  1. I had quite an enjoyable time teaming with you folks this evening. I checked the clock at one point and thought "Woah, it's after midnight??". It was great hanging out and talking with everyone.

I'm definitely down for doing that again.

Apologies to the non-voice chatting people. There's talk of switching to vent instead of skype so more people can join in on the fun.

  4. Snagged an invite for Night's Frost just at the last possible second.
  5. Unfortunately no. No way to slow down unless you find some enemy that can debuff your speed.

  7. I can do skype too. Or TS, or Vent. Whatever. Also not required, but it's fun using it.

And no, I will not RP via voice chat (if that is the way things go). You don't want to hear me try to do a female voice.
  8. I'm not big on the whole RP angle, but will (attempt) to RP if that's the direction decided upon. My characters (at least the ones I care about) tend to have evolving backstories and sometimes there's some minor RP stuff that goes on, but I tend not to RP a majority of the time. I figured that it's more so the people who hang out down here can hang out in game some too.

Oooh, and thanks for the name suggestion. I like that one and am considering potentially re-re-rolling.
  9. I'd like to join you guys. Rolled up Dark Frost again on Virtue as Frost's Shadow. I'll request an invite and such once all that is hashed out.
  10. Yup. Sitting back from the monitor helps. Play in window mode and use a smaller window.

Also make sure you're not playing in a dark room. You need to give your brain some frame of reference that you're not really moving.

I suffer from motion sickness in many first person games, so I've picked up a few tricks over the years to help lessen the issue.
  11. I kinda want to move off of freedom but that would entail me having to rename Dark Frost. So that's not going to fly unless I can come up with a good, non taken name that's sorta similar.
  12. Yeah...no matter what folder you're in when you pick the "submit to this folder" button, it defaults to screenshots. Make sure you go back and pick the right one

Wassy's site also has a built in 2 click system for linking to naughty postings which is the code I'm going to be basing the FArt 2010 page on...so there'll be appropriate warnings all around.
  14. You mean the pet window? There's an option in game to enable it. Somewhere. I can't look speficially right now, but I believe it's in with the other UI options.

It adds a new tab off the Team list which can then be detached.
  15. If you don't mind adding me, my account is derango.deviantart.com.

Not an artist, exactly, but I do play the game and I'm on deviant art and all.

    The City Scoop?

The scoop was on the launcher for a looong time (until they switched to the new web page launcher format). There were legal issues in making it TOO official though (AKA, marketing would want to approve it all and lawyers would have to skim through it and such)
  17. I think my Main Hero is going to fall to villains due to a mind control plot by her arch nemesis (her evil counterpart from an alternate timeline).

She'll probably end up going back blue eventually (once she breaks free)
  18. I'm scared thinking about what these themes will be.

I shall see about carving out a 2010 FArt competition web page...

If I recall correctly, the gmail attachment cap has been rasied to 25MB.

At that point it's really up to if the recipient can accept an attachment that large.

That's not true. CoH uses DirectX for everything except the graphics engine, which is OpenGL. But they still use things like DirectSound and DirectInput

Although, there are those who are using it successfully. I'm hesitant to buy a new system fearing that I will be one of those who won't be able to run CoH. Perhaps I should wait a while for NCSoft to make coding changes that will let the game run will all it's goodies set on high (my new computer will have awesome graphics.) I already know that Everquest 2 (which is much more graphic intensive than CoH) runs great on Windows 7, so whatever it is with CoH.. it's something with the program and not with Windows 7.
I have no problems at all running CoH on windows 7

Just did a google search for your model of laptop and got this site:

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/p...&lang=lt&cc=lt

Should be everything you need there.
  23. I'm way too late to vote (missed the thread this time around ), but if I could have voted, I would have voted for Foo.

The emotion packed into that piece is amazing. Well done.
  24. Not that I'm really using it for drawing exactly (I'm more getting into the whole graphic design side of things, so the application is a bit different) but I'm quite happy with my (old style) Wacom Bamboo Fun (the small one). EDIT: Correcting this bit. The new Bamboo line is 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity.

But it's pretty inexpensive and I'd consider it a good starting point if one is on a budget. They just came out with a new line so the Bamboo line is now split into a bunch of different products. One with multitouch sensitivity (fingers), one with pen and multitouch sensitivity, and your standard pen tablet. Then there's the Bamboo Fun itself which is pen and touch enabled, with a larger active area.

Wacom is pretty much the gold standard when it comes to tablets. When I was researching my purchase, none of the other brands even seemed to come close to them.
