Quote:Ah, memories...running down the hall after dinner to play and discovering computers being taken apart.Yes and let's hope that they don't launch it at the same time the techs start to breakdown the game room.
It was still fun to watch over people's shoulders, though. -
Quote:Hee...on November 2nd this year I will be turning 27 years old. Is it bad that I'm excited to share a birthday with Steelclaw?Well... since you're blaming ME for this debacle... I guess I should go first..
On November 2nd this year I will be turning 40 years old... -
Quote:Hee...so how's that retirement working out for you?Why not? We already got the Lost Curing Wand when the Midnighter arc was made available... and we've already rescued Benjamin Decker (and a few others) from the Rikti, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.
*immediately has an idea for a video for this and dashes off to make notes before she forgets*
Two months... oh hell, it'd be rough, but I MIGHT be able to manage... ARGH!
Moar videos plz.
Also, November 27th is the day after Thanksgiving (which I have off, yay!). Not sure if that would factor into anything, but it's there. -
Quote:Wouldn't count on it. I grew up in the Bay Area and being able to see the Golden Gate not shrouded in fog was very much the exception to the rule. The one time I ever walked across the Golden Gate Bridge it was windy and foggy and generally miserable.I am hoping that the weather in SF this october will be nicer than it has been this month- I've been checking the Golden Gate Bridge webcam at www.goldengatebridge.org and the poor thing's been shrouded in fog all week. Ugh. September and October are supposed to be the nice months.
Of course, generally speaking the weather in San Jose will be nicer than San Francisco (not as windy/foggy) but still, I wouldn't expect it to be warm. Pack layers. -
Quote:They do. Niv was teasing us in the HeroCon forum (before they revealed the name of the hotel) by telling us it had a shuttle to SJO.Doesn't the DoubleTree have a shuttle to and from the San Jose airport? I think I saw they did on their site.
Quote:Then get your tickets! I was saying last night that Protector will need a huge table to fit everyone. -

As one of my high school students (and this was some decades ago) said to me: "Hey Paul, did you know McCartney was in a band before Wings?"
My face and palm got very well acquainted that day.
Even funnier: it's not an age thing -- she's 43, I'm 27. My dad raised me right, what can I say... -
The accolade looked like tattered sails to me...Ghost Ship! Ghost Pirates! Blueside Sea Witch arc!
*want moar details* -
I'm up for this weekend. Only time I'm not available is Sunday before about 2pm PST.

Yes, custom mobs are harder in AE because they don't exist in the world. Standard mobs in AE are exactly the same as they are in the world, unless you're backing them up with custom bosses (harder) like the OP is doing. But you can't compare that group to one in the world.

Quote:Okay, how are you in a level 50 mish? Are you teamed with a level 50 player? Did you change your difficulty settings to +4 while soloing?Anyone know Thow his works im lvl 46 and im being auto lvl to lvl 50 on a lvl 50 mish kinda beats the point, is there a way to change it or better yet turn the dang thing off? i try in options i lower it to 0 and up it to 50 no help bug maybe?
If you're teamed, refer to my quote about the new sidekicking system above. If you're solo, go to a Field Analyst/Fateweaver and check your difficulty settings. If it's set for +4 enemies, that's why you're seeing level 50's. You can drop it to as low as -1. If you do that, and it doesn't work, /bug it. -
Look through the new issue features.
Specifically:
Quote:Edited to add: If you are experiencing behavior that doesn't fit the feature descriptions and seems to be a bug, /bug it in game and/or post to the Technical Issues & Bugs section of the forum.Sidekicking Changes: Super-Sidekicking! One player can now sidekick or exemplar the whole team, everyone can always play together!
- Each player in the group's level is set to the level of the owner of the active team task. If no team task is selected, everyone in the group's level will be set to the level of the team leader.
- When the team level changes, players will be notified via a dialog and have the option to quit the team or immediately accept. The dialog will time out after 30 seconds at which point acceptance is implied.
- While in the pending state, players cannot receive rewards and any critters they damage will be worth no experience.
- Players can choose to auto-accept team level changes 0 to 50 levels above or below their current level.
- Exemplars will now earn XP and a level capped person will get XP converted into influence like exemplars used to.

Quote:I just don't understand this. Everyone gets a freespec with issue 16. Meaning...you didn't "lose your chance" at anything; you still get a freespec! This is all great,
But why don't you post a message on the startup menu when we start the game?
Unless we come back here everyday, we miss out on stuff like this.
Now its too late and I lost my chance at a freespec on all my characters!
And even if you somehow needed two back to back (maybe with the new dual build feature?), run a respec trial! They're cake (but the cake is a lie)!
Ah well, back to your regularly scheduled DOOOOOM! -
Gotta agree with Red. I just logged, and I was on 3 great teams this morning (on Virtue). Good, reg content mission teams. After I finished with one, I went to WW to sell, and got another invite. Lather, rinse, repeat.
Hmm...might have something to do with the fact that I set my LFT flag to 'looking for any'... -
Times...this Friday evening (PST), all day Saturday, and Sunday afternoon/evening work for me.

I'll be there!
@Freckled Avenger:

Quote:Yes, PFF will keep the AV off the mercs...until the mercs start attacking the AV again. That is true that Dispersion bubble doesnt work with PFF. But i found out its easier just to bubble the Mercs who are essential to keep alive (ex: Commando and Medic) or just bubble the one who is currently being attacked. As i said before in my comments, Taunting and then PFF is used to keep aggro off of Mercs because they ARE the weapons of a MM or i could just let my pets aggro off an AV and hope my FF powers deflect most of the attacks.
You suggested Taunt/PFF as a replacement for soft-capped defense, that's what I was responding to. I think it would be a very effective strategy for keeping the mercs alive and fighting longer, but it would be a long fight, and I'm not sure it would be a successful one without some kind of debuffing. -
Looks awesome -- where do I sign up?!
-
Quote:Or until they kill the mercs and you have to run away/resummon. Or until you have to turn off PFF to re-bubble the mercs. Dispersion Bubble won't work on the mercs when you're in PFF either. As far as ive seen, They usually keep attacking the same player until they are dead or the AV has been taunted.
Seems very clumsy to me (and very slow). You might survive, but I don't know if you'd ever be able to actually kill the AV.
Disclaimer: I haven't gotten a /FF mastermind to 50 yet (my bots/FF is at 26, and the Protector Bots also bubble; mercs don't). -
Oh, I forgot the Mimee hairstyle. Works just as well as Posh for not clipping with capes/jackets. I have a weakness for Posh just because of the way the primary/secondary colors tint it, though. Love the 'highlights' effect.

Quote:If by "nerf bat" you mean "changing the Controller version to use the modifiers it should have been using from the beginning", then ok, nerf bat.Aren't they using the nerf bat on Fulcrum Shift in the next issue?
Isn't that going to affect Brutes?
Controller FS values will be 40% self-AOE buff (compared to 50% defender version) and 20% per-enemy buff (compared to 25% defender version), if I remember correctly.
