I'm frost and I watch Wassy draw hot chicks. Seriously.

Actually I'm just an art admirer. Starting to dabble in graphic design though.

    I am pretty violent, aren't I?

I'm just pretty sure that if there is to be a throw-down, you're going to be the one to come out on top.

There better not be a European Wassy, or else there's gonna be a throw-down, I can tell you right now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think if there IS a European Wassy, there won't be one for very long after the transition. On the forums or elsewhere...

Between 7AM and 9AM Pacific Time, on July 28th, the current UBB Message Boards will be taken offline in order to transfer the data over to the vBulletin Message Boards.

This means that the UBB Message Boards will NOT be accessible during that time.

The work that needs to be done on the new boards is expected to take approximately 72 hours.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Guys, the way I read these 3 sentences is that these boards will be down for 2 hours, not 3 days.

The 3 days is for further work that needs to be done on the other boards after the transfer.

I'm assuming that the new boards will open after the 3 day mark.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think they're taking the forums offline at some point between the two times listed. Doesn't make sense to copy the data and then re-open the old forums for people to keep posting.

Expect no forums for about 3 days.
  6. Probably spending a lot of time forgetting the forums are down and habitually clicking the link anyway.
  7. Quite enjoyed the busts. Especially Thessalia, Synergy and Goldie Digger.

Your coloring skillz were on fire yesterday.
  8. I'm going to have to go with projectionist. Pretty close call though, as per usual.
  9. The G5 is quite old actually. Looks like it's always been that way for it.

EDIT: See Logitech's site. None of the "Gaming Grade" mice have OS X support whereas every other mouse does.

    Proof

I think the issue is those mice allow you to switch DPI on the fly. That might be one of the features logitech doesn't want to be forced to make work on OS X where it will be pretty much useless to a majority of the audience there.

EDIT #2: Then I just noticed the MX1100 which has DPI switching and OS X support. So maybe they just don't feel like it. or that particular feature doesn't work on OS X. I don't have a MX1100 so I can't try.
  10. Ah. Looks like Logitech doesn't support the G series mice on platforms other than Windows. They're considered "gaming" mice. Every other logitch mouse has great OS X support.

So I'm not sure what to tell you at this point...

    Forum Help...

It's something they have to do though. Based on the post ID of the newest post, there's been something like 13.8 million posts in the history of this forum. You can't store all of those without slowing things down, so they have to pick and chose what to keep.
  12. The mac editionof CoH only officially recognizes 3 mouse buttons though. So to get around that you need to use the the logitech software to bind whatever button you want to use to a keyboard key (I tend to use F7-F12 for this purpose) and then bind that key in game to the command you want to use.

    Forum Help...

Yeah, forum purges happen every month or two, generally. They remove all older posts (I'd hazard a guess it's threads that have no activity for at least a month, maybe 2)

    The execptions would be:
    1) Forums that are marked to never be purged. Screenshots and fan art along with the player guide forum are such places
    2) individual posts that are set to never be purged. See the "gone to the americans post" for an example.
    3) threads that have been posted in by a red name are usually kept.

On a Macbook or Macbook Pro, boot it first, then hook up the external monitor, and also an external keyboard and mouse (both required to make this work). Close the lid. You might then have to wake it up again using the keyboard. After that, you'll be using your external monitor, keyboard, and mouse.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Just wanted to add, once you wake it up you can open the lid without messing up the external monitor setup (The LCD on the laptop will remain off). And if you're playing CoH, I would HIGHLY recommend that you open the lid. A lot of heat gets dissipated from the keyboard and closing the lid kinda messes with that.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
I think the main point of the article is that, IF you let someone else use your account, and IF that person breaks rules or misbehaves, YOU are the one who will be held accountable. As long as everyone is playing nicely, the issue will never come up -- how would they ever know, or prove, that you were sharing an account? But if they cause trouble, it won't make any difference that it was someone else "borrowing" your account -- you're the one who's going to get banned/suspended/whatever.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah. I think the real purpose of the rule is to eliminate situations where people try to use the "my brother did it!!!" defense.

It also gives GMs an out for the inevitable "I shared my account with my best friend and now we hate each other and he deleted all my characters" situations.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
I often see on these forums where someone mentions how they as a player have their spouse/child having one or two toons on their account. I know of a RL couple who only have the one computer and used to swap off playing when one was home and the other wasn't.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm not a dev/employee/gm, but basically the rule is and has always been a 1 to 1 ratio of people to accounts. If you have two people playing the game, you need two accounts. No sharing. The person paying for the account is the only one authorized to use it.

One exception being underaged kids. A parent may pay for an account to be used exclusively by a minor. But going by the rules, the minor can't share the parent's account.

    [ QUOTE ]

Then there is the case of when my RL gaming group gets together, and there are times where one of us will log into our accounts from his system to show off our latest toon. (We have one player who doesn't play COH but likes to see our toon's costumes as well.)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Assuming the guy isn't sitting down and playing for hours on your account, I don't think there's anything wrong with this according to the EULA.

    Memory Issue

    [ QUOTE ]

Of course, 384 MB Ram doesn't go as far these days as it use to....

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not trying to hijack the thread but you play with 384MB of memory? Holy crap! I wouldn't even THINK of playing with less than 1GB, 2GB preferred...
  18. There's a higher ratio of fan art to screenshots, sure. But it would be the appropriate place for screen shots and screen shot requests.

There's definitely some art request threads going down over there too, but the vast majority of stuff is actual artwork.
  19. Between Wassy and Vivace... I'm predicting the final output to be...interesting.

    I see how it is...

Seriously Wassy, you need to check your glasses, cause you're at the TOP of the list!

(did she buy it? am I safe? is she still there?)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I know from experience...you're never safe. She strikes the minute you least expect her to. Live in fear.
  21. Really like this one, especially when it comes to the composition and the poses. It has a real depth to it, seeing the crowd around the two main dancers. And it draws your eye right to the main characters, despite being a busy scene.

    Awesome work.
  22. Here's my desktop. I've got two versions here, reflecting my two configurations (depending on if I've brought my personal laptop to work to use on something during my lunch)

First up, the "work safe" desktop.

Second would be my usual desktop. I would be very careful clicking on this link at work or similar types of places. No naughty bits or anything, but if your boss wanders by you might have some explaining to do: "every day usage" desktop

(You might recognize both desktops as being Wassy's work)

    What is NCCoin?

And answering the unasked question...it's in the EULA for CoH because, most likely, all of NCsoft's games share the same EULA (easier to deal with from a legal perspective)
