I noticed something about the launcher and it's staged downloads so I'll post it here instead of starting a new thread. If you have stage 3 (Atlas Park) downloaded you can play in instance 1 but you can't switch instances using the train station because it says you don't have stage 4 downloaded.

This pretty much means that all new/free players will all get crammed into AP 1. Lag city here we come.

I don't think it would be too much to have the Security Guards say something as you approach them. The Vanguard guy says stuff everytime I run by and he doesn't even do anything!

I haven't noticed a change on my main 50 or any of my alts at various levels.

My advice for new/first players is always the same.

Go to King's Row at lvl 5 and talk to the detective in the police station to get a radio. Do 4-5 radio missions until you get the Safeguard mission. Complete it for a jetpack to help you travel around.

You don't need it if you do the sewer trial but it helps if you want to solo the first 14 levels.

I'm sure they are going to reorganize the forums if they open a free player section. Maybe they should move Technical Issues/Bugs into the Player Help forum while they are screwing around with stuff.

The VIP Headstart is doubling as an extended beta/stress test. Anyone who says otherwise is putting the spin on it. I totally understand why and also understand why they don't want to refer to it that way.

They haven't reactivated all the old accounts yet. When they allow free accounts to log in will be the end of the headstart.

If you install a new driver then experience problems it is most likely the drivers fault. Personally I never install the latest drivers. I think I am still running of the 260.xx drivers.

The trials are totally doable without having an alpha slotted. I do them all the time.

I wonder if the devs are going to do something about SO droprates since they lowered those due to all the recipe/salvage drops. Players who don't get recipe drops are really gonna feel it.

That's a good point. There very well may be more downtime coming as they fix issues with Freedoms launch. Who knows we may get some form of double xp weekend or something else when they are done.

The only time I have ever called a service provider and demanded compensation is when Verizon charged me $2 a month for data usage that I never used. Hit a wrong button on my phone and get charged for 1mb of data usage. I had to call them once a month for like 4 months because they kept doing it.
