Quote:Freedom regularly hits red on normal nights; can you imagine what would happen if the devs went ahead with the 3 hour window for badges? I would imagine that it would quickly fill and become unavailable for future log ins. Seems pretty poor planning, as all the people logging in from other servers would block some people who actually consider Freedom their home.Everyone on Freedom in the same three hour window could have been EPIC! or it could have been a crash that would be EPIC! in its own way - but once players brought it up as a potential problem, they are now reconsidering.
I don't play on Freedom normally (Infinity is my home server), so I would have definitely logged in (or tried to) to get the badge. Hopefully whatever decision they make will be a better one. -
I was hoping for more of a Rikti invasion style event, which would be an ongoing event for the entire week. A three hour window for each server is pretty small.
My home server is Infinity, which is on Thursday May 19th. I work Thursday nights, so my options are:
1. Take a day off to play in a very time limited event.
2. Miss the event.
Can't say that either option is really appealing to me... -
You can actually reach it, just not solo. You need a teammate who can reach it, who also has Recall Friend. It has been verified that this workaround does work.

Quote:Tam, you are being snippish. I was trying to be nice and answer some questions; the link I provided is full of player updated information. The Wiki is a great source of information.Ty Frosty, don't mean to sound Snippish but 'providing links' not actual answers just pisses one off... Especially when said links have FAILed so many times before. Redside content got a big boost, on that site, when GR came out and the Bluesiders "experienced Redside for the 1st time" but it still fails on so many levels it isn't funny)
As far as Snow Globe, what I have to tell you is this: whenever a new issue comes out, I always look for Snow Globe's post on new badges. It always contains the most helpful information on what the new badges are and what needs to be done to achieve them. Insulting Snow Globe here in the Badge Forums is NOT going to make you any friends here, I can guarantee.
Snow Globe gave you a list of side specific badges, which you had asked for. If you used the Wiki, which I pointed you to, it would give you information on how to obtain any badges you don't have. Just because you don't want to put the effort in, does not make the information given invalid. -
Quote:The Anti-Matter Collision / The Instant Army is Tina's arc. It has Clockwork in it. However, these can also be hunted in Praetoria, so it is not considered a hero side only badge.Which missions for what named mobs!?! I know some of you Know spill it, still need these Still
A Hero's Epic is Maria's arc. It has Resistance, Clockwork, and Seers in it. Like above, these can also be hunted in Praetoria, so it's not side specific.
As for the respec badges, the information in the link is old. You can now earn all 6 respec badges (3 on each side). To be clear, you need to run each level range respec to get the respective badge. IE, you must run the 24-33 respec, the 34-43 respec, and the 44-50 respec.
As for more information, you may want to visit http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page (Paragon Wiki) for any more information you may need. -
Quote:Same happened for me. I got the shard during the first phase, where you need to defeat 40 before Nightstar shows up. Other than that, I've only gotten threads/components.I received a Shard while at the beginning of a Lambda run fighting the initial mobs surrounding the facility; nobody had died at that point, so in my case the hospital wasn't a factor. The bug seems to be more far-reaching than just the hospital map (at least in my experience).

You can earn credit for the villain day jobs while still a vigilante; you just don't get the badge until you go over to the dark side. Same goes for being a rogue in Paragon City; I've done all the day jobs that way, and they reward automatically when you switch over.

The week that Numina was the WST? We had 2 zones get hit by zone events: one a Rikti, the other a zombie. Nothing puts the brakes to a Numina TF better than a zone event...

Quote:Well, mobs in BAF are dropping both shards and threads, so there is a way in-game to give different drop rates.Surely that's the point of Shards, though? They let characters continue to advance in their Incarnate powers when playing all the content in the game, except AE. I don't think that could be done with only Threads, unless there's a way to give mobs different drops rates in different content for the same drops (offhand, I don't recall any instances of that in the game).

Quote:LOL, I played a character named Frostfire in Champions as well.I posted an origin for my character Frostfire (which I played back in the 80's via the Champions pen & paper game) on the forum boards they had up before the game ever launched. By the time I realized the game was out and I joined up, I found that the game had made the character theirs and he was now a villain in The Hollows. I'm not saying they stole the name or the character, maybe they had thought of it on their own. There are times I come up with a name and I think to myself nobody has come up with this I bet! Then of course when I go to reserve it, it's unavaible. It was slightly disappointing however to find I couldn't make my character. I did however snag Firefrost so I did get to make him after all.
I was rather bummed when I got generic'ed not longer after creation. -
I can verify that Caleb does indeed trigger a global alert.

I have hero and villain badgers, both of which have yet to switch to get the opposite side badges. My hero is my main badger, with my villain as my secondary.
I went through the effort to get all the crafting badges for both. Both have all the explores, and a majority of the achievements. However, with the effort/time needed to get the TF assistant badges, as well as any badges for the upcoming trials, I am seriously considering just dropping to the one hero badger.
I'm looking at these three things:
1. I have limited time to play. We all do, but, as I work nights, my time to team is more limited. I still don't have the Shard TF badges; I just don't have the time to commit to more than 2-3 hours of play time.
2. I enjoy playing alts. I know quite a few of us do, but I am now playing my main badgers more than normal to try to get their alpha slots filled.
3. Badging is taking more time and effort in some cases. I'm particularly talking about the Assistant badges. I know they will take me a while to get, as my main has only gotten 6 of 50 so far. I'm not sure how much time it will take to get the upcoming trial badges.
A combination of events has led me to the opinion that one badger is enough; the others will just get the ones that they happen to get, barring any needed for accolades. However, I don't feel sad/mad/upset/bothered/etc., about it; it's just the best decision for me. YMMV -
Quote:The first 5 times I attempted the STF, my team failed to beat Lord Recluse. I have since then finished the TF to get those badges. While I can say that I was discouraged after the 5 failed attempts, I certainly wanted the badges enough to keep trying at to get the badges. One thing that these Trials are going to introduce to the player base, in I fear a quick slap to the head way, is the concept that you can, and probably will, fail. It is one thing to count how much XP or salvage you would get for successful runs and figure out your advancement, but, they are probably not going to be all successful runs. The "wiggle-room" of success that made this game inclusive is narrowed for these Trials.
I see this as a comparison to what Incarnate will be. Yes, there will be unsuccessful runs, but I will still keep on trying. Yes, it will be discouraging, especially when I see broadcasts and/or posts from other players who have unlocked/slotted. However, I feel that, just because something is challenging and/or time-consuming, doesn't mean that I decide it's not worth it. Like other things in life, if it came easy, it would probably not be worth it. -
Quote:QFT. My Ill/FF troller has only a couple of damaging attacks (Spectral Wounds and Blind). After I've bubbled up and got PA rolling, I generally try to do spot control; i.e., the boss/AV/etc. These two in and of themselves aren't enough to make an attack chain, so I will often use my Blackwand as a filler. But I still often use these these powers on some of my squishy level 50 characters such as my main Fire/Rad controller. If you only have a couple of serious damage-oriented attack powers then using the Blackwand or Nem Staff as a filler can always come in handy.
While not all my higher level characters use the vet attack powers, some use them enough to make them quite handy. -
I am a casual, time constrained player. I work evenings, during the prime U.S. playing hours, so my chances to get a full team are smaller. I usually end up running solo about 80-90% of the time. In addition, I have a wife and daughter, whom I spend time with, also limiting my time to play. (Not a bad thing!
)
I have 2 50s with rare Alphas slotted, while working towards Very Rares. I have 6 50s with Alphas unlocked with a Common slotted.
Do I expect to get the next 4 slots filled as fast as others? No, but I consider it something to work towards. I've looked at the method for getting into the trials for I20, and it looks like it will be easier to get teams together to run them.
My point? I'm a mostly-solo, time limited player, but I find nothing to object to the way the endgame is shaping up. If I wanted certain accolades (TF Commander, Marshal), I would need a team to get those. Why should Incarnate be any different? -
The sewers, by the reactor in TV, the power plant in Cap, the Pit in Sharkshead (miner). Just a few I had thought of before...

Holey Necrosis, Batman!
My first (and so far only) Mo badge was for Lady Grey. Kinda funny, we ended up with only 5 players going into the Hami mish, yet, due to a great leader, we finished out with the Mo. It was a fun surprise.
Got run Apex another time tonight to get the last badge I need for Mo...we used the glowies in the first mish, so I need to run one without. -
Everytime I've run Numina, we split the team of 8 into 4 pairs. Each pair will go into different zones for the defeats. Usually, zone 1 is team 1, zone 2 for team 2, etc. When you get to 5, it's team 1 again.
For the pairings, just make sure to pair the squishest with either a tank/brute or a controller/dominator, who usually can contain/aggro any ambushes that may occur. -
Quote:It's a decent substitution for Sprint, flavor-wise, for an Ice themed character. At least, it's how I envision my character sliding on a thin layer of ice around the city.City of Heroes DVD edition - which was out ages ago (I started with it, so it's been a while.) It's basically just a recolored sprint.

I got two purple drops in one mission of a prior week's WST (LGTF) as an Ice/Ice blaster, so.....
Ice/Ice blaster must get double chances at purple drops when running the WST. Just sayin'. -

I love that Psyche is the next WST! My reasons?
1. I have 2 in that level range who wil benefit greatly from doing a TF and getting the bonus XP, in addition to the reward merit bonuses.
2. My main badger has yet to do the Pirates SF, so I'm going to get that one in. One of my other badgers hasn't done the Psyche TF yet, so it should be easy enough to find a team for it.
3. I can go back on some not played as much toons and get Psyche for those who haven't earned it yet for TF commander.
Sure, some people may not want to run Psyche/Pirates (ooo, new villain name - Psyche Pirate.....would DC sue?), but there will be others who will want to run it, so it should even out. -

One of my alts is an eight year old boy (Billy Riker) who found a dying Nictus (K'Tem'Bok). The Nictus attached himself to Billy to save himself. Billy's innocence had a profound effect on the Nictus, who decided to reform himself. They fight crime together as Squid Billy! (Billy's idea, BTW.)
