It's a definite maybe.
They haven't announced it is definitely I19, but it does seem very likely. The only other thing that it could possibly be is a fix for an AE exploit that is currently being, well, exploited. -
Quote:I just did this map a week or so ago, and it was not on Unai's arc. As it is not a badge mission either, I don't think it is in OB.On a side note, I'm wondering if you can find the map in Ouroboros that has a bunch of BP in the graveyard. On the right toon, you could up your difficulty and knock it out easy if it's there.
Of course, I may be totally wrong on this. I just remember checking on whether it was on the arc, and being surprised when Unai did not have the book symbol by his bar. -
I'd love this. My main is an Ice/Ice Blaster who uses SS and the Prestige Slide to best emulate my thoughts, where she is gliding over a thin sheet of ice to travel fast. I'd love skating!

Quote:Unfortunately, it doesn't always fix it. While waiting for a zombie invasion to occur, I was badging in different zones. At one point they got stuck, and I tried zoning to three different zones. I even logged out for 2-3 minutes to try to get them released. When I logged back in, they were still there, stuck. It happens to me on my mastermind sometimes after zoning.
Change zones, enter a mission or a base then go back out.
It should fix the pets.
I eventually just switched to another character for the night. 10-15 minutes of trying to get your minions to move or release was just too frustrating. -
Quote:It's been going on longer than the Halloween event for sure; it's been a PITA trying to move my MM around to respond to zone events.i remember first seeing this bug in the i18 beta on my Praetorian Bots/Traps. It seemed to have been fixed in a subsequent patch, but apparently not for good.
i really haven't been playing Masterminds since the beta. Has this been ongoing since 18 was released or is it happening more since the Halloween event started?
Good to know about the macro, will have to get that in my tray. Thanks, Late! -
Quote:True, they do it on occasion, where the greater need is met. However, they don't kill everyone they fight, as GMan3 is suggesting is happening in-game.Agreed. But one point of clarification: Batman is usually against killing. In fact him and Superman shunned Wonder woman for a time because she killed this psycho mind controlling villain that had Superman under mind control. They eventually forgave her.
EDIT2: and she was put on trial and was ACQUITTED btw. ;-)
About him killing the Joker I'm not so sure about as DC Universe history has been retconned so many times it's not even funny.
Bottom line: The idea that superheros never kill is utter and complete foolishness and comics history DOES NOT back that up.
EDIT: Also pretty sure one of the biggest boyscout superheroes of all time, Superman, seriously DID consider killing Doomsday (permanently) at one time. He would have been justified. -
Quote:LOL. I wasn't ignoring it, just pointing out the fallacy of your argument.Typical. If you can not win an argument then ignore the totality of what is said and only pick out the smallest parts to refute. Let me reiterate just one part then:
"This game is loosely based on the realities of conflict."
And then I went on to say other things you ignored. If you want to delude yourself into thinking otherwise, go ahead, no skin off my back.
Fine, to put it succinctly:
1. You compare this to a police officer. Fine, I can accept that. However, police officers do not have access to the skills and technology that the game grants us. WE HAVE OPTIONS THAT THE POLICE DO NOT HAVE.
2. Yes, in my original post, I noted that Vigilantes, Villains, and Rogues may kill their foes. But Heroes do not. Even if you point out people like the Punisher, Ghost Rider, etc., note that they are always referenced as a Anti-hero. So, while the "gangbangers" and the like may kill normal beings, we as Heroes would be more survivable.
3. The fact that the Hospital technology can find us no matter where we are, means that the city keeps tabs on all super powered beings. As such, we can infer that they keep an eye on vitals and teleport you away before the killing blow can be dealt. My guess has always been that a tag is in our body that will teleport us away when we are defeated. As for ingame examples, there are several examples where the boss will teleport away when they reach a certain health level, such as Antimatter.
Now, I'm not sure why you are taking this personally and attacking people over it, but really, it's just a game. I see it in the way I want to; why do you consider it important enough to call me (and others) out on it? -
Quote:Granted, but they would be both be in poor taste.Bad analogy. Auschwitz was a death camp the Nazi's set up to commit genocide against the Jews. So that would not make a good badge for killing Nazi's AND the reason I chose not to use it as a matter of fact. The "Malleus Whatever it was called" was a book used to set a standard for identifying and convicting witches, so the "Malleus" badge is a fitting name for the badge for defeating . . . wait for it . . . WITCHES!
And those women killed weren't witches. -
Quote:I really don't consider myself to be a warm and fuzzy person, but thanks for thinking of me as such.If YOU choose to feel all warm and fuzzy because you're doing the right thing by arresting the bad guys or only beating up the good guys when you play a villain, then good for you. You might even sleep better at night for it. Me . . . I try to ground myself in reality a bit more and I sleep like a babe.
As for reality? It's a game with super powered beings, with powers that could be described as god-like. Pretty far from reality IMO. -
Quote:A better example is this: what if you were awarded a badge named Auschwitz for defeating 5th Column? Would that be considered acceptable? You would be defeating Nazis, and you would be rewarded a badge named for something that the Nazis used to persecute and kill people.Oh I get it very well. She has for some reason found personal reasons to be indignant with an event that happen about 500 years ago that killed possibly a few thousand individuals, but does not seem to mind an event from about 60 years ago that killed several million. The name of the badge and the style of the enemies in the game both serve as reminders of the past and nothing more. The analogy is perfect.
I honestly don't care if the badge is changed or not; just wanted to provide a proper analogy to the question. -
Since we do see missions with dead bodies lying around it, I've always understood it that the knocked out minions/LTs/etc. fading out is when they are being teleported to the Zig.
It's nice that you see it a certain way, but in-game text argues otherwise. Perhaps if you are a Vigilante, Villain, or a Rogue, instead of a Hero, you are killing instead of arresting.
In the end, your perception and my perception won't ever be the same. However, the perception that we are arresting them is backed by the game, so that's what I believe. And nothing you can say will change that. -
Quote:It is SG mode that's causing it. It looks to me like they forgot to add a Prestige value to compensate for the reduction. Fortunately, given the normal mission completion Prestige bonus, you're probably only missing out on about 500 Prestige.
I can verify it; put a 4th toon through it and selected the Trusting award while in non-SG, and I got the 100k. No biggie either way; just kind of odd. -
Quote:Unfortunately, it's the first time. I'm running these missions 5 times on several of my toons, just clicking each option once to get the badge, and then moving on to next until I get the accolade. So far, on 3 different toons that were in SG mode, I only received 50k when selecting the option that includes the Trusting badge, instead of 100k mentioned in the text box.If you're selecting the same reward over and over, the reward is lessened after the first time. Or, in the case of the rare recipe reward. you don't get it at all after the first time.
Anybody else notice this? On my next toon, I'll try it out of SG mode. -
Quick non-Malleus question:
The Trusting badge selection states that, in addition to the badge, you will be rewarded 100k Inf. However, I have only been getting 50k. Now, I realize that my toon being in SG mode might reduce the Inf rewards, but I thought you would get prestige in its place; unfortunately I am not getting any prestige with that 50k.
Is this WAI? Should I have jumped out of SG mode before selecting the reward to get the full amount? While 50k isn't a lot of money, I was taught not to throw away any money at all. -
Quote:True enough, but I'm not sure that there is a subsection of people devoted as purple suppliers. Besides hero merits, is there any way to obtain a purple IO except random? Or can you even get them with hero merits? (Can't honestly remember right now.)In order for a population decline to raise average prices it would need to have hit the suppliers of purples more heavily than the buyers of purples.
Yes, playing the game more often will get you more chances to obtain a purple, but being a farmer does not necessarily equate that you get more purples. But, I don't want to get into a debate on what random really means; there's already been a lot of threads on this anyway.
Another example is this: right now, there is a real low supply of Regenerating Flesh on the market; less than 100 for sale right now, which is unusual for a high level common salvage. Less 50s are playing right now, which means less Flesh getting to market. (That just sounds naughty.)
My thoughts? Just that we have less 50s playing right now, so we have a lower supply. Players are levelling their Praetorians/lower levels or just not playing until I19 or some other reason; I'm not sure. I'm no expert by any means; just trying to explain things by what I see. -
Well, population levels have decreased since Going Rogue went live, so there's probably a decrease in available purples. And, as any economist will tell you, lower supply and high demand will result in a higher price point.
I realize that the market is more complex than that, but I find that the simplest solutions are usually the right ones. Occam had it right. -
Steadfast Protection is the set with the KB protection.

Quick note: the announcement that the servers were up was made by the EU mod, indicating that the EU servers are up.
They post it here as well, as some people in the EU speak English. -
Did you get your axe from a guy named Bob, selling out of a truck in Cap? If so, tell him I want my money back!

It was announced in a forum post that the Halloween event would be starting on the 21st and ending on the 31st.

They have so many unresolved threads in the CoX universe; I'd rather that they finish one of those off first before they decide to off one of the main heroes in the game. "The Coming Storm", anyone?
(Apparently, the Coming Storm has stalled somewhere, delaying its arrival. Be sure to enjoy the sunny day folks!)
