Well, you're holding him through the shield, which isn't supposed to be possible and is fixed in issue 4 aparantly according to the patch notes.
Don't get me wrong, I've use this strat too. It's just really not the way things are supposed to be done. -
Nice, I posted on the first page of the thread
-
If you keep spaming the holds, the rikti won't spawn. Thats what makes this strategy kinda cheap
-
I dunno...maybe because some people, you know, actually want to do the trial and not farm it for XP?
I know, crazy isn't it? -

[*] If you are going to be exemplaring, make sure to take that into account when you select your powers.

Quick note, it's pretty much been confirmed by statesman that PvP arenas feature auto-exemplar so that if a level 50 fights a level 20, the 50 will be lowered to level 20.
So even if you don't plan on exemplaring, but you do plan on doing PvP, choose your powers wisely -
Don't limit the SG to 75 characters...limit it to 75 unique accounts. This would clear up pretty much everyones complaints about super group size.
Otherwise...
Alliance Chat
As a lot of other people have stated, the ability to promote/demote offline members. -
Wow thats weird...since if you copy and pasted everything exactly, it should work fine. Doublecheck there isn't some weird charecters tagged on the end or somthing.
Since that bind command you were trying to use isn't valid anyway, you don't have to do anything to correct itIt didn't change anything in the first place.
Ah hah, didn't realize that the first part of the post and the second part of my post were directed at the same person. Heh, I wasn't awake yet when I posted that -

:-) I'm sure but I'm at work. I was just hoping that someone would go "oh yeah, I did that too!"
I'll write it down tonight and post it.

Heh, sorry, I used to hang around a bunch of computer tech related boards and you wouldn't belive the number of people who posted stuff like "My computer doesn't work! Help me fix it please!" with no details
I'll try to swing by later and see if you've posted the specific message yet, and I'll see what I can do if you haven't been helped already -
If you could say exactly what the message that you get is, it would be helpful
I think the message you're getting is a little more specific, stating an actual command that needs the two paramaters. -
You should not have to bind teleport_on.txt for any reason, as the teleport_off.txt will do that for you.
I'm not really sure whats going on with your problem though..might be a conflict between this bind and somthing else you might be running. -
I believe 36 is the minimum level for this.
-
Cheesy Tactic #2 no longer works as mob sizes now scale up when you go up an elevator/leave the immediate area where you were when you added more people.
-
The contacts leading up to the mission are always in the same place, but the actual mission location is not. I've seen Talos and Perez, and I'm sure there's more locations it can show up at.
-
The map is random, so you might have a 3rd floor, you might not. You might even have two 3rd floors
I've done it with the capsule in the middle of the room, other times its been behind a door.
You just have to be careful while going through all the time, and make sure you keep an eye out for the capsule while going through the mission. -
Thats a known problem...sounds like a bug to me.
If you drag the Chat tab down towards te bottom of the window, it will reset itself back to where it was before. -
Yes, shadows will be turned back on, but nothing that can't be fixed by a little tweaking.
If you want to keep your current graphical settings, remove "vis_scale 1.0$$shadowvol 0$$ss 0" from teleport_on.txt and
"vis_scale 0.5$$shadowvol 2$$ss 2" from teleport_off.txt (make sure there's only one set of $$'s between each command after you do this)
However, if you're lagging with all graphical settings turned down, this bind isn't going to help you much with the lag. -
Yea, what you have to do is create two text files, one for teleport_on.txt and the other for teleport_off.txt. It doesn't really matter where they are, but it generally helps if there isn't any spaces in the path to the files.
Paste the contents of teleport_on.txt into the file you're using for on. Then adjust the path after bind_load_file to point to the file you're using for teleport_off.txt.
Do the same thing for teleport_off.txt, except edit the path to point to your teleport_on file.
Once you get in game, go to your chat window and type /bind_load_file <whatever path you put the teleport off file in>
In my case, I keep my bind files in c:\coh, so I created a directory in there called tp and put the following two files there (notice where I edited them to change the path)
c:\coh\tp\teleport_on.txt
[ QUOTE ]
lshift "+down$$vis_scale 1.0$$shadowvol 0$$ss 0$$camdist 12$$window_show chat$$window_show target$$window_show tray$$bind_load_file c:\coh\tp\teleport_off.txt"
shift+lbutton "powexec_name teleport"
[/ QUOTE ]
c:\coh\tp\teleport_off.txt
[ QUOTE ]
lshift "-down$$vis_scale 0.5$$shadowvol 2$$ss 2$$camdist 150$$window_hide chat$$window_hide target$$window_hide tray$$bind_load_file c:\coh\tp\teleport_on.txt"
shift+lbutton nop
[/ QUOTE ]
and then in game, I used the following command to finish the setup of the bind:
/bind_load_file c:\coh\tp\teleport_off.txt
Hope this helped anyone trying to set up this bind. -
Just wanted to say this bind is really cool. I edited it for a longer camera distance in teleport mode, took ut some of the graphical settings due to how my lag works and hid a few more windows during the teleport, but this bind has changed teleport from mindly annoying to very enjoyable.
I pretty much hide every window on the screen except the nav and map so I can tell where I'm going.
Nice job. -
Just want to say, that no matter what anyone else may say about that, I had a blast
I know there was a bunch of people complaining saying that it was dumb, but I definitly didn't think so. There's more to the game than just running around and leveling.
