Hmmm...
I saw Niviene's "Welcome to I-16" post.
That said, I was pretty surprised when I took my L35 Villain into Bloody Bay,
waxed some NPC mobs and got ... XP for them???
Yep, I knew that powers up to L30 (BB is a L25 pvp zone) now work in there,
but getting XP for PvE kills in the zone came as a surprise...
Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, mind you, but this seems like a bug,
given that the toon in question is 10 levels above the zone exemplar level.
What part of the patch/picture am I missing here???

Quote:Actually, as I understand it, it is doing 5 "artificial sales" to make the history
please correct me if I am wrong, but that term is more of an investment
term used to describe artificially increasing trade volume; not showing more
demand for a commodity.
look like some arbitrary pricing is "normal" for that item.
In re-reading his post (reading comprehension FTW - DOH!) that's
not what he did (My Bad) - he was simply playing with bid numbers
rather than the last 5 history... Not sure how I misread it the first time.
So, I have no idea wth I was thinking when I said that - must be a
case of the "Mondays" or early Alzheimer's.
Ahhh well, here's hoping the rest of the week is more lucid.

Ouch... I'm not feeling the love, Peter... My guide was left out....

Definitely.
It needs slots... It's very underwhelming until then. -

feature much less convenient than the old one?
I'm trying to ignore...
It really should be 1-click part of the left side poster name options
instead of (in addition to) the section in your profile area.
To OP.
"Painting the tape" is what you're describing.
AFAIK - there are no rules against it (this would be a Market PvP tactic),
but I'd agree with others in that:
A> It won't fool (even slightly) most of the regulars in here
B> It's unnecessary to resort to it to fool the newbs - they're already lost.
C> Single digits really don't have a big bearing on actual Supply/Demand
unless there's a wide disparity between them... ie. 400 bids, 2 for sale -
seems meaningful... 0 bids / 1400 for sale - likewise... 9 bids / 5 for sale?
Not so much.
D> Market morality in a video game is laughable. Heck, even
in the real world we have the widely accepted phrase "Caveat Emptor"
(Buyer Beware).

/em facepalm Doh!
Guess that makes it a much easier decision...
(I mixed up Primary vs Secondary in my head
and so I thought it was L32 - excuse me, I need
to go have a lie down now...)

I have a NB/Nin Stalker that I'm quite pleased with so far.
I've heard that I-16's sidekicking changes will allow us to use
powers up to L35 in Siren's Call (currently limited to L30).
I have two choices for my L35 power as specified in the title,
which I'll need to select very soon (today - tomorrow at latest).
I'm interested in seeing your opinions about which one I should
take, and your reasoning for that choice. With DR/Elusivity being
what it is, I'm not sure either of them are all that helpful (which
is why I've left them till now).
Bear in mind this is solely for PvP.
Thanks in Advance,

Got no issues with Bill's advice.
That said, a Burn Aura/Ice Melee tank is an excellent PvE soloing machine
once you embrace the destructive force that is Burn and Ice Patch.
Add in defense toggles, a heal, and End leech, and you're good to go
(Mine solos the Cimoera wall all the time).

rofl - somebody actually gave me negative rep for this thread.
Talk about giving me an easy decision....
So, to the spineless wingnut that did that ... Congratulations!
Your ill-considered action turned an amusing rp thread into a guarantee
that I *will* actively hunt and kill any RV FiteClubbers I find, at my
sole discretion.
Rest assured that for each one of them I send to the hospital, I will smile,
drink their tears and think very fondly of you... Well Played!
To members of the FC Police - I still will not be actively affiliated with a
"police organization", but consider any FC Prevention work I do as my gift
to you - on the house... -

epic hilarity is epic.
My pvp character never duels, but I usually leave the actual
combatants alone. Spectators receive no such benefit, of course.
Nevertheless, after reviewing the offer posted here, I find myself
re-considering my policy. Certainly, my Stalker would not be publicly
affiliated with any organization referring to itself as "Police".
However, it may be mutually beneficial to undertake some occasional
clandestine freelance "work" from time to time as circumstances warrant.
My contact agent for such "assignments" should be fairly intuitive for
astute Jupiterian Investigators such as I'm seeing here.
I will consider this possibility as my Stalker (L35) on Freedom expands
his nefarious undertakings. Regards.
PS> I was never here...

Quote:Bingo!
Granted most folks zoom past these levels anyway and don't
consider IO's until about 22nd level. But as I play quite a bit of solo and
duo/trio with friends, the levels go a bit more slowly and there's actually
time to take advantage of what IO sets can provide even starting at
character level 7. And I follow this IO-set enhancement only philosophy
throughout the characters' careers as they rise in levels all the way up to
50. What I realized this weekend, just for fun, is that you can start as
soon as level 7 and keep at it without worrying about the inf to support it.
As an 85% solo (I duo the other day of the week), this is the approach I
use on my characters. Common IO's for key powers/attributes at L7, L12,
L17 and then frankslotting thereafter.
Even though powers get their key attributes maximized, I rarely have an
IO above L35 or L40 in the builds. On top of that, the toons exemplar well
and have pretty nice set bonuses to go with it. All for about 50M, total.
Obviously, these toons are all self-sustaining and rich, because 50M can
be made over the course of a few days, and any inf after that is gravy.
Now, if we could just teach that mythical "casual" gamer how to do this,
we'd have a lot of people having cake and getting to eat it too...

effects, most of which, I think we'd agree are useful. If you think of drain as
another sort of status effect, then I think you're looking at it the right way.

Short Circuit and Power Sink.
(with slotting) can get the recharge down into the 6-7 second range or so
(off the top of my head), so it can work well on it's own.
I frequently use it on BP Masks in Bloody Bay (where Power Sink is unavailable),
and it's quite effective there in conjunction with the other electric attacks.
Of course, with both SC and PS - the 1-2 shot is tough to beat.

Quote:No. As SwellGuy mentions, you can place buy bids on non-existant items (ie. L53 Stealth IO)
Just so i understand, did they (the devs) removed the 2 bill. influ cap per alt?
to create a sort of "rainy-day" fund on a toon.
My two primary marketeers (1 red, 1 blue) do this. They have 1B in "rainy-day" bids
squirreled away, and their "operating float" is 1.5B - ~1.8B to use in their "ebil schemes".
At any given time they both have 2.5B+ on hand. Any excess above that gets
converted into an IO and put in base storage for a lowbie alt to cash-in (if need be).

Quote:Fair enough - if you pay your monthly fee, you're entitled to make/play theGenerally I stay away from electric anything. It's highly underwhelming since
the endurance drain is generally completely useless. As a blaster, you'll generally
have things dead before you have their endurance stripped away. Or close enough
to dead that it doesn't matter. It's a pretty bad mechanic that's LONG overdue
for an overhaul.
AT's you want.
However, that's *not* the same as credibly saying Electric is bad. It only
means that *you* don't like playing that set.
To be sure, End Drain is a very different mechanism, but I for one (and certainly
many others I've read) find it far from "completely useless" as you say.
Personally, I rather enjoy the effect, and I have a Blaster, a Corruptor and a
Defender (so far) that find the technique very helpful.
It's especially satisfying to have a totally drained (and powerless) boss be completely
at my mercy due to that effect when he'd otherwise be able to pound my toon into
a greasy smear on the pavement.
"Completely useless" ??? I think not.

Amusing story - thanks for the chuckle.
I think Iltat has already got the Welfare Institute part covered with their
annual SG "Enrich the Poverty-Stricken" multi-billion give-a-way...
Of course, several billion only goes so far, so perhaps your reform program
can help the downtrodden, unappreciated, hand-me-down spandex wearers
in our fair cities...
Cheers,
