  1. At least on Pinnacle, ever since the Holiday Event patch original flavor went up, all Fires and Troll Raves have ceased to exist. We've been watching the event messages around the clock while flying around the zones and have come up empty every time.

However, during the same period of time, I can confirm that the Paladin construction site, Kraken, Lusca, Ghost Ship (in both Talos and IP), Babbage, and Jurassik are still spawning perfectly fine.

    Odd Tin Mage bug

Let me stress: the person we kept outside of the mission NEVER entered the mission after we all logged back in after a team disconnect.

After taking out Neuron and getting the Army of Neu badge, with that person still outside the mission, we didn't crash at all. I'm can't tell you the whys or the hows of the workings of this workaround, all I know is I talked to a GM about it after we pulled it off and even he was amazed at the workaround and passed it on to QA.
  3. If it helps, he wasn't the leader and he never entered the mission after we logged back in after a crash.
  4. Yeah it worked without a hitch (except that one person not getting the Army of Neu badge).

There was a weird moment after defeating Neuron where the entire team stopped dead in its tracks and waited to be kicked only for it to never happen. I was kind of worried that having the person rejoin the mission for Bobcat would mean a crash after taking her out that would negate the whole mission, but there was zero hiccups or even a hint of a mapserver disconnect when we took her out.
  5. Guys, we found a workaround on this bug: keep a team member outside the mission. We were able to take out Neuron, get the Army of Neu badge, and no one crashed with a team member camping the entrance outside.

Edit: Update - the person who stayed outside didn't get the Army of Neu badge, of course, but he came back into the mission as soon as Neuron fell and helped us take out the two Goliaths and then Bobcat and got the other two badges and TF awards.
  6. I can confirm this bug.

On a Tin Mage right now and successfully pulled Neuron without aggroing Bobcat at all twice, only to defeat him and then have the game crash just as the Army of Neu badge was awarded along with infamy/influence.

Whole team logged back in, did it again, crashed again.

Both times we got the badge awarded only to find it removed when we logged back in along with any shard drops/inf/enhancements/recipes defeating Neuron gave us.
  7. So I was able to track me down completed series from a local Japanese importer I know and am reading it now and I can definitely see why my description was so off.

I think, years ago, I only caught the first chapter or two, where the battery thing is a major plot point. After that things get even more bat-crap insane and branch out from there.

    Highly recommended!

I literally went through their release list by date starting in 1999 and going forward and FOUND IT:

IT DOES EXIST! I'm not (that) crazy!
  9. I think Quesada definitely lucked out with the crop of former unknown or little known writers that have come into their own lately, between Daniel Way on Deadpool or Dan Slott coming from Marvel's licensed comics (Ren & Stimpy) to writing Spiderman.
  10. I think he's done a really smart job of surrounding himself and Marvel Studios with top notch creators after years of fine tuning.

It took us years of crap Chuck Austen X-Men stories featuring Nightcrawler popes and every woman being loose to get to Carey and Fraction actually unifying things enough to tell a good story.
  11. Very pissed off. And it's worse than One More Day.

So when Quesada took office, he said he had a few "genies" he wanted to put back in his bottle.

The first: Mary Jane and Parker being married. He has screwed the pooch on this one and it continues to get worse. Most likely, the second he steps down, whoever takes over will have them get "re-married" or retcon this all away.

The second: Speedball being a character. We got Penace for a while, or Emoball. Now he's back to being Speedball. Quesada ruined the Robbie Baldwin character and it's going to take quite a few years of Avengers Academy and other Avengers books to fix it.

The third: Mutant origins being abused. Well, with Generation Hope, mutants are just spontaneously appearing again, just like when he threw the fit and created M-Day. So the net gain of this "genie" being solved? We've lost dozens of decent B and C-list X-Men characters, had to put up with Marvel screwing up Xorn's continuity to all hell, then spent 4 years for the X-Men line of books to have a point again.
  12. Coincidentally, this is the 4th forum I'm stumped with this question.

I'm starting to wonder if I didn't dream this manga up.
  13. *Takes a Bow*

The only thing better than knowing I stumped the board would be figuring out what this manga was called.

Wow, long time no talk. Welcome back!
  15. Okay, City of Comic Lovers, I have a problem hopefully you can solve. Many years ago I was a fan of a fan translated (as far as I know it's never been brought to the US) manga. That was three computers ago, though, and have long since lost any trace of what the title of the manga was.

Here is the premise: it's a comedy/gag manga about a boy who wakes up one day and believes himself to be a robot. This leads to a running gag of him thinking he needs batteries to live and how would be best to insert said batteries.

    Any leads?
  16. I hope he's still doing the movie 90, too. 90 on-screen murders in 90 minutes = YES!
  17. Old mayor reunion/secret sex party!
  18. Only the three team leaders need to be in your SG, anyone else can be in their own SG/VG or not even in a SG at all.

Is this hero or villain side? If it's villain, I'd donate my services.
  19. Dear Fox: Thank you for remembering the Draco, since you just saved me from spending money to see this movie.

Who is this movie for? People who really liked Chuck Austen's X-Men run and X-Nation 2099? Most random selection of characters ever.

Yes and no. People thought Wolverine would be hit hard by it leaking on the internet so early, yet it still went on to be a #1 movie and a box office hit.

Definitely not saying Vampires Suck will follow suit... just the people who want to see Vampires Suck might not exactly be the most torrent-savvy.
  21. Honestly? Expendables and Scott Pilgrim split the guy vote on tickets and the movie, as well as it was marketed, didn't reach out to the casual female audience like Julia Roberts does in EPL.

I'm surprised the Other Guys held out as well as it did to stay in the top 5 and beat Scott Pilgrim, but I'd imagine that's almost entirely on word of mouth from people who saw it last week and liked it. Inception still being in the top 5 doesn't surprise me as it's a movie with mass appeal that benefits from multiple viewings.

I think they definitely made a mistake releasing this film in the summertime. If it were released in winter, it could have been a sleeper #1 hit like Cloverfield was. As it stands now it's a big fish in a very very tiny pond where critical praise means absolutely nothing.

I think it's definitely going to make its budget back in theaters and then become profitable on blu-ray/DVD.
  22. Her book is just a mix of her own blog posts and ghostwritten passages.

She also threw a hissy fit to the publisher for being "forced" to dress up like Wonder Woman for the cover. In the same Vanity Fare interview, she compared herself to Tina Fey as a female comedic genius.

She's got an ego that's three times the size of Alison Haislip and almost no filter. She honestly believes people loved her on AOTS because of the funny off the cuffs she said and not her dressing up like Sailor Moon and flashing the camera or playing bobbing for hot dogs.
  23. That'd be like Larry the Cable Guy giving interviews where he complained about his fan base being NASCAR fans.
  24. There seemed to be a good 20 minutes at the start of the movie at the screening I was in before the audience understood and accepted cocky idiot Cera over nervous and neurotic Cera. I think the Amazon.ca email scene was what did it.

The Culkin roommate seemed to be the first character everyone I was with latched onto. I was seeing the film at a free showing for people who read the Hartford Advocate alternative weekly, so it was a mixed bag. There was only a handful of people in its age group (including myself, my friend, and my brother). There was also a LOT of senior citizens who, as the guy warning us not to film the movie with our cellphones, pointed out come to just about any newspaper screening. There was also a group of deaf people who loved the film.

It was a weird mix and definitely not the usual crowd I see these comic movies with. There were certain points where I cheered and applauded (the Vegan Police) where everyone else just kind of chuckled. And I'm almost certain all the superhero cameos went over their heads.

One thing that united us before the movie won the hearts of the room? The only preview was for the new movie, Devil. As it was a screening by Universal, there were no previews or commercials beforehand, so we were essentially sitting in a quiet theater for a half hour with the lights on. So the preview starts and the crowd settles in. Then the text "From the mind of M Night Shyamalan" flashes across the screen and every single person in that theater, even the employee from Universal there to set up the screening, let out a loud groan.
