  2. Did not defeat AV at end. After several DOA's and a tray full of ++Lucks, I decided to come back in another decade or two when character is +3 and try it again.

Watched the Statesman dying cutscene and almost fell out of my chair laughing at the - well you know - "heaven" nonsense. What a cheesy ending - almost as bad as the last episode of Lost TV series. Guess I am just not immersed in the story lines anymore.
  3. A vendor/customer relationship exists between game owners & players in which all the obligations are spelled out in the EULA. I am not emotionally attached to the vendors to do anything more for them than pay their fee; obey their rules & adhere to the laws that protect their product. Beyond that, you do what you will because you want to.

On beta server, I actively test, looking for bugs, errors, omissions, and ways to improve the product & I report back to them on my findings. I do this because I like doing it - no moral issues involved.

No moral issues involved in my disapproval with the super packs - I simply will not spend $$$ beyond the normal subscription fee, not @ CoH nor for any of the iOS games on my iTouch. It is a budgetary pact I have with myself. No moral issues involved.

The morals issues you may want to consider are those involving player to player contact. But that maybe is for a different discussion topic.
  4. I am referring to the Day Job Special Ticket Bonus. Ticket yields on missions is definitely much fewer.
  5. Has anyone else noticed the drop in tickets since the most recent update?
It appears the Bonus is not being applied to the ticket drops. I noticed that none of my characters have the bonus icon when in a mission but it is present within the AE area itself.

Is this a bug or a new feature I missed.
  6. "Rogue" works better as part of a character name than "Vigilante" does but I guess you don't need to be one in order to call yourself xxx Rogue.

I've had a Rogue for over a year. SG relationship same as if a normal Villain. Can access SG from blue side portals and exit back to same spot.
If they switch sides to hero or villain, lose all access & privileges to SG until they return to origin side.

Rogues & Vigs can also play both sides of SSA arcs which has allowed my Rogue to double up on some rewards.
  8. I have never listened to the in-game music. Turned it off day 1 in 2004.
However, I've enjoyed listening to Flogging Molly songs in most sessions and have even gotten a few character names from their lyrics & band member names.
  9. The OP is making a joke, right?
If he is, I get it.
    If he isn't, I don't.
  10. I thought what I was doing was approved use but good to have confirmation. Thanks.

I, too, enjoy tip style missions & would play them in AE if they were offered. Have you thought of any new scenarios that have not already been covered by the existing tip missions?

I despise the feeling of being manipulated by game devs into doing what they want me to do instead of doing what I want to do for fun. Result is I've become the contrarian who refuses to desire their carrots unless I can get them by playing the I want & not paying anything above the basic sub fee.

It is my time and my money and they will not dictate how I spend either. I will continue to pay sub only because it is large enough sandbox where I can continue to do only those things that are fun for me & let me avoid their most obvious attempts at manipulation.
  13. Does anyone else think like this?

I thoroughly enjoy the Mission Architect but...

I can't write stories. I can't even make them up in my head.
I don't desire lots of positive ratings or a plethora of xp/tickets from +4x8.
I don't seek out exploits (wouldn't know one if I found one).
I am terrible at writing reviews or fairly judging other's work.

But, what I've found I can do (and enjoy) is setting up personal favorite and challenging scenarios within the MA and using the search tools to find missions from others who appear to have done the same.

My scenarios are usually fairly straight forward and basic, commonly focused on executing a simple plan in a unique way...to please no one but myself. For example: using huge The Abyss map to set-up an hour long scenario involving Nemesis or the Rikti - a storyless scenario probably no one but myself would enjoy.

They are published and out there for all to use but it really doesn't matter if anyone else ever finds, reviews or play them. I felt really odd the other day when someone unexpectedly did find one and gave it 3 stars. Got a real chuckle out of that. Whatever were they searching for???

I just want to have fun and find that the MA is the perfect sandbox within CoX for creating that fun.

Hopes that is an okay approved way to think about and use the MA?
  14. My original main is a level 50 souvenir scrapper from 2004. He's still camping on virtue complete with all his original Pre-ED SO's.

Since then, I have no main but play whatever suits me at the moment. I now have 9 50's but the characters played the most are always under 50.

That is too funny a statement. Casual style is how I play the game and, honey, none of y'all or your trials come anywhere close to being 'casual'.

Robert Boone: Has a power list been released for Darkness Control yet?

City of Heroes: There is! You can see the list of powers here: http://bit.ly/rBFk5s We haven't revealed Tier 9 yet...we want to save that for later!
Dark Miasma is my favorite power set on my Brutes and Scrappers and I'm really, really looking forward to trying Dark Assault on Doms. The first 8 power choices look to be quite good; very similar to the Mind set but with Buffs and Debuffs.

Better yet- the insistent, demanding paying customer gets satisfaction. The company has more of an obligation to please us rather than us them.

    Thanks for posting it.
  19. There's a sucker shopping at WW every minute and so far WW's been great for sending them and their willingness to overpay straight to my offerings to the tune of 12.5bn inf and counting....thank you very much.

For purchases, I use AE tickets; Reward Merits and A-Merits far, far more often than the auction house.
  20. Seriously, what is going to stop rampaging leagues from making DA unplayable and unbearable for the solo players it was intended to help???

If these leagues waiting to be filled spend their waiting time rampaging through the zone, I can foresee many many solo players becoming disgusted and disheartened by the process. Surely, street hunting will be only a small part of the new solo content and the majority of content will be in instanced missions. This would seem to be the only way to give true soloists a chance to achieve their goals.

Perhaps. But I am retired with 24x7 flexibility when I play. I guarantee I'll find the time & area when & where y'all are not and that's where I'll be.

Indeed. But that "nao crowd" will be so easy to avoid since we know they play mostly during weekday prime time: 5pm-11pm local time. Their habits are so predictable I've rarely had a problem soloing what I want to get done without them buzzing around.
  23. Geezus. Weebus. But I'm glad I don't have a lot personally invested in this Incarnate BS.

If I can find a server where the new DA is lowly populated and the solo street hunting is not in competition with the almighty bullying groups, it might be an experience I'll enjoy.

But, get this, I and many other soloers are simply not in a hurry to get to tier 4 everything. It is simply NOT important to our way of playing the game. I play for fun, pleasure, relaxation, enjoyment, delight, blah blah blah. Stressful playing conditions do NOT contribute to what I seek from this game.

While a whole bunch of you thrive on adrenaline boosting playing conditions, my tired old body cannot handle them. They do things to me that you don't want to know about.

Solo play is the ONLY way I can play this game and if solo play style gets diminished in any way, they lose my subscription fee.
  24. I do not do regular missions anymore - only TIP, Street Hunting and AE.

For Tip and AE, bosses are turned off. It speeds up the mission a bit and I don't like dealing with bosses in a closed setting.

But, in Street Hunting where the switch is irrelevant, I love finding bosses and dealing with them in the more open environment. My DM/WP Brutes can handle +3 to +5 in the street, and all the other AT's I play can handle most +1 or +2.

If I ever do decide to turn the switch on for bosses in missions, I know what each of my characters is capable of handling.

If you're into that sort of thing, help others go through them. Peeps do that with the respecs all the time. It then becomes a choice rather than a felt need.
