Where? Preferably Warburg, I'd like to have a go with me blaster, for a laugh in a "HA HA, I killed my Sim!" kinda way
-
When faced with a tank / scrapper / stalker / whatever likes to punch things in an uncivilised manner I try to juggle Electric Feild (immob) and/or Telsa Cage (Hold). Without melee, they are nothing. If you can get in first that is, and it takes considerable luck more than anything, but it is possible. Wouldn't fancy my chances against an SR or Regen (spit) scrapper/stalker build though in the long run. Getting them knocked-back 20 yards back the way they came is enough for me before I tell Checkov to perfom evasive flight

Oh, I had so much fun in Bloody Bay yesterday, even though it was short. A small team of my MA/SR scrapper, a healer, troller and a blaster head to the villain base and start trashing the turrets inevitably waiting for villian players to have a go. Realise how good SR is. Decide to wait untill 3 quarters health is gone after a good 30 sec pummeling from a fire corrupter, then launched at him, with the blaster having a go too. I was hoping a Dominator would have turned up to shut me up or something

The manual for CoV states that Stalkers are good to start off with. It's right, but then experienced players come along from CoH and start off with what sounds promising and delivers those promises. They get the high-scores on the easy mode on space invaders. I love the points made by the post...would love the ground to be evened out a little more. (Under-exaggeration.)

I'd like to see a 6-man stone tank group take you lot on, the ensuing battle would finish off what Sunfire missed out
Heh, taking my level 20 scrapper to Siren's tonight, to see how quick I get taken down. I respec'ed my blaster as well Stalk-o-bot, I have to face you again sometime -
The secondary powers are supposed to help with the ranged bit. Electric feild, shoot, Telsa Cage, snipe, ball-lightning, knockback. You can't go wrong, it only goes mad if you get stunned or whatever in melee (either rushing into a boss a bit early) or getting jumped by, say, Tsoo warriors with the caltrops or stun attacks.

Gratz, always a nice sight to see in the Hollows

I can't believe how blindingly easy it is with a scrapper. I have a MA / SR scrapper and I tend to use it in most teams;
>> Liuet sights group >> Cobra Strike >> Take one or two minions down by either knockback if it hits or build up and a couple of attacks >> boss if there is one, get an attack with build-up in if it's still there, pummel into ground, dashing back to defend terrfied trollers who just realised that earthquake stopped and they have no endurance left >>
Repeat.
Hopefully I get a bit more flavour in the twenties -
Hopefully you've slotted enough dmg so you don't have to use it. Hopefully.
Blaster is a RANGED support, scrappers and defenders get theirs because it meshes well with what they do. If I get down to defiance, it's because it's went mad, so you get defiance - an inherent power that boosts your attack by a gazillion so you fire off one or two lucky shots as a last stand before you either run (if you're at the back of the class like a good little blaster) or die with the rest of the team.
I'm pretty sure it looked good on paper.
With the current trend in blapping, I'm not surprised defiance isn't working the way it's 'supposed' to be working. -
Ball Lightning and Build-Up it is then! FTW!

Basically you need a primary that gives you some control and a secondary that gives you big attacks to bash stuff with and a bit more control for good measure.
Elec/Elec or Ice/energy probably give you the best options for blapping, elec/energy and Ice/elec work well too.
Elec/Elec is probably going to give you the most hardcore mele orientated build, you can pretty much get in there and stay in there once you've learned how to take advantage of your end drains and holds, however it's a set that really becomes effective at higher level. Elec/Energy works along very similar lines, less holds, but with the stun element in the attacks instead, using power boost to make short circuit effective instead of combining it with power sink to get a reasonable amount of end drain.
Ice/Energy or Ice/Elec on the other hand give you far more versatility, very good ranged options, and in the case of ice/energy a secondary that very much supports your primary in addition to three good, strong, mele attacks.

Got it in one. Elec/elec comes into it's own later on, and I'd use a couple of recharge and dis-orient slots with acc for charged brawl rather than go for Havoc Punch as well. -
Compared to Build-Up? I didn't realise the damage buff was that much
I still love my Build-Up...maybe the Acc buff works the other way round? -
Range IS a defence. A blaster should consider running if there's 4+ mobs attacking at once, but I've taken Red Vampyris on at level 25 (with no Fitness) juggling my Hasten, Knockback and snipe/build-up to take chunks out of his health. Defiance kicks in, bye bye.
Defiance isn't supposed to be that useful. It's a last resort - if I get down to that level of health then I fire off a Ball Lightning, sure, tanks hate it, but I'll probably take a few down with me, while defs / trollers back off. It's the AT job - kill, and be damned fast about it. -
Phase Shift.
If I'm a blaster and everythings went up sheet creek, I can still snipe any major threats / crystals / etc before running away like a madman. I haven't got the power yet, but hey! I got plans. -
I just die lots, but when I was afk out of the hero hospital in Siren's, I decided to throw my voltaic sentinel up to dissuade any brave stalkers while I nipped off.
Stalk-o-bot (I think) and some other stalker introduced me to the amazing pool power that is Teleport foe. Cue 2 AS strikes and splat on the ground -
I find a high acc lightning clap really useful in a squeeze; either for running away, or for quickly helping someone out. A high dis check helps keep mobs back for a while too.

There were a lot of issues to begin with there, but the battle is going on, teams are more organised and the lag is more bearable. Already seen a few having fun.
Gotta leave it for now though, took a lot outta me. -
I was thinking that Flurry might be useful to my Blaster for damage, after a few enchancements, rather than Hasten, but I'm still with it for the time being, for convienience in small groups where I just pump everything I have into a boss or a large group.

Electricity Blaster - Lightning Field.
Do I look like a scrapper or tank? Why on earth would I want an aggro inducing, sound sfx scraping down wall thing, that only causes minimal damage with no other beneficial effects, such as disorientate, slow, or whatever?
It was that useless to me, I did a respec. -
I don't rate Chrimbo that much, but I'll be there. I'm not on these forums muchos, but I'm willing to help out with the more interesting tasks there.
Bartender? Eh what? -
My elec Build Up is one of my most loved powers. I don't last very long if I use it without care, but used with, I'm hoping, a fairly maxed out Ball Lighting, it does a fair amount of damage to mobs.
