Yup I cleaned out enough of my non played characters to gather 6Billion for the 21rst. Gonna throw a billion on the fire today.

Okay so in the light of day its annoying switching between alts only to have 2 million or so to email out....so maybe it wont be every inf I own.

Now, that 5 billion liquid was conservative but it was disheartening to look at my pre-market 50s and realize they only had 2 million then look at some level 10 brute I made sometime around I15 and he's got 550Million....

    Looking forward to it

I guess we should ignore this obvious example of a flipper causing the price of salvage to increase - or find some reason to discredit it as not really happening.

Cause we all know based on half concocted experiments and extensive BS propaganda done here on the market forums... that flippers could never possibly drive up the prices on items based on their actions. Right ?

Maybe the person is buying for the crafting of common IOs for their character or stable of characters....

Maybe the person is crafting common IOs and selling them below what youd be able to craft it for, thus doing you a service.......

Maybe the person is patiently buying and storing salvage for the long term building of a characters IOs?

But lets assume that maybe someone is really buying and flipping at that price point..maybe theyre flipping em for 200K? Whos suffering in this scenario? The seller that doesnt know the value that can get 30k minimum for something rite nao, or the seller that does know the value that patiently lists at 100k, the patient buyer that bid 32000 and waits seconds longer? or the impatient buyer that buys for the flippers marked up price?

Now if only we had a way to keep the evil flipper from mind controlling the impatient into typing the numbers that he deems.

My next 88 character is going to be Captain Patience or something...or

Impatient Villain...take Superspeed and Hasten and Taunt....

To modern TV audiences, that will still seem very young to be doing the stuff they do. Plus, it will allow HBO to use older, more experienced actors for those tough roles.

Oh no, my point wasnt that the actors or actresses are a given age, what age are their characters going to be?....are they going to doctor the timeline a little bit? Are they going to ignore the timeline and let the chips fall with a slightly older actress...never stating overtly whats going on (but if you pay attention can intuit how old she is and then go "ewwwwww")....Im vastly curious.

No, you missed my point. Not all fans are as impatient as described. I understand he doesnt write for the sake of writing and is taking a few minutes (or years) to enjoy the largess of his labors. As for comparing his health with Jordans, thats a trifle unfair. Jordan died of Cardiac amyloidosis (according to Wiki). I have no idea what that is but I doubt you get it from eating an extra cheeseburger or two or having nautical looking facial hair. Regardless I did a search for George Martin and health issues and didnt find anything. Other than the obvious overweightness...but judging from the picture on his website and the interview on that HBO piece he's lost some weight. Please cite something so I can see for myself what these known health issues are....honestly thats the first I heard about it.

Addendum to no on in particular

Have you taken a look at his schedule? No wonder the man hasnt gotten any work done, one minute he's in Spain, the next Ireland etc....slow down George, yer 62. Smell the roses or something

WoT series is going to be so huge I wonder if a credible 8 book series could be made out of it, but I would be curious how it would read. I had never read anything over 1K in pages. For me to read a series with multiple books like that and keep track of everything was an achievement. It just got too much for me when the list of characters grew to where I started losing track of people and somebody who I thought was awesome in one book doesn't show up again until late in the next book and not for long and book 6 wasn't even that part where it really got bad for being long winded either.

I don't think fans of the Game of Thrones series really worry about the quality of the books. They just want them finished. I just went and looked it up. I know a singer/songwriter and author who has put out 3 albums, 2 albums of B-sides, and two novels since A Feast of Crowns came out.

I just cant disagree with you enough. Im a huge fan of Martins and more than content to wait. Theres plenty of other things to read and watch that Im patient to wait for a quality product. Itll get here when it gets here.

WoT Book 7 (A Crown of Swords) for me is where Jordan needed an editor to stand up to him or something. The whole book was about grimaces, and adjusting skirts, and angry glares. I struggled to find a spot where the main plot moved a fraction. It was a 10 page short story squeezed into an 800 page tome.

Regardless, I wonder how HBO is going to handle some of the more delicate matters of AGoT

An apology was neither merited nor asked for. A half hearted one also isnt appreciated.

For the record you neither compared nor contrasted the two but revealed a major plot point. Im more than happy to discuss the merits of the comic book compared with the series. I must have missed the earlier spoiler reveal....I believe you, I just happened to miss it. Or maybe I read it and forgot...its immaterial at best.

You do remember there was that very obvious scene in the 3rd episode that had Rick and Lori "celebrating" his return in the tent while their son slept nearby right?

For there to be the proper level of dramatic angst over this situation it would be far better story-wise for this thing to be a "surprise" baby and for there to be a level of uncertainty about whose baby it is. If the Doctor wasted his last moments whispering to Rick that not only is Lori pregnant but that he knows Shane is the father then a huge amount of the OMG! factor that would make this situation truly tragic would be totally deflated. No, it's going to be far more "fun" for us as an audience to see this baby situation explode and have Shane and Rick fighting over not knowing whose baby it is.
Since the celebration its been what? 4 days...less? Do blood tests show pregnancy that fast? Im asking, I dont know.

I think the Doctor whispered because this is a private matter. He just got done telling Rick "Someday you wont be grateful for that chance". So its in character to tell him something like that. I think a zombie apocalypse isnt the best time to have a baby, I dont think the doctor thought it would bring hope at all. Okay so maybe there will be some doubt in Shane and Loris mind when the news hits and that will cause the tension.

On a side note, can we just cut the comic book spoilers out? I want to discuss, not get everything handed to me. I guess Ill take ownership and not come to this thread anymore.

    Thanks

If I have to wait a whole year, I'm starting my own zombie apocalypse. *twitch*

So I went back and looked at the whisper scene and tried to read lips....that didnt work, it turns out there is one career field I would be bad at, my guidance counselor lied.

So I fast forwarded to the scene in the RV where the camera unneccessarily shows Rick taking a long look with a strained expression on his face at his wife.....I wrote down my options for what he could be thinking before I watched it to see which one did that.

    A. "Holy **** that was close, that doctor was bat-**** crazy"
    B. "Hey I know the secret to the virus, for lack of a better word lets call it "hungry herpes""
    C. "That was an awful bad CGI explosion, odd that we would spend a lot of money on that when we are a show about "interpersonal development"
    D. "The Doc told me you're 3 months pregnant. Unless you got it on with coma-Rick, we have something to talk about. Didnt we agree to a 4 year rule after seeing Castaway?"
    E. "Daryl is funny...lets tell him we saw Merle on top of the building as we ran out yelling for help. Or we could tell him Jenner was a witch doctor and knew voodoo."
    F. "Why is Shane driving a Jeep around with his elbow hanging out the window? Is that really a good choice?"
    G. "Remember that movie "Escape from Witch Mountain" where they drove around the countryside in an RV. Yeah this is nothing like that."

So anyhow....clearly the answer was D. Look at his expression....go ahead. He wants some answers but cant ask right this minute and knows it....

The wife is pregnant, Shane is the father and this **** is going to come to a head next season.
  14. Quick Thoughts....

I love the way the Dr avoided their questions towards the end. Ive been in conversations before with people that knew I wouldnt like what they were about to tell me....

That was a really quick fire of the grenade....Im just going from memory but I thought the M67 was 3+ secs depending on external conditions..

Shane is sympathetic right up until the rec room....then he's a jackass again. Good job.

For the record I dont blame Shane one bit on the hospital scene. Thats as much as you can expect a man to do

Didnt like the ending, but I think they may have shot all their special effects budget in one go.

Thats about it tonight. Not a real good end to Season 1 but the rest of the season was good.

Stupid Military....thats what we always learn in these scenarios

He's probably been working on the cure out of guilt for saving his own hide when he had the chance. Finding the cure might not be his attempt to maintain his duty to humanity but a desperate act of redemption? Maybe he didn't want the others outside to find out what he did, especially when he lost any chance of a cure so maybe it was desperation/shame?

Or maybe i'm giving the writing too much credit and the obvious answer is the right one? Everyone just died...
As someone who has seen .60 cal machine guns in action Im always amazed that slow moving zombies (as opposed to the fast ones from 28 Days later and the like) could overrun any military checkpoint like they obviously did in that episode. Two or three rounds would cut a zombie in half, so there should be more half zombies running around.

The body count isnt high enough around the nest, assuming the military knew what was coming (and by knew I mean 10-15 mins of lead time)...but the novel World War Z covered that when they mentioned the US Military is trained to shoot center of mass. Unfortunately that just staggers a zombie....so its possible the zombies got up to the gate with flesh wounds....

Anyhow my point to all this was its likely the checkpoint fought a delaying action as they evacuated the site. If one person wanted to stay behind, maybe the chief researcher, I dont think anyone would argue with him in that situation. Thats why the bodies roll all the way back to the CDC building and arent stacked high at one particular spot. So lets assume he told his junior techs "the research is too important to move...Im going to stay here....you evacuate with the military". I could see that.

Like I said, not fun, not really challenging. Just a massive Zerg Rush of Rikti that makes applying any type of tactics pretty damn pointless.

Put it this way; I shouldn't have to drop a mission because of how frustrating it was. After my net shafted me, no way in HELL I was putting up with Holtz's cheaty power array and that many damn Rikti again. Hell no.
Im not going to argue about Holtz...he's an EB, some are tough, some are easy. Im not going to complain that a particular set of powers is a pain for my particular build. Its a crapshoot.

As for the rikti. I dont know about massive zergrush...maybe you got something I didnt. I choked down enough purples and ran in to take the portals out then ran back. I aggroed Honoree on accident so it worked out for me but really the handful of rikti that were remaining were trivial.

Maybe incarnate content being endgame isnt for every build. I really dont know what else to tell you. A handful of people had problems, more people had some problems but not oppressively so, a handful had no problems whatsoever....Im not going to recommend teaming or dropping the mission, change your strategy (whether that be insp load out, build, or actual tactics within the mission I leave to you). I didnt find it tedious in the slightest.

He's drinking wine (so presumably has plenty of food) and he seems to be safe from the Walkers. Why kill yourself right then unless there was a REAL reason to hurry up and do it more or less ASAP?

It's possible he was reluctant to break containment protocols, but he would have likely muttered to himself, "No, I can't let you in!" instead of, "No, go away!" if that was the only thing motivating him. It really was as if he was trying rationalize whether there was any point to letting them in because they would be no safer inside than out.

Frankly I think we are dealing with some confused editing and some uncertainty on the show's part which way they want to take this CDC guy motivation-wise.
Theres a certain amount of depression that comes with isolation. Humans are by nature social creatures. Im sure people poo-poo the idea of breaking down because youre alone as something thats just insane but stress plus isolation is a strong source of despair. How long has he been the only one in that lab...? 120 days or more right?

Also, the isolationism could have been what prompted him to say "Go Away" like a hermit in the hills that secretely craves interaction but acts gruff to all outsiders. Thats a staple of science fiction and comics....

He rips off a glove to reveal a bubbling glove underneath it. Then runs to the decon shower and you can see both of his hands still with gloves on. The water/solution would have diluted the compound pretty quickly, likely without the stuff being a problem.

  22. Im actually ahead of schedule on Malica's inf burning. My policy is to burn a billion for every two I remove from the market. For a while it was difficult keeping track while I was outfitting a super-Widow but now that she;s done and I have nothing to really do until I19 rolls around Im running about a billion burnt every 5 days. I suspect my sloppy record keeping was holding me back.

What this 88 craze has taught me is that my particular market methods can hold up comparable to just about any one particular method. There might be some better but its not an order of magnitude better and that makes me happy.

Okay....the sister thing Im trying to justify. They wanted a goodbye scene between the sisters and I get it. Maybe the older sister just knew they reanimate slowly....if thats the case Im okay with that.

As for the guy that was bitten...with no solid evidence that the virus is transferred that way are you going to off him in such a cold manner. For example the wife was bitten then died, then reanimated....it would seem to me that theres a certain amount of time in there....maybe the virus only reanimates dead flesh? Maybe the bite kills through natural infection then the virus works its magic...maybe 1% of the population is immune or somesuch. All zombie tropes that have been done before.

They just dont know....as was evidenced by the deer from a couple episodes back. Anecdotal evidence is not enough to just off someone the minute theyre bitten. I think you take precautions, I think you tie the guy to a chair or tree and watch him. But thats just me.
