Really like how the watercolor background turned out on this. It makes the characters pop out very nicely.

There were unusual issues that popped up on the live server, that may have delayed the work for the open beta.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'd go with that. With all the hotfixes this week, I bet they want to make sure they can devote enough attention to any bug reports a Mac open beta will generate once they make sure live is actually working. Live server stability is more important than expending resources on a beta. -

any chance those of us with PCs will be able to get those nice perks one day?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes. As has been stated many times (really really sorry...I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but this has been asked quite a bit), they plan to offer a booster pack with the added powers so you don't have to buy the box.
Or, if you want to buy the box you can do that and apply the code to get the bonus items, just like any other edition (like good vs evil and all that) -
There are a couple of pictures here:

Specifically the guy who's teleporting out and the guy with the golden wings. -

Will Mac and PC users be able to play together on the same servers?
Will there be some way for PC users to get the "special" Mac costume and Power items?
Will Mac users (eventually) get 36 character slots per server?
Will PC users who change over to Mac machines be able to retain their PC-originated accounts and characters? (Note that this is a serious consideration for those of us ready to upgrade our machines who don't want to deal with Vista and are therefore considering Macs).
These and many other questions to come, but these are the most important ones I could think of at the moment.

yes.
yes.
I don't see why not.
Yes.
It's the same game, same servers...different client. Client is free, if you buy the box you get the additional stuff, if you don't want to buy the box you'll be able to buy a thing that'll give you the additional stuff probably for $10 or so, judging from past advances.
All of which have been answered in the thread already. Not to be a jerk or anything, but a lot of your questions have probably been answered somewhere in here. -
If you're taking peoples money and there's a delay, you really do owe it to them to at least keep updating. Even something like "Well, the move is taking longer than expected and the new place looks like a disaster area. I expect to get this all cleaned up and get back to work in a week or two. Thanks for your patience!" would be fine.
Just post a freaking update! People are generally understanding about stuff. You don't have to lay out your entire personal life, just...SOMETHING!
Gil seems like a very nice guy and his work is really good...he just seems to have trouble with the basics of running a business. -
I agree with the shrike. I really like the emotion in her face and the way her pose is. It's really expressive.
-
I really like this one too. The zombie with the eye falling out is my favorite part I think. Very fun touch.
-
The way transgaming works is that it wraps around the existing windows code and translates it to run natively on OS X.
The underlying code does not change. So as far as CoH goes, it will still be a pure 32-bit application. Nothing in the game will make any use of any unique mac features because it will be exactly the same code at it's core as the windows version. -
I really like Dark Emotions. Especially her face and the way she's positioned. It just oozes attitude.
Virs Impavida also came out very awesomely (I was over at her place last night while she was finishing it...so I got a sneak peek)

New website? Dang, why don't you do something useful and make some new in-game maps?
We've been playing the same maps since beta!! Get rid of the cave maps too. Everyone hates them!
[/ QUOTE ]
Er...the people who make the website are not the people who make the game. -
You can dual box CoH on a windows machine too if you have enough horsepower. There's nothing stopping you from doing it on windows.

P.S. The real questions for Lighthouse would be: Whether the PC and Mac versions of the game would have simultaneous update/patch/issue releases, or if there would be a delay of a day or two; and whether Mac users will be issue patches for the CohTest client to use the Training Room for CoH betas.
[/ QUOTE ]
They have to. Otherwise the Mac client will be unable to connect to the servers for a couple days since since the versions will be different. -
[ QUOTE ]
The link in question is indeed jumping to a conclusion and spreading a rumor. Since it's not in NCNC's best interests to restrict the copying of the client software (indeed, they want people to copy the client, because those people need an actual live account to play anyway), they're not going to poison the well with the heavy negative publicity attached to SecureROM.
This, I firmly believe.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. If, as positron indiciated, you'll be able to just download the client for free anyway...there's no point to including SecureROM in that, because anybody can just download it.
It doesn't add up. -
Chiming in late here, but I think this last piece is your best colored pencil shaded piece out of all of them. I just love the ridges on the barrel and the way the light from the fire highlights her hair and costume.
Probably my favorite one so far. -
I looove the way the shading on the metal turned out. Very nicely done.

Very pretty! Sometimes a gal has to ditch the full plate and get some sun. And frankly, you can't go wrong with Elf chicks in general. Elf booty got soul, as the song goes.
[/ QUOTE ]
There's a song?
And I agree. The world would be a better place with more Elf chicks. Especially ones in bikinis. -
I really like her face. There's an awful lot of expression packed in there. And the pose works out well too. Two thumbs up.
-
Really like Z Girl. It's the attitude. That "why should I do that? You can do it just fine" look
-
There was no fan art this issue because the Screenshots and Art forum was missing during the production. It should return next week

I have a feeling that the guys who are using vBulliten on Warez sites aren't paying for it anyway
So it's kinda hard to revoke a license that doesn't exist.

Curious how the name purge will happen - are we re-registering on the new boards, or will we have an option to change our name somewhere? I know admins can change VB names, but didn't think users could change their own names.
I would love to grab my global as my username - makes for far less confusion

I believe it'll be that they'll just be dumping forum accounts that haven't logged in in over 3 years. Nothing you have to do. -
Just a minor correction. The name for the first piece of art in the scoop is incorrectly labeled "Lilith"
It should be "Countess Lilith" -
I'm going to be kinda weird and say I really love the way the grass turned out in this piece. I think it along with the tree and the fog really sets an atmospheric...uh...atmosphere.
And lilith's pose rocks.
