Must say the Silent Tempest model of a RP SG works very well. I currently run the Fletched Alliance that works on the same priciples, it's been going a little longer and has a few more members (I assume) but manages to keep that "tight-knit" feel.
Hmmm, I should introduce myself to these coil's, IC coalition perhaps?
Anyway doc, I'd say just turn up, see how it goes. One word of advice though, don't try hitting on the catgirls.... you'll see. -
Ok, I'm going to try and make a sensible response (oh god it hurts)
I must say I agree with what most people have said, had any of my characters seen a bloke getting shot in the face I would like to think they'd be able to do something about it. For killing, fighting and general agrresiveness, GG isn't the best place to RP it, with a large group of super powered crime fighting types around someone is very (VERY) likely to try and put a stop to it.
On the note of "God-like" characters, I too have been there to some degree, still do though I'm trying to tone that down (got some patches, gum, that kinda thing). More to the point of making powers for certain situations than having an actual god. Anyway, drifting off topic. If a character can solve any situation then yes, it's fairly pointless to have a situation in the first place.
So to some up my persoanl opinion: what they said. -
It's the big day, CJ's is open for business and there's gonna be a hell of party to celebrate. Ryan Jones, the proprietor, has been there since one o'clock in the morning, making sure everything is perfect and dealing with inevitable emergancies that always managed to happen at the worst moment.
Staff should arrive at ten o'clock in order to prepare and deal with any last minute issues. At twelve o'clock exactly the doors are thrown open and the party begins.
The bar itself spans the entire back wall. The building is set out in an open plan manner with seating areas spread out across the floor. In general the place has a bright and modern feel.
At 12:30 Ryan Jones gets up on to the bar to make the following speach.
"What can I say, quite a turnout. I'd first of all like to thank you all for coming, I'm truly glad to see so many friendly faces and even more new ones. I'd also like to thank all the people that have helped with setting this place up, even you" at this point he winks to the crowd. "Finaly, I have to thank some of the most important people, the men and women behind this bar. I've never been one for long speaches, so lets all get drunk and have a party."
At 1:00 the live entertainment begins, Human Alternative will be plaing on the beach. The party will continue into the night at which point a rather costly fireworks display begins. The party will continue well into the night, officialy closing at midnight but really just waiting for everyone to leave.
Ryan Jones spent his time greeting the guests, spending some time behind the bar and generaly socialising, always seeming cheerful and wearing a smile.
((For those that aren't aware Ryan Jones = Akkarin. For those that don't know Akkarin, I feel sorry for you, I really do. If you hadn't been told IC, adverts were placed in a few of the papers and there were mentions on the radio. So, who was there? what happened? Anything I missed out? Some IC posts would be good, lets see what people got up too.)) -
Fridan would have poped in to see what all the fuss is about on his way past. Poked around with the scanner thing to see how it works (Without pulling it apart, mind you). Maybe someone could convince him to get an acctual costume made, who knows.

Nice to meet you, again. Welcome to RP, have fun, other obvious statements that othe people can say for me.
Game mechanics is, in many cases, something we have to work around rather than with.
To answer 2 questions at the same time: the most common thing I've seen is using local chat for IC chatter and team chat for OOC things, for example, jumping around screaming gratz at people.
Depending on the screenshot you could say different things. A simple picture of you standing somewhere could easily be explained with something like a timer on the camera. Action shots are more difficult, the camera phone thing could work, also saying a friend took it or the shot was arranged beforehand.
All in all, hello, welcome, we don't bite (not even the vampires). Come along to GG, say hi. I'll be sure to say hello if I'm not on some kind of evil tangent (quite possible). -
Hmmmm
Fridan could go as he knows "the lads" a little better, but he can't drink and it's not really his scene.
Akkarin could go, party animal and drinking machine that he is, but it would depend on who invites him since he is not so hip with the cool kids. -
Nice! I like it very much, reminds me of something I did once, so it must be good
