There's Julie Power of Power Pack fame and Karolina Dean of Runaways fame, who apparently are dating each other now.

All those years being angry with the Bat, Guy never had the heart to tell him his true feelings. <3
While an interesting idea, it can be ruled out: Guy has appeared in the new 52 already, so he's not the one. (according to the information already released) -
I remember reading Archie, Spiderman, Superman, etc., when I was a kid, but I couldn't tell you what I read first.
The first comic I ever purchased using my own money was X-men #130, which was the debut of the Dazzler. I had read the previous issue from a friend, and was intrigued by it. I continued buying X-Men for quite awhile after that. -
Arya's story gets even more complex in Storm of Swords, as she drifts from being on the run with Gendry and Hot Pie, to the people at the inn, then on with Beric's group, then onto the Hound.
I have to wonder if we are skipping over Beric completely; I can't recall hearing anything about him since season 1, when he was sent out after Gregor Clegane. Of course, there is little about him in book 2, beyond mentions that he is causing trouble and being hunted. He is responsible for Cat's resurrection, but we've yet to see if that will have any far reaching implications.
Arya is one of my favorite characters in the books, and it would be a shame to not see her complete transformation.
I wasn't particularly thrilled with how they handled the Robb/Jeyne(Talisa) relationship. Robb in the books seems more like his father; his marriage to Jeyne was a honorable choice to what he considered to be his folly. I just alsways pictured him having a moment of weakness in his grief over the "deaths" of Bran and Rickon, and then making the honorable choice. With the show, it just seemed that he threw away his allegiance over his feelings, which seemed out of character. *shrugs* It's a difference, and not a huge one, so it all will end in the right place. -

I've always wanted a zone event in Brickstown regarding the Zig. Here's my idea about it:
1. Announcement goes out.
2. Breakout commences. Inmates spawn in the walled area of the Zig, and are invasion coded, so they con at your level. The grounds need to be cleared. Whether this is timed or not, I'm not sure.
3. Once the ground is cleared, the doors to the Zig "open" to an instanced mission similar to the Winter Lord, where multiple players can enter.
Once inside the Zig, I envision an indoor map with several options. Maybe one group needs to get the security system online, while another group has to take down the ringleader of the breakout/riot. Maybe there are guards to be saved. Maybe Arachnos has managed to smuggle Agent Jenkins in to free a Destined One?
What would be really cool is if the coding is similar to the mayhem mission side objectives; such that the objectives are determined randomly from a set amount of possibilities. Thus, it could make each play though a little different than the one before.
That said, I still do enjoy street sweeps, and usually will participate in zone events if I am in that zone. The exception? I've avoided Nemesis events except on my badgers. Multiple stacks of Vengeance is not fun to fight against. -
I thought this as well when re-reading it this month. First reading, the horn was mentioned, but then discarded regarding any interest. It's one of those throwaway lines that Martin likes; what seems inconsequential at first takes on more meaning later.

I've been re-reading Clash of Kings during this season, so I could see the differences between the book and the show. I just read about Dany is the House of the Undying, and was thinking about what the warlocks were speaking to her. Specifically, I've been thinking about the "dragon with three heads".
This statement was said by Rhaegar right at the birth of his son, Aegon. He said that there was another, believing that his two children, Rhaenys and Aegon, were the first two heads. Rhaenys was definitely killed, so we can rule out that she was one of the three heads. So, looking at what we have:
1. Daenerys - There is solid evidence that she is definitely a Targaryen.
2. Jon Snow - Circumstantial evidence is pointing to him being the son of Rhaegar and Lyanna.
3. Aegon - While it is said that Gregor Clegane killed Aegon by bashing against the wall, babies do look a lot alike if you aren't around them enough to notice differences. Of course, we only have Varys' word on this, so we can't be sure.
Of course, we only just learned of Aegon in book 5, so it's very well possible that he isn't Aegon, and Martin may yet pull another rabbit out of his hat to be the third head.
Also, since quite a few of the other visions at the House of the Undying are apparent, there is one that is a little mysterious: the dead man on the boat, with gray lips. I've seen conjecture that this is a Greyjoy; the gray lips and the reference to a drowned/dead person may be correct in this. Any ideas? -
Quote:I agree with this. If Praetorian Hami is a zone event, or in a task force, great. I'm sick of trials, and I really only run them for badges. If I never saw a new trial, I'd be okay with it.I really want to have an opinion on the matter, but considering pretty much everything important that happens in Praetoria takes place in iTrials. I find myself largely unconcerned about the fate of Praetoria in much the same way as I find myself uninterested in the results of the British soccer cup finals - it's stuff I neither know anything about nor participate in.
Of course, trials have been heavily weighted compared to task forces since the Incarnate system was released. Since then, only 1 TF (Sutter) and 1 SF (Kal) have been released, compared to the 2 pre-50 trials and 7 Incarnate trials. Yes, the Penelope Yin TF is coming in I23, but so is another Incarnate trial. It'd be nice to see more TFs/SFs coming out as well. -
So, if Praetorian Hami came to Primal Earth, how would Primal Hami react?
1. They become friends/allies.
2. Instant hatred of each other.
3. They form a gelatinous mass, the likes of which haven't been seen since my one aunt brought her special jello salad to the family picnic? -

I've really enjoyed doing some of the newer arcs that have cohesive tales: Cooling, Dean, Nance, etc. I wish that a revamp of the older arcs would be done to make them of the same caliber; it would encourage people to play them more often.
I don't mind an occasional fedex mission, as long as it has some bearing on the story. However, I really loathe two things: 1. PvP Contact missions, and 2. Intro to Seer Marino. While I can appreciate that they want to introduce you to otherwise "hidden" content, with the new contact feature, these are really not needed. -

If you had to think up a food to represent each of the Seven Kingdoms, what would it be? I ask this because yes, I am considering doing a Game of Thrones diner party.
A fowl dish for the Eyrie...
Something spicy for Dorne.
An overall, Fire and Ice item? Baked Alaska. -
Quote:This is correct. I have been working on these recently on my 2nd badger, and I have been getting them as you described above.I'm pretty sure the You have flashbacked to x number of mishes awards when the final mish completes even for badge arcs but the challenge badges don't award until the TF is called in and don't work for badge arcs and a few others.
# of flashbacks done badges award for any mission/arc done in Ouro, and award once the last mission is completed.
Challenge badges are awarded for story arcs done, and after you call the contact back after the last mission. Note that this precludes missions like Spelunker, which is a single mission, but includes story arcs that happen to award badges, like Roy Cooling. -

Though I was sad to see Christopher Eccleston leave, David Tennant quickly became one of my favorite Doctors.
Happy birthday! -
Quote:I just did the Wincott missions for Oro badges within the past two weeks, and got all the badges associated with the various limitations (No Travel, Debuffed, etc.). Maybe last week's patch broke it? Haven't run one since that last patch...Last night I ran the Wilcott Hollows arc with no travel powers after checking to make sure I did not have that badge already. To the best of my knowledge that is not a badge arc, and is not a single mission, but still did not award the no travel badge. I appreciate the oro ability to get badges and do not mind running missions, but I really wish I understood what was going on better. At the moment I seem to get the badges at random, and that is a bit frustrating. I will keep at it, but it is a bummer to walk all over the place and not get the badge.
EDIT: Just ran Strange Case of Benjamin Decker with the No Travel Powers option, and I was rewarded Suspended afterwards. However, I didn't receive it until after I did a contact follow-up after the last mission. Did you make sure to do so as well? -
Quote:Hmmmm....It's the bundle of the Martial Arts super booster, not brand new costume pieces.
Once upon a time, the MA bundle was bugged in the i21 beta and charged more than 400 Points when purchased, so it had to be pulled from the live release until it could be fixed.
I thought it was new, for whatever reason. I was able to buy this, even though I had previously purchased the MA super booster (i.e., before Freedom). Guess I will need to open a support ticket on this... -
Try closing City of Heroes and then logging back in.
If this doesn't correct it, it may be a problem with your account. At that point, you would need to get a ticket in to Support for them to check your account.
I've had the same thing happen to me, and the logging out and back in again trick worked for me. Hope it helps you. -
Quote:The weekly release schedule is really more a boon for those who want to buy it all, or multiple things. Instead of putting the pressure on people to spend money to get enough points all at once, they break it up so that you have a chance to get your monthly stipend or use smaller amounts of money to supplement that stipend. This is just my personal feeling on the subject Zwill, but when something is apparently finished and completed, it irks me to the point of deep seated annoyance to have it appear to be delayed for what to me is useless tat, that is what I hate about Paragons current once a week release schedule.
I dont mind vanity pets, I wont buy them, but I dont begrudge their existence. But what I do begrudge is that they take up the weekly release slot.
While in the longer run it makes more sense to buy larger amounts of points, due to bonus points, some people can't afford or don't want to spend that much at one time. However, $10 a week is more affordable for them.
In addition, it tends to keep people coming back to see what's new. As any business would attest, it's nice to get first time customers, but your bread and butter is repeat customers: those that will keep coming back again and again. A once monthly check vs. a once a week check? I'd say it's a no-brainer for any business. Indeed, the comic book industry is also based on a weekly vs. a monthly schedule. (That is, they don't release all comics on one day; they break it down on a weekly shipping schedule.)
Waiting sucks; I get it. I've got two names already reserved for my Staff guys; they've been that way since January. I'd like to play it sooner than later, but it will eventually get here. -
Quote:I don't know about you but trying to find the post with the WSTs is a pain.
ParagonWiki.com has the WSTs listed in the upper right corner of their main page. Of course, at the time of this listing, it hasn't been updated yet, but usually it is correct. Hope this helps. (EDIT: It's been updated now.)
Zwill, you could still do the weekly postings of What's New in the Market on the homepage; just include a link to the forum posting for the month. Indeed, it might get more people involved in the forums. -
The track record for superhero movies adding additional characters isn't promising:
Batman Returns: Penguin and Catwoman - decent, some good, some bad
Batman Forever: Robin, Riddler, Two-Face - poor
Batman and Robin: Batgirl, Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, Bane - unmentionable
X2: lots of extra mutants, Lady Deathstrike, etc. - great
X-Men Last Stand: Phoenix, Juggernaut, etc. - unmentionable
Iron Man 2 - Black Widow, War Machine, Whiplash - decent, but not as good as the first
Superman 2: Zod, Ursa, Non - great
Superman 3 - never happened
Superman 4 - see above
Dark Knight - Joker, Two-Face - best Batman movie so far (not slighting Batman Begins, it was great as well)
Dark Knight Rises - Bane, Catwoman - TBD
I guess it would really determine how well the new characters are written. Some examples:
1 .Joker from Dark Knight - well written, nicely developed character, gave hints on background
2. Lady Deathstrike from X2 - no need for fleshing out, as plot didn't center on her
3. Phoenix from Last Stand - horribly written, considering part of the plot centered on her
I'd really hate to see the plot of a movie mangled beyond recognition, just to add more cool characters to the mix. While seeing Adam Warlock, Nova, and the like would be great in a fight against Thanos, it'd almost be best if it just involved Captain Mar-vell recruiting the Avengers in his capacity as Protector of the Universe. We get backstory, we get a plot, and we can move along without the clutter. -
I really don't think Apophosis will hit us; just pointing out there is a statistically small chance of it happening. Come 2029, we'll have better information, and can narrow it down to either it will hit us or it won't. Until then, we can only say that it is almost a certainty that it will not hit us.
Quote:Someone (3) won because over 600 million tickets were bought. In the case of the Apophis, it only has one chance.
I'm not paranoid about Apophis or aliens for that matter; far more pressing things in this world that are well documented to worry about. I also don't believe in discounting any possibility no matter how far-fetched; just because I don't believe in faeries or Sasquatch doesn't mean that they don't exist. For example, when a scientist in Australia sent colleagues both a sketch of and fur from a platypus, his colleagues were sure that it was a hoax.
I am a skeptic; however, it would be wonderful to be proven wrong. (Well, at least in the cases of aliens, faeries, and the like. I'm comfortable being a skeptic in terms of Apophis and the Mayan apocalypse.) -
Quote:*** POSSIBLE BOOK SPOILERS - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED ***I have to agree I've grown quite fond of Stannis myself. Anyone with the judgement to recognize the importance of Davos has his head screwed on right.
I've grown rather fond of Davos, and, by extension, Stannis, as well. When it appeared that Davos was killed "offscreen", I was ticked. Then book 5 came along and made me happy again. Well, at least until the end...
I sincerely hope that Davos is fleshed out in the series; he's a very complex and interesting fellow.
