will be slotting it, not selling it.

Reading the first post closely, it looks like they expect 1.6 billion influence for 1 billion infamy.
Going back through my PM's, I've been doing 1 to 1, minus wentworth fee and profit, for at least six months.(I found a PM from 6/20/09.) Smurphy used to adjust his rates on a regular basis but I don't think he ever went as high as 1.6 to 1. ( He also used to charge Wentworth's fees both ways, so it cost the customer 10% for him to get the money off freedom on one side and 10% for him to get it back on freedom on the other side. I only charge one Wentfee, zero if both sides are on Infinity, Pinnacle or Victory.)
Maybe someone somewhere got 1.6 to 1 once. For all I know there's a thriving exchange community that I'm not involved in.
I only know what I've done and what I've charged. -
Did you really say "The military uses it, how bad could it be?"
Really?
Merry christmas. -
Are you not asking people to do you a service?
-
To the OP: Aren't you glad you didn't get the benefit of that leadership style for an extended period of time?
-
Nukes have a 140% To Hit modifier (something like 100% To Hit on an even con) and are USUALLY used with Build Up or Aim or both. That makes the numbers on a +3 something like 70% chance to hit with no acc slotted.
I have, less than five times in five years, had to use a nuke as an emergency measure (BU and Aim not available) and therefore, because I am paranoid, I try to slot a little Acc in there. One Acc/Dam, three Dam/Rech [one will cost you for salvage, one will cost you for both] and one Rech and you're pretty much set- 25% or so Acc, 95% or so Dam, 95%+ Rech. -
What time are you guys going to be around? And are your globals @Xanatos and @IamLink respectively?
I charge 1: 1.25 either way (10 gets you 8), any server. @Boltcutter . I'm quite happy to get red inf these days.
Edit: Sorry we couldn't do business. Merry Xmas!
